It Ain't Nece-celery So - 10 / 10 thread - with new ADDED FOCUS

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I used half plain and half strong before and it came out fine.

Guad, from your posts I would not have said you were a pessimist (sp?)

Fair lady make sure you drink loads to help the cystitis. Hope it goes soon, it's like peeing fire.

Not long now Pink, you're on the home stretch. How very exciting [smile[

ah yes, franny. The lovely life of a dermatologist. Here is my arsenal of creams, which ones shall we pick today?.. ad infinitum.

AtillaTheHoney · 12/02/2009 21:55

Did you give him a sticker and shake his hand Franny?

I think H is reading my mumsnet stuff....shit. Of all things I thought at least we had trust in that sense. If I suddenly stop posting altogether start saving for a wreath.....

I have list .

Will try and get back on track tomorrow...I am eating a piece of homemade flapjack, so big it is giving me lockjaw.

I'm with you Guad on the Angelina principle....I think very few of us do anything without wanting some sort of affirmation for it, and yes, if someone benefits somewhere along the line, so be it..... Sort of.

Fell asleep so now have to work...when the fog clears.

Thanks Pink......hope you are bearing up..{{{{{}}}}}

FairLadyRandySlut · 12/02/2009 22:04

FrayedKnot · 12/02/2009 22:08

Really good use of your time then Franny

Well I did an hour in the gym.

Bean of the cocoa plant.

womblingalong · 12/02/2009 22:09

Hello everyone,

Apple
Banana
plum
carrot
peas
onion
tomato

Franny, nothing worse than than slightly mad dizzy feeling you get from sleep deprivation.

I often felt punch drunk when DS was really bad that first year.

FrayedKnot · 12/02/2009 22:22

FairLadyRandySlut · 12/02/2009 22:26

TooTicky · 12/02/2009 22:41

Hello Fairlady. Just a bit blah I suppose.

Bee, hello.

What happened to Stuffit?

All appropriate wishes to everybody.

BBBee · 12/02/2009 22:42

oh sorry randy slut - skidding is horrid - hope placement is going well.

BBBee · 12/02/2009 22:43

i shouldn't do lists i always miss people. it is nothing personal.

how are you toot?

BBBee · 12/02/2009 22:44

oh the heron I wanted to say something about the heron. I think they are good - they mean good things. I saw one on the last day of my nightmare job - i stood in a park being all wistful and if flew infront of me all beautiful and big.

they mean good things.

BBBee · 12/02/2009 22:45

okay - just a fly by - off to do stuff - boring stuff sadly.

TooTicky · 12/02/2009 22:46

Oh, y'know. How are you Bee?

We get herons by the canal. Sometimes they eat baby moorhens

FairLadyRandySlut · 12/02/2009 22:47

driving in this kind of weather really freaks me out...,maybe had I learned driving in Germany I might have been better prepared...
Placement is brill...I love doing Handtherapy, it's specific...I can do specific ...but also hands are so important...and I see it everyday now...people surprised on the effect their injury/condition has on their life!

Not sure...but someone here might know anyway...basically there are some projects within the department...and I already volunteered to help...but I wonder...how does it work once you are not on Placement...can you still be involved...and whilst having a good learning experience, you also raise your profile a bit...does anyone know if one could volunteer

TooTicky · 12/02/2009 23:30

Do you still have snow Fairlady?

hands are so useful, aren't they? Even small injuries make such a difference.

I would imagine volunteers would always be welcome.

stuffitllama · 13/02/2009 02:20

Morning all, had more apples last night, ate one of them so quickly it gave me hiccups (hiccoughs?)

at succinct bbee

Franny -- shame, but you ticked a box. And that's it, and you can move on. Mamag you really don't do things by halves do you? Fab.

Attila hope things are better this morning.

All the nice people are right about Selma of course. She would not have been able to not have her photo taken and everything helps. But Angelina ..celeb UN ambassadors in general ..hmm.

I find the breast feeding debate a bit unexpected. We just did or didn't. I suppose most people did, average was about 6-8 months and some did a lot more and some struggled and gave up. There just wasn't the enormous passion that surrounds the issue now. Perhaps there was a lot more ff too.

Toot sunshine how unlike you!

Am going to see what is left in the garden today and make planting plans. Also check if the papaya are ready. Mango season is coming up. They are in the shops but not the garden yet so I'm sitting on my hands.

stuffitllama · 13/02/2009 02:22

Fairlady -- no, it was nothing at all you did, please don't fret. It was fb being scammy and annoying.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/02/2009 07:44

Mango and papaya tree's in the garden ....... that sounds so romantic and exotic ......... sigh.

Sainsburys have got cherries and blueberries half price, 3 pink grapefruit for £1, a kilo of rooster potatoes for £1, and quite a few other offers. I've found they have more f&v offers than Tesco. Wow, my life is all glamour, glamour, glamour.

What a bloody waste of time that Dermatologist was. That attitude makes me angry. Here have another cream, not lets find out what the cause it. ggrrrr

I watched Control last night, the film about Ian Curtis (Joy Division). It was so sad. I kept waking in the night thinking about it. There aren't many films that do that to me, but that got under my skin a bit.
