For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

congrats to franny's dp.

My dad used to run marathons. Put him in a stinking bad mood beforehand and afterwards too

mollyroger · 10/05/2009 18:35

yay Mr Franzo!

I doubt I could run 10metres....

pointydog · 10/05/2009 18:41

poor effort with my f&v today

red pepper houmus
banana
broccoli
tomatoes
orange juice

might partake of fruit later

TigerFeet · 10/05/2009 18:45

Hello

I feel a bit odd coming on here atm as my f&v intake and exercise levels are equally shite

But I need to wish Toot's ds1 a happy birthday and pinch a bit of lemon cake and say hurrah for MrF&Z's running and good luck to Molly and oh, probably loads of other stuff too

I am lurking but not really posting much.

womblingalong · 10/05/2009 18:54

Oh Good Luck for tomorrow Molly.

TF, how are you?

TigerFeet · 10/05/2009 18:57

Hello FamousWomble, I'm gutted I missed your telly debut! Will you be on again?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/05/2009 18:59

Hi Tiger, nice to see you. How are you feeling? Any sign of the ms getting better?

Wow Toot, that cake is fab, and happy birthday to your ds

Good luck for tomorrow Molly. When do you find out the outcome of the appeal? I hope it is straight away.

We start the no processed food week tomorrow. Yikes. Although I have realised that I'm cheating using sugar really, but I can't be doing with molasses and all that malarky.

I will be making my own homous. Any tips anyone?

We're having a massive blow out on Chinese takeawawy tonight in preparation for the week ahead

TigerFeet · 10/05/2009 19:04

4+ months of MS and consequent shoddy diet is taking its toll tbh. My GP thinks I may have it for the duration now. Coupled with increasing mobility problems I can officially declare myself the antivegger.

[evil ]

womblingalong · 10/05/2009 19:05

TF and everyone who asked, very cringy really. Got no idea if any more repeats, will find out next week if will be on again.

How are you keeping?

TigerFeet · 10/05/2009 19:13

Good luck tomorrow Moll! Will be thinking of you.

I'm in scrabble hell. I have a blank and can make no less than 4 seven letter words but I can't place one anywhere on the cursed board

And I have a food issue at the moment. I can't stop eating chocolate Help me!!

littlerach · 10/05/2009 20:13

Oooh, dd2 had one by accident.

It was Use Some Broccoli (instaed of somebody) the Kings of Leon song.

Any good

pinkspottywellies · 10/05/2009 20:17

pinkspottywellies · 10/05/2009 20:28

Franny have you sold the Ellaroo yet? I'm still umming and ahing!

FrayedKnot · 10/05/2009 20:29

Hello

I don;t know what I've missed, I have had crappy migraine / tummy ache for 3 days, but finally think I am better. Slept for 12 hours last night, with a woken up bit about 4.45 while DS came in and got himself settled.

What's happening?

Did I see it was someone's birthday? Happy Birthday to DS1, TooT!

And Franny's DP won a race?

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

TooTicky · 10/05/2009 20:32

Pink, sprinkle cheese on the top and bake as an earthy pizza.

Tiger {{{{{{}}}}} kep posting! I was wondering where you were.

Well done Mr Franny!!

Guad, I have done 2 dalek cakes [mother of obsessed child], a badger, a fox, a couple of castles, a woodland shelter....
and yes, I have crocheted a dalek [insane]

Boco · 10/05/2009 20:32

Franny did they read that book on radio 4? It sounds familiar I'm sure I've listened to it.

Have been at party all afternoon and evening - only just got dds into bed, hysterical with tiredness (them not me) they were covered in facepaint, moss, twigs, icecream, grass stains, took some scrubbing.

Good food day though, veg chili and loads of salad stuff and fruit in the pimms.

TooTicky · 10/05/2009 20:33

Oh FK, that sounds awful!!

TigerFeet · 10/05/2009 20:35

I've considered acupuncture... the only thing that puts me off is the cost. I may well have one treatment and see how it goes. I've had it before, for IBS, and found it very useful. Right now I'd pay anything to stop feeling like I am living in the body of someone twice my age. My energy levels are zilch. Mostly down to poor nutrition imvho.

Anyone know if I can have () Kiki whilst pg?

Only 18 or so weeks to go...

Pink - I love mushrooms and tomatoes together all you need now is bacon and a couple of sausages

TigerFeet · 10/05/2009 20:39

Oh FK How awful. 12 hour sleep must have helped immensely.

I am hugely impressed by things such as croched Daleks. And Dalek cakes. [geek]

pinkspottywellies · 10/05/2009 20:43

TooT do you mean bake the mushrooms? they're tiny - I thought they were big seeds from something at first. How will I know what they are? And how have they appeared?

pinkspottywellies · 10/05/2009 20:44

Glad you're feeling better FK.
