For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

dd2 stripped her bedroom of evrything. I was furious. I had spent ages tidying and she pulled evrything out, even her bed linen

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:07

Zac

I don't know why he is wearing make-up. It's a bit off putting. Pirate eyeliner is one thing but blusher?

pointydog · 04/05/2009 18:08

this 'make you a mate' - what does that mean?

going to have lots of vegetables for tea

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:09

Ooo, LR, I'd be rather cross.

TooT, I am quite shocked. You must be misunderstanding her. 12 year olds are lovely all of the time. Never hard work, or stroppy or angsty at all.

Boys don't do that do they?

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:10

Pointy, it means you are now part of the cult and may never leave.

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:13

Here but he is doing something strange.

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 18:22

Oh, no, Zac thingummy not my thing at all.

SB, boys change species at 9...

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:26

Yes, he's about 12

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:27

In what way, Toot? Good or bad? Should I worry. I love my chatty, happy, bouncy 3 yr old who likes high heels and painted toe nails. I don't want this to end.

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:28

why do people lurk on this thread though. I don't get it.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/05/2009 18:30

I love the Zefron too. He's so good looking it's obscene.

Baby Lemur is a bit split personality today.

I am happy
I am sad
I am laughing my arse off
I'm crying and throwing myself around

It's been a cycle like this all day. Gawd I wish those teeth make an appearance soon. Although what is worrying is I can see the teeth at the top and they're not the middle ones, they're the ones either side. He is going to look very odd!

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 18:31

we had good day that started badly
up too early - dp had dodgy stomach - got lost in car and ds2 v tired, had to feed him packet of sweets were so called healthy fruit sort but still, not my finest hour
finally arrived at adventure park thing all a bit jaded and unravelling round the edges, and it started to rain

went to cafe for wodges of home made cake and pot of tea, rain stopped, ds2 slept, sweets forgotten, we all revived and explored very fun and unusual play trail thing - there kept being another bit round the corner, and some really funny bits, like a giant platform thing where you stand on with lots of people and it suddenly rocks to one side dramatically, then everyone runs to the other side and it FLUMPS back down the other way
plus big squirting thing that you could lie in wait until someone came to examine it, then make jet of water shoot up at them

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 18:33

why do people lurk?

they want to know more about fruit and vegetables of course

OP posts:
TooTicky · 04/05/2009 18:38

SB, don't worry about it. It is not all bad.

SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:41

Oh Franny - we're talking about lurkers and you just admitted to feeding DS2 a packet of sweets. That was probably the worst thing you could have said. You should have lied and said it was home grown quinoa

Day sounds lovely.

How many eggs do ducks lay? Is it possible for 1 duck to have 13 babies?

pointydog · 04/05/2009 18:46

sullenness and sarcasm I quite like hence my enjoyment of 12+ yr olds

Although I hav e been remarkably lucky with the dds in that they still do seem to like me.

dh has just been talking about when they leave home and how we will feel confused

so I put forward my plan of buying a van/small motorhome and going on travels together

TooTicky · 04/05/2009 18:47

A duck on the canal here has 11

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2009 18:48

the lurkers KNOW i was just kidding about the sweets

don't they

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 04/05/2009 18:50

Oh, so 13 is perhaps not all that unusual. This mother duck seemed so calm and laid back. Her babies swam around, played chase but always came back. They didn't run off or shout at her or flap around and make a big fuss. I think I would like to be a duck.

pointydog · 04/05/2009 18:52

I see more photos. I never knew about the mate thing. Is that you? Looking all small and slim? And outdoorsy?

pointydog · 04/05/2009 18:53

and how come franny has all the good fun attractions near her house? Shooting balls and moving adventure playparks. fgs. Is that what it's like in the southeast?

pointydog · 04/05/2009 18:55

now, the real reaosn I am here - my full list:

orange juice
grapes
houmus
carrots
brussels sprouts (even more than 1 portion)
green beans
beetroot (pickled natch)

I will have a norange later. Other than that, I couldn't physically shove any more fruit or veg down my gullet.
