It Ain't Nece-celery So - 10 / 10 thread - with new ADDED FOCUS

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh and I asked one of DS's friends mums round for coffee tomorrow and she said yes AND we're going to go on a long walk through the woods next week and have a picnic (weather permitting)

Haven't I done well?

mollyroger · 12/02/2009 16:35

ah MamaG, my mistake, thought you might be in yorks....

littlerach · 12/02/2009 16:38

WEll doen MamaG.

I have made an appt for dd1 and I to see the dr on WEd.
I also have an appt for dd2's preschool booster that day.

Oh joy

My mum should be here then so she can assist!!

MamaG · 12/02/2009 16:53

Today I have learnt that BioChem is v difficult.

I shall mostly be drinking wine for the rest of the evening.

AtillaTheHoney · 12/02/2009 18:00

MamaG....So pleased you have made a contact.....Hope it is the start of a general improvement for you..

I am going with H to see a counsellor tomorrow after considerable pressure from the powers that be... The deal is that we do it as part of trying to improve family life for DC's, esp DS. But I have issues about it all.

I think refusal would cause problems though.

And then valentines day... bah-(valentines)hum-bug! Am planning on going for a run!!

(would have put that on other thread but it has dropped off my 'threads I am on' list and I can't find it
and I am too lazy to search)

I could have told you that BioChem was going to be difficult OsBa...Lol
(errrr what is it?)

Banana.
Juice,
Tomatoes x 2

I am TRYING to focus but my appetite has sort of disappeared again, just a glitch I guess. It is toooooo cold to eat.

Will have fingers crosed for you on wednesday LR.

Blueberries

Hoorah to MamaG for Going Out!

Guadalupe · 12/02/2009 18:54

Thing is with Selma whatever doing it privately, yes it would have helped in that moment, but it wouldn't have raised any awareness would it? Any chance o that happening must be positive.

Even with intensley irritating Angelina Jolly, I don't really care what her reasons are or whether it's altruistic or not, I don't care for her much, but anything that's done to help anyone is good in the end so I don't really dwell on it.

Have you seen the advert for Brad's new film, the benjamin button one? It looks very odd. I don't think I will like it.

Raisins
cranberries(half portion)
banana
grapes
tomatoes
broccoli
sugar snaps
onions

Guadalupe · 12/02/2009 18:55

It's snowing fat snow again. I hope it lasts.

AtillaTheHoney · 12/02/2009 18:59

Sigh....wish I was going for a run FK....

Tomorrow though!

Enjoy....

I am finding lots of things to do before I work.....

AtillaTheHoney · 12/02/2009 18:59

Sorry...did someone say something?.....

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/02/2009 19:18

I thought the Benjamin Button film looked quite good. I just know it will make me cry though.

Snow here too, yipee.

blueberries
banana
grapefruit (2)
dried fruit
carrots
cauliflower
cucumber
humous
sweetcorn
peas

Guad are you a optimistic person? I would like to say I am and on the whole I like to find the best in people/situations, but I find I get more cynical as I get older - and I don't like it.

Boco · 12/02/2009 19:22

Hello, just got in - we had Evie's hospital consultants appointment this afternoon and were there for about 2 hours. It snowed all the way home, a lot . And, when we came out of the hospital and turned the corner, there was a little pond, and a heron flew up in front of us - as in two feet in front of us, and we all 3 screamed.

Poor dd had lots of bloods taken and she's feeling very miserable. Fantastic consultant though who let me go through my big list of questions.

Not eaten yet, am starving.

mollyroger · 12/02/2009 19:25

I have nothing to declare - except my tedium.

Feel crappy, but I think it's because it's been a really full-on fortnight and my body knows it can have a day off tomorrow - next week is very busy too

DH is cooking - well, I say cooking...he has purchased some sort of curry readymeal from Twatrose. Sadly, with buggar all veg.
And I have mananged to wriggle out of reading Captain Underpants tonight.

Atilla - good luck with counselling stuff
MamaG - you sound like you're really getting yourself out and about - hope it's fun

hello everyone else. I won't hug, I may be contagious....x

pinkspottywellies · 12/02/2009 19:38

It's snowing again That is not ok

Feather My co-op pharmacy in the village got my Spatone in - doesn't stock it but I phoned first thing in the morning and they had it by lunchtime.

I want the snow to GO AWAY.

Huzzah for mamag going out. My fabulous friend (whose dd I'm now godmother to and whose ds and my dd adore each other) was the first person I met randomly at toddlers and baby massage. She is going to have dd when I go into labour.

mollyroger · 12/02/2009 19:57

where is Toot?

mollyroger · 12/02/2009 19:58

and how are you Pink?

Guadalupe · 12/02/2009 19:59

Lemur, no I would say I am a pessimist and a cynic really. I suppose what I mean is that it doesn't matter about intentions or motivations in the long run if something good comes out of it. If being the important word.

pinkspottywellies · 12/02/2009 20:01

I'm ok thanks Molly. Going to bed in a minute though - very tired. I've got a midwife appt in the morning and am 39 weeks on Sat

I'm still convinced I'll go about 10 days overdue though. Just wish I knew exactly when and how it's going to happen. I hate the uncertainty and not having specifics in my diary

littlerach · 12/02/2009 20:07

Pink, if you go 10 days over, it might be My Birthday

Then you have to name him FTER ME, OK

oops.

Veg soup, to add to previous portions.

littlerach · 12/02/2009 20:08

oh, also, Molly, or anyone else who makes bread, do you have to use bread flour in a machine???

pinkspottywellies · 12/02/2009 20:11

You want me to call him Little? Think I might get some funny looks

FairLadyRandySlut · 12/02/2009 21:05
