Original post by the lovely FrannyandZooey

For anyone who wants to boost their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - If you don't normally eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 mins is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restictions on what you eat as long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving your energy levels and hopefully mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you are getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 16:29

mollyroger · 01/02/2009 16:49

I have a headache caused by the vast quantities of cheapo Italian plonk excitement of actually going out last night.

Free range chick in oven with sweet pots, cabbage and bacon, green beans, carrots, broccli and leeks and yosk and sage and onion stuffing all ready to rock and roll.

100, please may I find a way of outing myself as an aquaitance of yours to our mutual friend? The strain of not talking about your book with her is killing me. Are you on facebook? Could we not say you are a friend of a friend?? Agh!

We have a friend coming for dinner and the house is on the verge of a landslide of stuff, as I sort out kitchen. Did i mention my 99p dishwasher?

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 16:51

Molly, yosk?

Oh, and dishwashers are for wimps

FrannyandZooey · 01/02/2009 16:51

i have been out in the snow with ds2
ds1 and dp went swimming
brrrr
i bought 2 hats for me, long thick socks, thermal top and trousers for me, thermal trousers for ds1, and 2 pairs of warm pyjamas for ds1
brrrrr

it will now turn to glorious mild spring weather won't it?

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 16:52

we have no snow, just horrid coldness and wind

FrannyandZooey · 01/02/2009 16:53

LOL at pork action

i have skinny boys too
ds1 was quite a chubber at this age but you can already see ds2 is going to be 6 ft tall and like a rake
ds1 ribs and all - plus pale skin so if has bad night's sleep looks like poster boy for nspcc

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 16:58

what, in spite of those little fat wrists?

SuperBunny · 01/02/2009 17:32

Avi, I'll arrive about the same time as Stuffit, so plase save some for us. I'm happy to eat leftovers. What was in the custard, stuffit? What is floral dance?

Molly, I am sure your DS is too good for those girls anyway. Lego much better. Did he have fun on his trip? Where did he go?

TF, not sure what to suggest - I'd just let her eat whatever she fancies. My DS eats constantly and you can count his ribs. It looks scary but I know he is ok. He weighs the same as my friend's 9 month old baby.. Make sure DD is drinking enough - maybe juice/ chocolate milk to give her a bit more energy. I am going to look for the thread 100 mentioned.

MamaG and, Polly, how wonderful.

I went to an all girls school, too. They'd send male teaching students - 20 year old men into a school of 1000 hormonal teenage girls. They often left before their time was up, poor things. Was like sending a gladiator into the ring, really. Not much hope for them. Madness.

ahundredtimes · 01/02/2009 17:40

lol @ poster boy and at pork action.

Guad I cooked lovely pork belly recipe out of Leon cookbook at NY.

Polly are you a name changer?

I am cooking roast lamb with garlic and rosemary, roast pots and sweet pots, broccoli and green beans.

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 17:44

oh god, I should be cooking, shouldn't I?

SuperBunny · 01/02/2009 17:53

Toot, what would happen if you didn't cook?

ahundred, that sounds delicious. It is my favourite meal and I could consider not being vegetarian for that. I am sooooo hungry and I can smell your lamb

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 17:57

My children would get more vociferous in their hunger and I'd have to cook anyway

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 17:58

that was supposed to be not but somebody spoke to me

SuperBunny · 01/02/2009 18:07

Oh dear, best go and feed them then, hungry children are not much fun.

FrannyandZooey · 01/02/2009 18:08

i think polly is one of those new people who seems like they fit, so everyone says "who were you?"

or of course she could be a returning moldie

you are welcome either way polly
you and your dysfunctional family of cazalets (i haven't read them but assume they are dysfunctional if an interesting story has been written about them)

TooTicky · 01/02/2009 18:08

I have inertia. I am standing by cooker but nothing is happening.
