Original post by the lovely FrannyandZooey

For anyone who wants to boost their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - If you don't normally eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 mins is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restictions on what you eat as long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving your energy levels and hopefully mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you are getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Yes, compromise is good Guad re the floor. Stick out for your door, you are right and it will always annoy you if you don't do it. Light is very important.

TWF, I hope the counselling does help you and yours. Am sorry though, it sounds like hard work.

Tatties, how lovely to see you! I know what you mean, I'm not sure I'm used to it myself but at least it is a meaningful name (to me). Sometimes i see posts by myself and think ''who the fuck is that...?''

Tatties, I was trying to find a Smiths track which represented your Core Values. But much as I love him, they are all a little depressing downbeat to represent you.

Though I do claim Please please let me... as my theme song on bad days!

I am tempted to give franny this

like a true nature's child

what do you think?

mollyroger · 30/01/2009 14:16

100 - this week's title is based on Starman by popular beat artist Mr David Bowie. I believe he used to be played on the radiogramme quite often.

What was pointy's title?
TWF just dived in in order to save us from falling offa the edge of the world!

ahundredtimes · 30/01/2009 14:24

Ah yes. Was he the genial cove who liked to delight audiences by wearing silver trousers and make-up?

mollyroger · 30/01/2009 14:27

we-ell technically that could apply to Freddie Mercury. Or Wizzard. Or (ulp) Garry Glitter...

or even this absolute classic

But yes!

TinyOnlyABitBlueNowFeather · 30/01/2009 14:31

Slaps forehead,

And there was me promising myself I would stop apologising for my very existance and I bugger up the protocol of the thread title...

many felicitations pointy, but if I sleep, every thing that passed before is long gone, please feel free to start anew....

I shall duly get my coat/ throw myself in the pit and birch myself appropriately.

We shall just have to talk even more than normal to get the other one in quick

TinyOnlyABitBlueNowFeather · 30/01/2009 14:33

Oh for a silver jumpsuit......sigh!

Cracking tunes molly.

Boco · 30/01/2009 14:33

Wow, whose core values are they?

I want a core values song!

mollyroger · 30/01/2009 14:33

TWF check out my link, if it don't raise a smile, slap my buttocks with a wet kipper and send me to the Ukraine

ahundredtimes · 30/01/2009 14:34

What was pointy's title?

Self-flagellation seems a tad harsh TWF. And I'm Mary Poppins, so you know I speak the crisp truth.

mollyroger · 30/01/2009 14:34

Boco I'm working on it!!

Boco · 30/01/2009 14:36

God you ARE so Mary Poppins 100! It's the sweet smile and sit up straight, with a menacing underbelly of laudanum addiction. Well, no, I made up the addiction. But the other stuff is right.

TinyOnlyABitBlueNowFeather · 30/01/2009 14:37

Sounds like fun Molly!

ahundredtimes · 30/01/2009 14:39

No I like laudanum bit. Is the best bit. I think Mary Poppins has something of the opiate lover about her.

She's seriously weird and unsettling in the books. Have you read them? I love her. Unsentimental. She takes no prisoners Mary Poppins.

Guadalupe · 30/01/2009 14:39

LOLOL, Mary Poppins, yes, that has personified my rather vague perception.

Right, who needs some medicine?

Calm down, form an orderly queue now..

Guadalupe · 30/01/2009 14:40

You have got medicine haven't you, 100x?

Boco · 30/01/2009 14:43

She definitely has hasn't she! I thought you said you like laudanum 'a bit' then.

mollyroger · 30/01/2009 14:43

I adore the books, haven't read them for years....yes, yes, she also had a lot of male admirers IIRC.

ahundredtimes · 30/01/2009 14:48

Oh yes she's all about restrained sexuality. [happy sigh]

I actually DO think that a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down too.

And I also think a brisk walk on a windy day does everyone a lot of good. There was a time when that was my sole advice to every trouble on MN: go for a walk.

I have told Boco to do her bootstraps up tightly and go for many a walk.

Bootstraps! See! I am Mary Poppins. Suddenly my whole life is making sense to me for the first time.

pinkspottywellies · 30/01/2009 14:49

My core values song is Madonna - Material Girl When I went on hols with my uni friends after we graduated we all had a tshirt made up with a Madge song and when we were picking songs everyone looked straight at me and said 'Material Girl'!

Can't keep up with all the chat and don't like the new layout I didn't even have the last one - I customised to the original.

Saw midwife this morning. All fine. DH was very helpful last night - finally! We wrote a birth plan and he washed up and made his own packed lunch. Oh but then he took dd to friend's this morning and took my car key to work after getting car seat out so I had to sprint to the midwife

Tired again now!

Boco · 30/01/2009 14:52

Molly you could go into business! Revealing people's true selves to them through the medium of music videos. You have a gift.

Yes, you've made me go for a brisk walk many times 100, in all weathers and through all manner of personal dilemma. Are you sure it's not just a way of saying 'oh piss off malingerer' ?

I drew you bootstraps.

TinyANiceShadeOfLilacFeather · 30/01/2009 14:53

oh, the healing powers of music..cheers Molly, I owe you one!

ahundredtimes · 30/01/2009 14:55

I bloody loved them Boco. I am looking at them now. You know in that picture I LOOK like Mary Poppins, all trim and purposeful.

Unfortunately I'm not trim, but I have purpose.

Molly. Is a gift. Who needs a wheel of life or a life coach when you have You Tube.

Has been a revelation. I'm going now to get my umbrella and hat pins, and make my dc wear aprons in the house and I am going to practise my don't mess with me I'm on opium nanny glare.

I'm SO HAPPY

MamaG · 30/01/2009 14:55

I WANT SOME CORE VALUES

at the moment they are

redundant (bastard work)
