For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

But that's only this week, Nicky, because I have PMS.

The rest of the time, I feel fabulous

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2009 20:39

You'd forgotten you were going to Riga? Where is Riga?

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2009 20:39

nicky i have an excellent poncey relaxation cd, going cheap
sorry about the house
that really is the pits
it's going to take more than a bit of chard to improve your mood and well-being
but let's face it, it can't hurt

Yes, there are bad vibes here now. It is a lovely house and someone will really like it as they won't have the baggage. One of my best friends lives 2 doors along and loves hers.
I know it'll go eventually. My patience comes and goes.

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2009 20:40

Riga is in Latvia. My friend talked me into it - well she said 'it'll be cheap, will stick it on credit card, pay me back whenever - there - it's done'. Then - when it was done, she told me that there are 20 other people going and everyone staying in a fricking youth hostel. Still. It's travel. With grown ups.

nickytwotimes · 27/04/2009 20:42

Ah, PMS. Fabulous. I am post myself, so on the good bit of the cycle. FLippin' 'eck!

Lol at chard. I've never had chard. Might purchase some this week. What do you do wiht it?

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2009 20:43

Look at Franny's prune-filled well being everyone!

I'm going to google Riga. Top Riga Attractions

nickytwotimes · 27/04/2009 20:43

...and yes, I know you eat it, not shove it up your bum or something.

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2009 20:44

LOL.

'Impossible not to be loved in Riga, because of its given inspiration to everyone ? both for them which are delighted with ancient and which craves for new impressions.

Riga ? City of inspiration.

Come and make sure of it!'

I want to come now too. That's off their Tourist information site! It's FANTASTIC. I crave new impressions.

FrayedKnot · 27/04/2009 20:45

I do, Franny every time I log on.

And I always hope that mew members have read the bit about starting off gradually as being rather sensitive to underripe bananas and pears myslef I tend to worry about it.

Boco · 27/04/2009 20:45

I'm there with you FK. Did a really frugal and healthy and basic vegetarian meal plan and weekly shop yesterday, eating some beany torment every day - then today I went Raaaah and ran to the shop and bought a chocolate cake, some wotsits and a packet of coconut rings and ate them all angrily until I felt too sick to prepare beany torment.

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2009 20:45

Go and make sure of it Boco!

i just listened to k.m.peyton on radio 4
she is a hero of mine
she said "i'm not into all this facebook"
and "when you write stories these days you can't have kids getting into trouble and having adventures - they've all got mobile phones!"
LOL

ahundredtimes · 27/04/2009 20:47

Oh it looks beautiful. You'll have a fantastic time won't you?

Boco · 27/04/2009 20:47

LOL! New impressions are exactly what I've been craving! And how nice that it's impossible not to be loved there, I will test that out.

FrayedKnot · 27/04/2009 20:47

Boco is going to Riga to fnd love in a Youth Hostel?

Goodness.

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2009 20:48

i love you already boco and you're not even there yet

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 27/04/2009 20:49

It'll be all love in that youth hostel, IMPOSSIBLE for not to be.

Boco · 27/04/2009 20:50

I don't have to FIND love there, it will be literally impossible to avoid, the tourist board say so.

Am staying in st elizabeth hostel apparently, i should have googled that by now....

TigerFeet · 27/04/2009 20:50

I would quite like to be loved in Riga, can I come along?

We still have Easter eggs left, I am snaffling a Thornton's offering.

When I could eat properly, I was eating lots of f&v but loads of cheese and cake and otehr crap too so I never lost any weight. Now I eat mainly carbs and I have lost nearly 2 stone since Christmas .

I may have skimmed the OP. Maybe. Once

apple juice
froot salad (2)
tomato sauce for pasta (2)

Guadalupe · 27/04/2009 20:51

Ah, you are going to Riga. Good. That will be fun. I think I need a weekend away but I might only make it to Brighton.

Nicky - I didn't mean a real whistle I meant with a metaphorical whistle, ie a fair smile and a spring in your step. Silly thing to say really.

I have read the OP and I don't always follow it.
