For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FOr some reason I can't stomach orange juice, but apple juice is fine . Probably the acidity. I haven't had any today though. I'm not at work tomorrow so I can go shopping and get some.

What else should I order from Amazon so I don't have to pay the postage on 100's book? I need to spend £7.something. I know that postage is less than that, but, y'know...

TooTicky · 03/03/2009 20:55

Franny, from what i know of you, and what I have heard about your mother, you are not like her at all.

TooTicky · 03/03/2009 20:55

TF, by two...one to read and one for best.

TooTicky · 03/03/2009 20:57

pinkspottywellies · 03/03/2009 21:03

My book was 7.79 tiger

Hello TooT glad you couldn't keep away Good luck to TooTlet with the op.

TigerFeet · 03/03/2009 21:07

So's mine pink, but I need to spend £15 to get free postage. My stripy logic prefers to spend £15 and get free postage than spend £7.79 and have to pay £3 (or whatever) postage.

Probably deserves a

pinkspottywellies · 03/03/2009 21:08

But my postage was free. It's if it's over £5.

TigerFeet · 03/03/2009 21:13

omg you're right why did I think it was £15? I need to go to bed I think. Have ordered it [excited]

I am losing my marbles. I forgot dd's school bag this morning then left my handbag in her classroom and had to go back and fetch it after school had started .

ahundredtimes · 03/03/2009 21:21

Oh god thank you for ordering, thankyouforgettingfreepostagetoo.

Molly - am cooking supper so will be brief.

Right, I LIKE the woman who sounds like me. That is a success story. Is the shiny school a religious one or hgs?

She's bang on anyway. It FEELS like you've not got what everyone else has, so it feels like rubbish, but actually, really might not be. You know they are all going to make new friends at senior anyway. Let it die down, and chat with ds1 tomorrow. If he really wants you to appeal, then perhaps you should, but I'd absolutely coat it in the fact it might not happen.

It'll be okay missus. This school allocation is rubbish. I like the woman like me in the playground. Find more parents at that school, and see what they think. Before you appeal. Thing is - it's meant to be a new start, just that dc don't know that. Hope that makes sense. Must rush

Guadalupe · 03/03/2009 21:26

I know quite a few people who have had success with appeals, catchment for primary here is like 0.2 or something stupid. Maybe it is meant to be but maybe you will always wonder if you don't appeal, and for that reason might be better to try even if you're not hopeful.

Have lost six pounds!

ahundredtimes · 03/03/2009 21:26

Good luck tomorrow TooT

FrannyandZooey · 03/03/2009 21:28

Hooray Guad!!!!!!!

Agree about appeal Moll - if only so you're not always wondering.

I'm excited about the book

We're going to register ds tomorrow Oh god is it the right name [panic]!

TigerFeet · 03/03/2009 21:30

It sounds really interesting 100x, I'm always on the lookout for something new to read

Molly, 100x is a very sensible lady and you should listen to her. We attempted to appeal against dd's primary school allocation on the grounds of the distance criteria being a pile of shite... we are a 10 min walk from the school we wanted but we got a school 4 miles away because the distance is calculated by road and there's a footbridge that they refused to take into account so according to the LEA we were 2 miles away. Too many people lived closer than us by road although most of them were further away by foot... ANYWAY we withdrew the appeal in the end, it wouldn't have succeeded and we couldn't face the stress. As it turns out, dd is at a wonderful school with fab teachers and is really happy. I just wish I didn't have to drive there. I make her walk the last half a mile even in the rain [evil].
