For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Morning all,

Hoovering Pink?! I am amazed, I don't think I hoovered for about 5 weeks after DS was born.

Get thee to bed for a rest, you are dealing with a growth spurt!

Guadalupe · 11/03/2009 09:57

It's freezing.

I got up and looked out at the frost and went back to bed with 100's book and we were nearly late for school.

Anyway I have FINISHED it! I felt quite emotional at the end and extraordinarily proud. It was dark and beautiful and trememdously exciting and full of unusual and interesting ways of looking at things and I think it will do well, very well indeed.

Right - Grapes and tea and biscuits. The milk is off.

womblingalong · 11/03/2009 10:03

BBBee · 11/03/2009 10:28

hello my wonderful lovelies who i have in common a shared aim of more fruit and vegetables.

I trust you are well and good. Book excitiment abound and baby squidginess i hope.

toot - i read in some tea leaves that there is a new homeopathic remedy for those who are so cynical about homeopathic remedies but they can't get people to take it seriously

i am a cynical bitch but have been wowed by wizards in the past and can see why some people swear by it.

love to all

AtillaTheHairyArsedTrucker · 11/03/2009 10:40

Rofling at BBBee....

I took running back up last year in about january wombling. I don't train for anything but when I am well can do the distance of a half marathon. I just built up really slowly adding a bit more and more to my distance every other week or so. My big love is off road running though, on the local trails and moors...mixed terrains and moderate undulations. I live in the peak distict so a lot of it is near verticle inclines....very shin splint inducing.

womblingalong · 11/03/2009 10:47

ROFL BBBeee

Wow Atilla, good for you.

I have a DH who is a brilliant runner, runs to work every day, does 10K's/half marathons regularly, and has run a couple of marathons. He is training for a half ironman triathlon in Sept, so I am a very poor second to him.

However, he is really pleased I have taken up running, and is lending me all his stuff/advising me on warm ups, as I have very painful feet, due to gait issues, and my lower legs ache a lot. I am really hoping I don't get shin splints.

AtillaTheHairyArsedTrucker · 11/03/2009 10:56

I got some gel insoles that have made a huge difference, reduce impact massively and pushed the boat out and got some proper air-tech running shoes. Definately makes a difference for me.

Impressed with your DH but we all have to start somewhere.....

Have read, absorbed and forgotten everything. But I think Bee made me laugh.

BBBee · 11/03/2009 14:32

do any of you do proof reading? or have skills in that area? It would be this time next year - 45,000 word thesis.

BBBee · 11/03/2009 14:33

(I'd pay)

Boco · 11/03/2009 14:46

Bbbee dp does!

AtillaTheHairyArsedTrucker · 11/03/2009 15:04

45,000 word thesis.....

AtillaTheHairyArsedTrucker · 11/03/2009 15:05

Pink has been hoovering for a very very long time......

TigerFeet · 11/03/2009 15:36

I do proof reading Bbee

But I suspect htat Boco's dp may be less distracted than me this time next year

Also I have never done anything longer than an ingredients list on a food label

I am in awe of the runners. I am not built to run.

Atilla how's things?

Pink has been hoovering for so long because I have kidnapped her so she can hoover my houe too.

womblingalong · 11/03/2009 16:35

Hello everyone,

TF, thanks for your comment last night, it made me feel . Did you see my question about settling DC's into reception? I seem to remember you had some concerns with your DD, I am having some re my DD, and wondered if you had any words of wisdom?

BBeee - I do proof reading too, although Boco did get in there first. Have done Phd Thesis, product and packaging and brochures etc.
