For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I can;t reverse park because in the olden days we didn;t have to do it for the test.

I am very envious of anyone who can actually do it properly.

I have a small car and look for big spaces.

TooTicky · 21/01/2009 22:31

I have a big car and look for big spaces.....

Tatties · 21/01/2009 22:37

Hi FK

TooT I have replied

We got rid of our car but it was small and I looked for big spaces too. I don't think I have reverse parked since passing my test either

FrayedKnot · 21/01/2009 22:41

Tatties! Tell us stuff!

Although I have to go to bed, but I will read it tomorrow, I promise.

I don;t want to think of you being lonely, TooT

I hope soemone stays who can do late nights better than me.

Night all x

TooTicky · 21/01/2009 22:45

It's okay FK, I am off to bed soon.

OH, and mn definitely has an addictive quality to it, I agree...
And 100's line of Be good veggars, you are in my fruity thoughts would make a good Thread-title I think!

Tiny, you bein iron deficient really doesn't make sense...

Olivia...you are terrible (says she who had a dire intake of anything healthy today...)

Guad...sounds all great!

TooTicky · 21/01/2009 22:53

Oh oh I ate peas and carrot and leek AND I had root veg soup (non-whizzed).

Really off to bed now.

Tatties · 21/01/2009 22:56

I don't know what to say FK! It is good to be where we are now but still taking a bit of adjustment. Winter is a difficult time to do things I think. Roll on spring!

TooT I have replied again

Hello FairLady

I must bed now, night night xxx

SuperBunny · 22/01/2009 00:01

Happy Birthday little carrot

I'd love a swede - they're hard to find here.

Well done on swimming, Pink. Why will you have MN maternity leave? Why will you not be posting on here all day every day?

I am an expert parallel parker. It is the only thing I am good at. I can get into the tiniest space in 1 go.

banana
blueberries (2)
grapes
1/2 blood orange
apple
juice
collard greens (2)
olives
artichoke hearts

Ten, i reckon

and I am going back on what I said about coconuts. I bought a young one (one of those white pointy ones) today and it was vile so must count for something.

TinyWhiteFeather · 22/01/2009 03:54

Ear-lobes....shudders with delight..mmmmmmmmm

I can park my bike, does that count for anything?
I am always in awe of people that can reverse those huuuge lorries. They sometimes reverse onto our drive and I watch with my heart in my mouth.

DD is awake !

I think I joined Ravelry but never have the time to visit the site...too busy knitting!

Oh blimey, I am going back to bed if DD will let me.

SuperBunny · 22/01/2009 04:04

Hope she goes back to sleep Feather.

Anyone know any non-gelatin ways of making nails grow again - mine are all split and breaking and I want nice longs ones again I seem to remember eating jelly being quite good in the past.

TooTicky · 22/01/2009 05:28

at your parking SB. I am crap at that but, living where we do, I rarely have to totally embarrass myself do it.
We have a space at the back of the house, and in town it's all car parks.

Feather - hope you both slept!!!!!

I don't know about nails. Isn't vitamin E good for nails?
And if they are splitting you are deficient in something but I can't remember what [helpful]

mymama · 22/01/2009 05:53

I haven't joined in on these thread even though I need to.

Just wanted to say how much I love the thread titles and this one made me lol (and now the song is stuck in my head)

TooTicky · 22/01/2009 05:55

Hey mymama, good to see you. Are you an earlybird, an insomniac or living somewhere where it isn't five to six?

mymama · 22/01/2009 06:30

Am in Australia. Tis 4:30pm here.

Am still singing "I shot the Sherrif" to myself with an image of celery in my mind.

Am about to head off to work for the evening.

TooTicky · 22/01/2009 06:43

Nice to meet you mymama. Go and eat celery then come back and tell us about it

TinyWhiteFeather · 22/01/2009 07:18

SB, I use an oil based product (it contains mineral oils, grapeseed oils and sweet almond oil) on my nails and as long as I put it on a couple of times a week they are much improved.
I also use a nail buffer system that apparently helps bring out the natural oils in your nails, and it makes them look lovely without any polish.
I had dreadful nails so I am very impressed.

mymama, hello, do stay, how can you leave now that you have met some of us

DD and I fell asleep together on the sofa, coccooned in her big furry throw and she kept covering me up because she didn't want me to get cold (melts).

Busy day today, so cheerio for now....

mangolassi · 22/01/2009 08:27

am overwhelmed at number of posts, can't get through it all.

tiny, have been meaning to tell you for aaages that my friend who's an artist has had little desk calendars printed, they're gorgeous... think about it for 2010 maybe? I'll buy one along with the pack of cards you promised last year

Not so good today though, will go and eat more fruit then list

Goodness, I can't keep up! Got through thread last night and was poised to post when DS woke up so that was that!

Trying again today!

TWF I just don't go for nuts, sorry. Used to like those honey roasted cashews, but only for the honey and I ballooned about 2 stone just looking at them [sigh]

Guad wow at 2 year old, I know what you mean, my DS was 2.6 last week and I can't believe it, plus he has just started nursery 3 mornings - going out alone it seems too much

Franny ditto with 6 month old baby - just met friend with 2 week old and my DS seems clunkingly huge... don't worry about friend, just don't walk into house and shout "I smell quinoua"

Molly Go With The Tuck - I think it's a must

TooT sorry to miss you, I am usually a late night yurter, sorry about cold hands, and missed washing up saga but things sound a bit tough to sending loving vibes

Mymama welcome!

BBBee bit yucked out by IKEA chair image. We were going to go and buy DS a big bed this weekend, not sure I can face it now

Pink well done for swimming. You are marvellous - TooT has snaffled the Sticker Locker key so you had been send her a 10 point guide for sticker allocation....

SB someone on another thread suggested Happy Hoofs for nails - it's for horses hooves - but I assume they were joking!

Hello to everyone else, Tatties, Avi, 100, Boco

daisy99divine · 22/01/2009 10:32

Banana

That's it

Pathetic I know

But 20 minutes on bike so nailed the exercise bit

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/01/2009 10:55

Morning ladies

Looks like I missed last nights shenanigans again, but I'm glad I went to bed early as ds decided to have numerous parties in his cot starting at 3am. Am very bleary eyed so we are going to go for LONG LONG walk to help blow the cobwebs away. But we'll only go once ds gets up from his nap (3 hours so far so I'm going to go and wake him).

I can't be mad at him though as one of his cheeks is bright red today, so I've fished the Nelson teetha's out for him. DH brought him into our bed when we couldn't settle him for the umpteenth time and he then zonked out. I forgot how lovely it is to sleep with a lo, he was like a little furnace keeping us warm

So far

whole grapefruit
banana
oj

Oh, and I can reverse and parallel park. Infact yesterday I parallel parked in a space that was only about 10 inches longer than our car. I was well pleased and a guy walking past congratulated me for parking in the space (and no he wasn't taking the piss!). I was stupidly pleased with myself

God I'm rambling, I'll get my coat ......
