For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hi MoveIT well done with the parking - I could only park my instructors car because he marked the back seat and when the curb was at that bit of the seat you swung your hands the other way IYSWIM

Enjoy your walk. I love sleeping with lo, my 2.6 year old DS still spends half the night with us

daisy99divine · 22/01/2009 11:11

And as for the Moon - I got a telescope for Christmas [smug] not that I can work it yet, I can't even set it up
but I have two books on the moon and stars, and there are four phases of the moon don't you know!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/01/2009 11:26

Hi Daisy. My instructor had those markings too but I could never fathom them out. It was only when someone showed me how to use the wing mirrors to park that my parking improved. Before then I mostly pulled into a space

littlerach · 22/01/2009 11:30

Wow, telescope sounds brilliant.

You all talk way too much at night.

I failed my driving test twice on reverse parking and round corners. I can do the katter but not the parking. I have had to on a couple of occasions and get all hot and bothered. I'd rather park a long way away and walk

My friend has had a baby girl
I am so pleased when other people have babies.

raisins

daisy99divine · 22/01/2009 11:43

Well done friend.

I used to get hot and bothered because my instructor kept patting my knee to help me "concentrate"

Ooooh, do raisins count?

Then I am on bananas and raisins

And blueberries in muffin

littlerach · 22/01/2009 13:59

Soup with carrots, celery, sweet ptaoeta (yes, mor eleft overs)

mymama · 22/01/2009 15:09

You ladies are very friendly. I might stick around if you don't mind. You will find me posting at odd hours because I am at the rear end of the world.

Tis 1am here now.

fruit salad

SuperBunny · 22/01/2009 15:10

does anyone know what the very bright white star is - it's been there 1st onre out the past few nights, in the western bit of the sky. I think it is a planet because it is really too bright to be a star.

What do you mean abot 4 phases of the moon, Daisy? Like waxing gibbous & all that?

littlerach · 22/01/2009 15:11

Hmm, I htink i've seen that one, SB, at the weekend. It is on it's own, not next to others?

My grandmother phoned the pther weekend to say she could see Venus in the sky. I have no idea if she could.

littlerach · 22/01/2009 15:12

Hello mymama.

What wa sin your fruit salad

mymama · 22/01/2009 15:26

Peach, pear and pineapple. Not really a salad I suppose.

daisy99divine · 22/01/2009 15:27

Yes SB, I mean waxing and gibbous and all that and I am mighty impressed by you

actually, I was reading the book and kept thinking ""Oh oh oh, the waxing gibbous" to the tune of the Goodies and I got a bit giggly and unserious about it all

I think it's sirrus the dog star

lettuce and tomato

Guadalupe · 22/01/2009 16:06

Waxing gibbous is such a strange term isn't it?

Hello, mymama.

The builders have begun! It's so exciting. They ripped out the kitchen upstairs and loads of carpets and the garden is full of rubbish already. They think they'll have removed the chimney and wall in the kitchen within a couple of weeks. Now I just have to plan how I want the end. Utility and loo/shower off a lobby with clear door to the garden, or a larder and door to the right. Hmm.

I mustn't go too often though. I think I was getting in their way today milling round and hmmming to myself. The young labourer was quite good looking. I hope he is over 21 or I will feel like a perv.

daisy99divine · 22/01/2009 16:19

Guad! How exciting!

FrannyandZooey · 22/01/2009 16:49

waxing gibbous is my FAVOURITE phase of the moon [pseud]
makes us a bit bonkers though

I like waxing gibberish.

pinkspottywellies · 22/01/2009 18:29

I can reverse park and paralell. I reverse better than I go forwards. I could usually reverse onto a postage stamp. At the moment however I am shite. I weave all over the place getting the car onto my (wide) drive

pinkspottywellies · 22/01/2009 18:31

Sweet almond oil for nails SB - rub it in as often as you remember like about 3 times a day.

I am so excited Guad - is there any way you could / would share some before and after photos? Please go round often so we can hear about the goodlooking builder progress they are making.

I am tired and I have promised myself gym & swim tonight.

Franny how are you getting on with everything?

I am definitely waxing gibberish atm.

I have a slight dilemma - well, just an awkward situation, I would like some advice.

Someone at work handed me a poem yesterday. The poem seemed to be suggesting this person is interested in me in a way which is not reciprocated at all. I feel really embarassed about it....I need to let them know how things are - in a kind but not encouraging way. It's not a creepy situation, but I just want to kind of make things clear iyswim.

Trouble is I know my embarrasment might come over as being either bitchy or ridiculing the person, and I don;t want that.

pinkspottywellies · 22/01/2009 18:39

OOooh Guad how exciting about the house andthehotyoungbuilder!!

Much better today. I shall list:
kiwis
blueberries
dried apricots
peanut butter
orange juice
beans

Ok so I did well this morning but probably won't win any prizes for the rest of the day. But hey, at least I've got breakfast back on track

Oh and Franny, I was joking - I'm not counting the peanut butter!
