For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ok lemur
we just did week of hydrocortisone - ooh was so lovely

could cuddle him naked and changing his nappy was actually FUN instead of hell
and he was so happy
blah
anyway
plan was to then use cavilon because if used on relatively good skin it would stop any more problems, right?

wrong
it is bad again after just one day
what did we do wrong? do you have to put loads on? if it is waterproof and a complete barrier how can ds2's skin be irritated again? even the dermatologist said it was very effective
i am feeling that feeling of dread again - it's coming back so quickly and he'll be all itchy and sad again

although I could finish the jar of pickled beetroot cause I love that, but that would just be gross

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 18:57

pointy yes
i think the se is lovely actually
we do have to drive to these places though - they aren't right next to my house

pointydog · 04/05/2009 18:58

the sore bottom sounds awful, franny

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:58

MMmm beetroot.

Franny, I hate to say it but, ime, steroid creams inc. hydrocortisone are the only things that actually make a difference

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 18:59

i am going to list yesterday's food because i forgot and it was a good day

apple
raspberries
melon
raisins
banana
hummus
salad
sweet potato
carrot
parsnip
mushroom
brussels
corn
prunes

10
and 1 hour at gym

pointydog · 04/05/2009 18:59

fuck off franny

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 19:00

Now, I grew up in the SE and did not have shooting balls and moving playthings.

pointydog · 04/05/2009 19:00

yes, I too think that steroids are often the only option. This dairy free is going nowhere.

There is that new drug, though. The one that had the cancer scare that was then poo-pooed. I'll ask about that next.

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 19:01

'fuck of franny'

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 19:01

bunny i think this is the case here
it's so fricking depressing
oh loads of time with nappy off helps, and the EC / potty training helped but he is very mixed now about co-operating - i expect we started too late
it takes up SO much time away from ds1, as i have to be with ds2 constantly holding his hands and giving him my attention the whole time he has his nappy off, or he scratches
god knows i get little enough done as it is

sorry huge whinge

OP posts:
pointydog · 04/05/2009 19:01

that was some years ago, bunny. This is now and the people of the se have fun attractions coming out of their ears

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 19:01

Except pointy said fuck off not fuck of

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 19:03

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 19:03

How times change. The SE turned into a happenin' place.

pointydog · 04/05/2009 19:03

the fuck off was to your list which you listed tactlessly soon after mine

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 19:05

It's brutal on here Pointy. Toughen up.

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 19:06

oh i see
hmm
well pointy when someone gets 10 we usually say "well done have a sticker"
not "fuck off"

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 19:06

Or eat more F&V. Or lie

pointydog · 04/05/2009 19:07

yes, you are right. I do need to be more pleasant.

That is a gret list, well done, keep it up

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 19:08

lol at "toughen up"

pointydog · 04/05/2009 19:15

dh is racing in a grand prix so I have to wait

TooTicky · 04/05/2009 19:20

how many portions in 2 goodish-sized courgettes then?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/05/2009 19:24

Oh Franny.

I used Cavilon on a sore bum, but not from eczema. I used a few good squirts, gave it a waft to dry, then put the nappy on.

Tbh I don't know anything about eczema? Is it an external symptom caused by an internal problem? Or is it one of those things that no one really knows. I feel for you both, I really do.
