It Ain't Nece-celery So - 10 / 10 thread - with new ADDED FOCUS

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

list: a choir buffet at which I ate as much fruit as cake

strawberries
grapes
a very odd tasting apple, I PERSONALLY think it was guava but the hostess said not

about 2

so 4 so far

franny I agree with you about Selma, I mean, nice and so on but am deeply cynical about all these UN amabssadors anyway and Angelina Jolly Wolly makes me cross in a very unreasonable way

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/02/2009 09:34

I only knew it was Girls Aloud cos the DJ said so

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/02/2009 09:36

Angelina pisses me off too. Save the earth, adopt her rainbow family, but fly around in private jets and wear stupid price clothes etc etc.

What is a choir buffet? Did you actually eat a choirister?!

stuffitllama · 12/02/2009 09:37

yeah right Lemur

FrannyandZooey · 12/02/2009 09:38

there was a bit of formula bashing there, that doesn't really help

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/02/2009 09:42

In the words of Franny 'the chubby wristed one is awake' I suppose I better go get him!

womblingalong · 12/02/2009 09:43

Do you know what (RE: Salma), I don't care if it was a bit of a photo oppy, I think the fact that a celebrity/film star has done this, has raised the profile of the issue, and might influence the public in a positive way. So IMO, Go for it Salma!

Stuffit I shall await your call

AtillaTheHoney · 12/02/2009 09:44

Have a bit of listening to radio essex

Actually...I do want to take the time to say a massive thank-you for all the lovely support and suggestions I got from people at the beginning of the year. I was very self absorbed but was a bit frightened by some of the things the doc said. I also panic that my depression will come back and struggled to get out of a downward spiral.

For what it is worth, it really helped to get it out of my system and I am learning to manage things until a marked improvement actually occurs.

So thank you very much...xx

FrannyandZooey · 12/02/2009 09:50

wombling you are right of course
it is a great thing she has done - it's wrong to say "but she should have done MORE / done it privately" etc

i do wish i knew what will happen to the baby next, though
i know there are millions of babies in same position, but....

FrannyandZooey · 12/02/2009 09:51

attila i hope things continue to improve for you

You know Franny, I think you are right too, it isn't wrong to think she should have done more/done it privately, it would have been a much more noble and selfless act if she had. However, she did do something, perhaps it was an impulsive act, perhaps it was more pre-meditated, who knows, but even that guestere has raised the profile of the issue, and mad us ask questions, and that is better than if she had done nothing, I think.

I desperately want to know what happened to that baby boy too, btw. One breastfeed isn't going to keep him alive.

womblingalong · 12/02/2009 10:13

gesture, I can spell honest, just can't type....
