For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello!!

Have you lost your sparkle?

Just had appt with the midwife. My next appt will be when I'm overdue. I want to wait til +10 days before I have a sweep and +14 before induction. She kept saying 'yes it's up to you' 'your choice' etc BUT they'll get you in at +10 for induction so we'll do a sweep before then. But it's up to you!! I now have an appt at 40+6 and have said I'll have a sweep at the hosp at 40+10 when I go in for daily monitoring.

Might go before then of course. We'll see

Orange juice.

stuffitllama · 13/02/2009 12:36

excellent TF

Good luck Pink. If you don't want them rushing you then why not miss the appt? Probably inappropriate suggestion. Good luck though. Lots of trampolining over the next two weeks maybe?

I've eaten all of them, 200g, about thirty. All for one measly portion.

pinkspottywellies · 13/02/2009 12:42

stuffit!! I think she's quite newly qualified so not used to odd-balls disagreeing with the norm She phoned and booked induction for +14 in the end I think so it'll be fine. I might decide to have a sweep at +6 anyway...

pinkspottywellies · 13/02/2009 12:43

Bleurgh. That's a lot of apricots. I eat 3 as a portion. But you can count them as 2 if you manage 10 - 5-a-day you can count one so I extrapolate that to 10-a-day you can count 2. Don't tell Fran

stuffitllama · 13/02/2009 13:00

I've just been helping out at the school disco. They'd hired special disco entertainers, a man and a woman, who do dancing and shouting and limbo, and that 'macdonalds, macdonalds, kentuckyfriedchicken and a pizza hut' song. It's quite shocking isn't it, that song. I can say that here can't I. I turned to the woman next to me and said 'this is the most deeply offensive song ever made isn't it!' and she looked at me like I was a meany lentil witch.

Franny do you ever do that song?

The girls LOVED every second of it all, and came home, and sand the macdonalds song, and dp glared at me and said 'what have you DONE?'.

Are we uptight wankers?
