For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

i don't like to make people worry but am much comforted by kind words and concern. Part of me hopes it IS an infection because then hopefully I can take something to kick it in the butt and I will feel like a normal healthy person for a change. I am going to give him a list of my other ailments and see if they are connected. He has the 'bedside manner' of a hippopotamus with tootheache, but is IMO a very good doctor.

(Dim emoticon) what is Bedales?

FairLady, try not to worry about your placement (not easy I know), I should imagine you will wing it.

I'm sure someone somewhere asked me if I knew a name but can't find it now, but I didn't recognise the name when I read it and can't remember whose post it was. Was it an Artist?

at pj party tomorrow SB, would be on the next plane if I could be. (bearing tasty goodies).
I am hecticly(?) busy with work , might do some now whilst it is peaceful

I bribe my DS to get dresssed with Fried Egg sandwiches FK!! (He is 10).He was the kind to be still in his underpants and one sock 1/2 hr after being asked to get dressed. Have SO done the getting to school with steam coming out of my ears.

SuperBunny · 15/01/2009 00:52

TWF, don't be silly. No-one minds worrying - we only do it because we care and we want you to be well. I think he sounds good - bedside manner is all very well but sometimes you need someone who is an excellent medic and being nice is less of of priority

It was me - I asked you if you know T e r r y S h a v e - he's an artist in your neck of the woods - teaches not far from you. Doesn't matter if you don't know of him, I was just wondering.

Bedales is a private school for rich people who don't want their children to have normal lessons or do exams. They do lots of cool stuff.

dooneygirl · 15/01/2009 01:17

Sorry about all the tests, TWF. I hope they can figure out something quickly, and it is something easily taken care of.

Glowy lady?

hello all, hello Lully!

Toot I'm sorry that your ds (and you) have to go through all that again. It had looked rather hopeful too hadn't it. What happens after the op.. how soon will you know about the future? Buggery bolleaux. Poor little man.

Trip sounds excellent. Dh used to live in Greenwich and our kitchen table was from the Sunday market. I remember it as a "blowy" sort of place. But miles from anywhere or is it all different now with better connections.

The carrots in the garden are getting smaller and smaller as we eat so many we are getting desperate and pulling them too soon. But there is still lots of cauli and cabbage, and that huge white radish.

Mou I hope you find out soon what's up. I suppose you just need to know so you can get on with doing something about it.

Avi thanks for encouraging words on that other thread, I didn't know you were that way inclined also

stuffitllama · 15/01/2009 02:29

Bunny your f and v talk is almost illegal. So much varied stuff and so much stuff full stop. Am at minus thirty but what a lovely excuse to stay in by the fire (I hope you have one) and read books.

SuperBunny · 15/01/2009 02:34

Wonders what on earth stuffit is thank Avi for...

We do not have a fire - only a tiny apartment with a radiator. Hopefully it will keep us warm enough. We have lots of blankets and a hot water bottle, so we'll be cosy.

Dooney - edammame hummous? homemade? edible?

dooneygirl · 15/01/2009 02:38

Figs, I forgot figs. Do figs count if they're stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in prosciutto? I had 4. So I guess that's figs x 2.

Edamame hummous it is pretty good.

dooneygirl · 15/01/2009 02:41

Oh, crap. The DC's are all over me, and I'm not thinking. That's the pesto I made today, too. edamame hummous Really, this time. The kids and I like it.

SuperBunny · 15/01/2009 02:45

I just don't think I can like Edammame. I have tried.

I love pesto. We eat it with everything but are back to shop bought stuff because we ran out of homegrown frozen pesto

dooneygirl · 15/01/2009 02:49

I don't really like it that much, either, but I do like that. I use cilantro instead of the parsley, and I think that and the tahini help to make it taste better. I don't love it, but I like it.

SuperBunny · 15/01/2009 02:51

OMG

I was on Etsy and saw they had vegan food and I clicked and found vegan vulvas

dooneygirl · 15/01/2009 02:56

Umm. . . . .

(Giggles uncontrollably)

stuffitllama · 15/01/2009 03:00

the hoummous looks good. have never tried. looks nicer than the chocolate bits and pieces fer sure

nothing secret Bunny just don't want to bring other stuff here because it's one where people have such different views

people are coming for choir practice today, am giving them amongst other stuff banana cake with linseed and pinenuts (two of those three don't count I know but it will be a big one and v nice

stuffitllama · 15/01/2009 03:01

btw Toot I also have why can't we just be normal followed by fridge door slamming

and why does everything have to be brown

SuperBunny · 15/01/2009 03:10

Hope everything is ok stuffit - didn't mean to pry.

The good thing about having DC not in school is that they don't know what is 'normal' and what is not. It is lovely to see my boy tucking into a pile of assorted beans and wholegrain couscous, blissfully unaware that his friends are scoffing chicken nuggets and cheese fries.

Aren't they rude, Dooney? I had to click on the close up pic to insepct further

dooneygirl · 15/01/2009 04:06

I told DD they were flowers.

Am I wrong to be beyond relieved it is their bed time? And to be really happy that I somehow don't put them to bed correctly, so daddy has to do it?

SuperBunny · 15/01/2009 04:49

Flowers. Yes, mine looks just like a flower, I'm sure.

Bedtime relief here most nights

stuffitllama · 15/01/2009 04:53

Have uploaded some photos to the work of the devil fb

SuperBunny · 15/01/2009 05:05

stuffitllama · 15/01/2009 05:44

stuffitllama · 15/01/2009 05:46

maybe I should put them on the profile here

stuffitllama · 15/01/2009 05:47

none of your rosebuds in this house

dooneygirl · 15/01/2009 05:51

flowers my fanny

I can't stop laughing at that. I already had to have a discussion today about how she did not look like her brother down there. I didn't need any more discussions.

TooTicky · 15/01/2009 07:01

Stuffit, I saw your photos just now - they are lovely
Your children look very clean and glowy. Must be all the abnormal brown stuff they eat
