For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Blimey Guad, that's good!

Good luck tomorrow Toot.

If it helps, I won't list either, just so you have company.

TooTicky · 03/03/2009 21:31

Thanks for all the good luck. Ds2 is most chuffed to be called TooTlet. He says he wants to join MN and be called TooTlet.

i think the thing about appealing is, it sends msg to ds that you don't have confidence in the school
if he ends up going there, as he mat well do, that's not so good

GUAD GIRL! (unless you meant it cost £6 to get in and you lost nothing weightwise)

molly - oh dear but oh good. 100 is right - new start and all. can you scour new school website for some unique selling point - a climbing wall or something that shiny school doesn't have and then pronounce 'by fuck my boy, they have their own crocodile' or whatever. can you find someone he knows who is going? i imagine that is the most scary thing - not the school but the mates - need to find cool mates at his school and make up fantasies about bands / birdwatching / balloon modelling.

i feel for you though - nothin worse than a broken hearted child of mine.

TooTicky · 03/03/2009 21:34

He is sitting beside me and chirping, "TooTlet".
He should be sleeping

pinkspottywellies · 03/03/2009 21:34

We got into a secondary school on appeal but wasn't start of year 7 and we had moved to the area (within half a mile of the school - we picked the school, then drew a circle on the map and found a house within it!) But there is hope! And if not then everything happens for a reason

FrannyandZooey · 03/03/2009 21:34

aw at tootlet
hope all goes well

Boco · 03/03/2009 21:47

pointydog · 03/03/2009 21:48

I just slouched off quietly for a bit, boco, and wore a hat over my eyes

Boco · 03/03/2009 21:49

Losing 6lbs is like the size of a cat or 3 guinea pigs! Where does it go? I'm quite freaked out by that.

Boco · 03/03/2009 21:50

Vey mysterious pointy. Scottish teacher, likes potatoes in her pasta.

pointydog · 03/03/2009 21:51

a-dore Jamie oliver

Guadalupe · 03/03/2009 21:51

Not the slippery spaghetti?

Mayber pointy grated it finely...

Boco · 03/03/2009 21:52

I grated it finely, but it was still rank.

pointydog · 03/03/2009 21:53

tagliatelle. And I used a peeler to shave the little vivaldi potato into transparent slices.

pointydog · 03/03/2009 21:53
