Its six months overdue and I've made an appointment for a week today.

C'mon girls. Anyone else putting it off FOR NO GOOD REASON???

I went for mine last week, after 15 fecking minutes of prodding and poking, the nurse decided she needed a longer speculum, went to find one, was gone 10 fecking minutes whilst I waited half naked with just a bit of blue tissue to make me decent and she COULD'NT FIND ONE

have too go back next week and do it all over again

don't let that put anyone off though

The lab usually suggests another sample in 3 months if there's insufficient cells for reading, to give the cells a chance to regrow; but I have seen samples taken a little as a week later turn out ok.
How long will your result letter take? Well, a lot of labs had caught up, so for example, we were doing our tests within 14 days - that's when you'd have got your letter. However with the number of samples coming in at the moment I think the turnaround time might be longer.

had mine a few weeks ago

2 weeks ago i went to the hygienist at the dentist

decided i would sooner have a smear test than see the hygienist any day!

smears IMO arnt that bad... hygienist is torture and painful

Hi all,

Went for mine today .... over and done with in 2 mins and didn't hurt. Only moan was the nurse ... she just looked miserable. When questioned (by me and my nosey self) she admitted that she was run off her feet due to 'Jade'.

Personally I think its a good thing but couldn't seem to persuade her. Oh well.

I hope the Dior Addict perfume I sprayed on my (clean) socks prior to going cheered her up

I have just booked in - Thurs. 19th @ 12 (no excuse, I have written it down now) I did give my date of birth, fingers crossed they were OK with it and I won't get turned away on the day. I never would have done it were it not for JG and this thread... I would have sat until I'm 25 and only if a letter came through the door.

I may even book my MMR now I'm on a roll!

Fab! If they query it just remind them that you are "frequently, rip roaringly, passionately, sexually active" that should quieten them down nicely
