Original post by the lovely FrannyandZooey

For anyone who wants to boost their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - If you don't normally eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 mins is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restictions on what you eat as long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving your energy levels and hopefully mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you are getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Boco · 02/02/2009 18:48

Boco · 02/02/2009 18:50

I wasn't planning on getting it, because I no longer have any toddlers, and I don't think I'm in it.

courgette
carrot
sweet potato
onion
green beans
red pepper
tomatoes
apples
satsuma
grapes

BINGO

Boco · 02/02/2009 18:52

Why do you think I've been notably omitted?

FrannyandZooey · 02/02/2009 18:53

join me here chaps

ahundredtimes · 02/02/2009 18:53

Wow Boco, you really ate today. [impressed]

I think it's fun this book. I suspect my top tips gleaned from the Puppy training manual are also not in it.

Maybe MNers will flip through in the bookshop to see if they are in it and then buy it?

Boco · 02/02/2009 18:56

I made a casserole - which involved doing shop at co-op on foot with 2 wet children. I was v. proud and started it at 3pm.

Dp went to the supermarket as we are out of stuff, and came back with catfood and 2 types of flour.

I am about to go to a wholesale cooperative meeting. I know some people who will be there but mostly not.

I am going to look serious and hold my pencil meaningfully and nod with interest when the talk turns to kilos of this and bags of that.

I have looked at the book and it made my brain hurt but I must give it a go.

pinkspottywellies · 02/02/2009 19:15

Apple
Salad
Coleslaw
Spag bol, so toms, onion, pepper

Oh. I thought I'd done better than that. Ah, raisins and banana in muffins made from Franny's cake recipe.

My friend rang this morning - her friend's who were coming for lunch cancelled cause of the snow so she brought the lunch round and then played with dd while I had 2 hours sleep. Then DH came home early and has been helpful. Good day.

I hope you got some comfort out of the discussion about ds 100x Lots of lovely posts from these lovely ladies. He actually sounds pretty sussed about it all and has integrity and lots of sense. He will go on to great things but it must be hard when you just want him to be ok now.
