For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Are you new FairLady, or a namechanger? So welcome if it is the first and hello! if the latter.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Toot.

I haven't figured out how to put pics on my profile, it asks me really complicated questions and frightens me.

FairLadyRantALot · 07/01/2009 14:56

littlerach, here the recipe:
Moorish chickpeas

-1 large onion, chopped
-2 garlic cloves, crushed
-1 green pepper, deseeded and sliced
-2x 397g/14oz cans chickpeas, drained
-397g/14oz can chopped tomatoes
-sa;t and freshly ground pepper
-1 tsp. each ground cumin, dried oregano and cayenne pepper
-198g/7oz can sweetcorn, drained

Place all the ingredients , dxcept the sweetcorn, in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 20minutes. Season to taste and stir in teh sweetcorn just beofre serving. Delicioous hot or cold, so it says

Freezer friendly
ready in 25 minutes
serves 4

oh, I add a bit of sweetener to it, about a tablespoon, because I find it enhances the flavours

littlerach · 07/01/2009 15:05

Wow, thanks FairLady, may do that at weekend.

Do you serve it on it's own?

FairLadyRantALot · 07/01/2009 15:07

yeah...\I tend to have it as lunch......but I reckon it might be nice with rice, too...t has some sort of curryish feel to it

TinyWhiteFeather · 07/01/2009 15:40

has anyone got any time to look at this please?

TooTicky · 07/01/2009 15:49

FairLady has shared her recipe for Moorish chickpeas

Sinkingfast - Seeds DO NOT count.

ILiketomoveit continues to shame us with her impressive F&V list.

I have eaten:

Sultanans, raisins, banana, onion, tomatoes, olives = 5

TigerFeet · 07/01/2009 18:33

We have not had any snow [strop]

It has snowed everywhere apart from here. DH works six miles up the road and it snowed there. We were in the next town along the other day and it snowed there.

But here? Not a goddam flake

Does celeriac count? I do hope so. THe celeriac I will eat with my tea later will bring my total today to a semi respectable 7.

Guadalupe · 07/01/2009 18:36

There is ice everywhere here but no snow.

I have not eaten any fruit or veg today except for cress in my egg mayonnaise.

Must try harder.

SuperBunny · 07/01/2009 18:39

We have more snow Ice will come later.

SuperBunny · 07/01/2009 18:40

Toot, what lovely pictures. your DC are gorgeous. Did you crochet those hand/ wrist cuff things? I would like to have a go at something like that. Cake is v impressive too.

Guadalupe · 07/01/2009 18:44

Oh yes, gorgeous pictures, toot! I love them. DD1 is so familiar for some reason, I know I've met her once but I feel like I know her well.

Is that your front gate further down? It's unbearably lovely. I yearn for the country.
