For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh Boco, that conjures up rather a picture

Good weather so feel happy and the little boy behind us came to play with dd2 (even though he is 4 years oledr) and he is so lovely (though naughty at school!) and helped dd2 dig a hole and make a flag.

SB we used to go to Soup Plantation when in Ca and I would stuff with all the delicious (and v unhealthy) salads.

Pear
banana

am cooking rissotto with mange tout, corn and mushrooms.

have grand plans for a BBQ tomorrow.

Who is it that does good haloumi here? I am fancying it on skewers with tomaotes and onions.

Tell me!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/05/2009 18:03

Chop Halloumi, put on skewers with pineapple, onion, cherry tomatoes, peppers, chorizo (if not veggie) and voila. As simple as.

Retail therapy is always good

We haven't seen Stuffit for a while. Where are you Stuffit?

SuperBunny · 02/05/2009 18:25

Stuffit pops on every now and then. maybe she lurks here?

My garden is growing. I have:

lettuce
rocket/ spinach (I can't remember which)
Broccoli
Peppers (pimento & serrano)
Basil
Radishes
Strawberries
Peas
Beans (but forgot what kind)
Beets
Rhubarb
Other herbs

TEN

littlerach · 02/05/2009 18:28

Where is Osba? And OldLady?

FrannyandZooey · 02/05/2009 19:25

our neighbour on one side is a complete donkey sometimes
every bank holiday without fail his brother comes over and they get pissed in the garden
i know this is kind of traditional british behaviour but anyway
he is normally a rather grumpy and taciturn man
when drunk he becomes very friendly indeed and tries to engage dp in jolly banter over the garden fence
this would be nice in a way if it wasn't for the fact you know next week you will be lucky to get a 'hullo' as he walks past
then all the kids came to play in our garden
his and his brothers'
when the bbq was done the kids didn't want to go back so they passed a load of sausages and shit over the fence
so 5 kids sitting in my garden eating sausage in a bun
ds1 watching them looking bemused
LOL is it just me?

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 02/05/2009 19:31

How odd!

pointydog · 02/05/2009 19:34

I would be a bit at your neighbour, fran.

My neighbour over the back got drunk once and started ffing and blinding over the fence at us about our fucking windchime that was driving him mental . Took us about half an hour to realise he was shouting at us. In our house, dark outside.

FrannyandZooey · 02/05/2009 19:38

i mean i don't care if they are eating sausages in our garden
it was just funny
it was an odd thing to do, wasn't it?

i expect he will be at the shouty stage soon
i have about this much tolerance for drunk people
last year he tried to teach his 8 year old to light the bbq
8 y o is cautious little boy (lovely lad) and bit scared of holding the matches etc
obviously didn't really want to do it but dad had decided he 'should' learn
cue lots of patronising encouragement which descended into rage quite quickly

ooh get me bitching
sorry, i am obviously tetchy despite underwire
i do feel a heap better though

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/05/2009 19:38

Oh yes, mushrooms are good on the kebabs. I don't marinade them or anything, just chuck them straight on the bbq, but not when it's too hot and flaming.

pmsl at the windchime.

FrannyandZooey · 02/05/2009 19:40

i need someone to come and take the easter egg away fgs
what is it about snapping a bit of thick milky chocolate off? it's soooo easy to just keep going

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 02/05/2009 19:40

titles? anyone?

OP posts:
pointydog · 02/05/2009 19:42

I am looking forward to chocolate tonight (re dairy free hell). dd2 is going to a horrific mass sleepover so the three of us will be able to eat alittle chocolate without feeling guilty.

dd2 is off with dolly mixtures and marshmallows.

SauerKraut · 02/05/2009 19:42

Get a dark one next time- tisn't half as tempting! My Green and Black one is going to end up as hot chocolate.

FrannyandZooey · 02/05/2009 19:43

you are right bunny
i got bought lovely dark chocolate selection for mother's day and half is still sitting in the bedroom

pointy, enjoy

the things I do for you!

Mashed swede and carrot (veg of the gods ) cabbage, half an avocado, carrots, cherry tomatoes, cuc, lettuce. Breakfast was lacking in f&v cause DH brought me toast in bed. And squash so not even a juice to bump my total!

Probably 6 though and will snack on fruit tonight. I'll also try and have 10 mins on the trampoline but might not have time - need to pop out and buy snacks for my friend who's stuck in hosp with her baby.

SauerKraut · 02/05/2009 19:48

And gah- I'd misread the packet and had been looking forward to those thick milky chunks!

SuperBunny · 02/05/2009 19:50

SauerKraut- my G&B's egg had the same fate. I may finish the last of it tonight. Never has an Easter Egg lasted so long!

SauerKraut · 02/05/2009 19:52

Try heating milk and stirring your last bit in, SuperBunny- it's gorgeous!
