For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It came with my tropical fruit delivery driver from waitrose far across the sea.

Well done to your dh btw, fab running.

FrannyandZooey · 11/05/2009 19:55

oh aargh
with envy at waitrose
we haven't one......till the autumn

thanks guad (and all) i will tell him
ds1 is so chuffed and keeps saying "wasn't daddy FAST?"
bit of a u turn, as after the first 3 or 4 runners came past and no sign of dp, ds1 said loudly and disgustedly, "so has daddy given up and gone home, or WHAT"

Pear
banana

plus previous.

Rubbish.

Bad bout of IBS at the moment so am not eating much at all

But the good news is that I did 35 mins of yoga today

TigerFeet · 11/05/2009 20:15

Our nearest Waitrose is 40 miles away [sob]

Hope you're feeling better soon LR. Probably not what you want to hear but one of the few good side effects of this pg is that mine has really settled. Amazing really considering my diet

melon
blueberries
raspberries
mixed salad

probably 4 or 5 in total.

FrayedKnot · 11/05/2009 21:30

Do you mean you will have Waitrose from the Autumn, Franny? I am slightly confused.

There is a Waitrose round the corner from where I work but actually I try not to go too often because I spend a small fortune every time I walk through the door

pointydog · 11/05/2009 21:53

I ate a large, delicious, juicy (not cunting at all) mango with dd1. It was utterly gorgeous. I'd forgotten I bought it at the weekend. Little bit disappointed it spoiled my pattern.

two bananas
two peas
two oranges
one
man
go

pointydog · 11/05/2009 21:54

we should all write a shape poem one day

pointydog · 11/05/2009 21:54

(but bags I not do the cunting mango)

FrayedKnot · 11/05/2009 22:05

I don;t believe you only ate two peas, pointy.

pointydog · 11/05/2009 22:14

goodnes no, not two peas. Two portions of peas. But 'portions' is not a nice word so I didn't want to include it in my poem

TooTicky · 11/05/2009 22:18

peach
tomato
spinach
onion
melon

sorry, not very poetic. Am wondering what my grandfather would have done with it...

TooTicky · 11/05/2009 22:22

Actually, I had some of the melon before rhe spinach and the onion.
And the tomato was sliced.
And the spinach and onion were mixed.

Peach
T o m a t o
Mel
SpOnaichon
lon

And probably none of them were full portions.

Peac
T o m a
Me
SpOn
on

pointydog · 11/05/2009 22:26

oo, well done, toot! I like that.

ALthough disappointed in not seeing one full portion, natch.

FrannyandZooey · 11/05/2009 22:33

pink i don't know if this link will work but here i would recommend this calin bleu gauze that is being sold here for you
it's a lovely light weight for summer and kind of in between the stretchy wrap and something like the Ellaroo for firmness / difficulty tying
nice neutral colour and good price
we have one, it is cool to wear temperaturewisebut not quite supportive enough for ds2 now imo

oh i must tell you ds1's marvellous spoonerism
dp and i often say "god loves a trier" meaning something like "nothing ventured nothing gained"
ds1 made a stab at it today but marvellously came out with "god tries a lover"
