For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Ds2 seems to have developed double vision. Good thing we are going to the hospital tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's not permanent or anything.

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 18:07

Toot, that sounds a bit worrying. Hope it is nothing serious.

stuffitllama · 13/01/2009 18:49

thinking of you all but caught up techwise elsewhere
Toot I hope he is alright. The same eye?
Guad congratulations
Tiny I like your work

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/01/2009 19:43

Toot - I hope your ds is ok and that you get some answers tomorrow.

Congrats Guad. You've now got months of renovations ahead of you We can bitch and moan together as we are extending our house at the moment....... I say we, actually DH is! We're doubling the size of the original house and dh is doing it in his spare time, so we're in it for the long haul.

banana
apple x 2
carrot
cucumber
hummus
gherkins
pepper x2
onion
mushrooms

I have included gherkins as Franny isn't here to cuff us round the back of the head, call us bastards and then throw us in the pit. As they say, while the teacher's away the kids will play

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2009 19:46

TooT my dd gets double vision at times - the optometrist says that it's down to her brain having forgotten how to process images properly because she could hardly see out of her wonky eye for so long - now her vision in that eye is much better but her brain needs time to adjust to processing two images into one. She saw it as a good sign as it means the eye is working independently. Hopefully it's a similar thing for your ds.

Ooooh Guad how exciting, hope your sipping champagne in your new domain as I type

TWF you are very talented, I love that you have such a variety of styles. I have zero artistic talent, I struggle to draw people and cars for dd!

Careful Lemur, Franny will be cross

TigerFeet · 13/01/2009 19:54

Oh hello Franny! lol @ cross posts! Oooh we are allowed gherkins How was your trip?

littlerach · 13/01/2009 19:55

TooT, do you know, I thought I saw that before Xmas, then I drove past a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find it

Will go looking again!

Hello

You are all chatty now.

We're cooped up inside and DS won't sit quietly and watch a film. He wants to talk and play and stuff.

FairLadyRantALot · 13/01/2009 20:31

Tiny, just had a look at your website and all I can say is "WOW" !!!
Oh and if there is more space on your hand...I'll hold it

Toot...oh no, hope it isn't anyhting serious or lasting.

ILTMIMI...now, I don't know what you are trying to say about our Franny

lol Franny...

Oh dear Avi...

Well adding to my F&V I have had since Lunchtime:
1 Apple
a small punnet of strawberries (about 2 portions, I suppose)
Cucumber (another 2)
Tomatoes (another 2)

never did make that Omelette, though...hohum

finished that darn learning package though, well, nearly finished it...so, whoopie...
tomorrow I have SW weigh in and Hep B jab in the afternoon and than I got to prepare for my placement, i.e. Uniform and Folder...

TigerFeet · 13/01/2009 20:36

Avi what you need for situations such as these is a well-practiced Paddington Hard Stare.

Guadalupe · 13/01/2009 20:44

Lol, avi, that made me laugh when your dh said just take the damn thing. Sort of thing dh says to me, my family always give me beseeching looks if they think I am going to SAY SOMETHING, which is quite often.

Well, we drank the champagne and walked around and observed the damp that wasn't visible before as it had been painted and the lights weren't working upstairs so we walked round with a candle and it was really nice. The view to the church opposite is lovely, I hadn't really noticed before. Also, dh had put a plant on the mantel when he went before, I thought that was really sweet of him.

Two families we walked home with came in to look and the rabble with all dcs, nine or ten of them, was phenomenal. The neighbours must be thinking oh my god!

Franny you are back. Was it fun? What was the stomp show like? My friend went to it and said it was amazing. I bet you ate nice cake.

Guadalupe · 13/01/2009 20:45

Lemur - doubling your house? Wow.

FrannyandZooey · 13/01/2009 20:59

ohhhhh guad very pleased for you. hope it is a happy and peaceful place for you all

avi oh god! tell the rest! i think i missed this check - i don't remember it anyway

yes indeedy i did eat cake
oh and quite a lot of other stuff

the stomp lost and found show was apparently v good. v odd and in fact dark so dp said. ds2 and i enjoyed warhol although the exhibition was so cramped really, hayward rather small - it was overambitious imo
the film section good although ds2 decided to do lots of shouting people stared - but they were showing about 15 films all at once in one room so you couldn't hear the dialogue anyway - well what dialogue there is in the average warhol film anyway
it was good because in theory i like his films but can no longer be arsed to sit through 2 hours of someone smoking a fag or whatever
you could wander about and see a little bit of each - sorted

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/01/2009 21:03

Guad - it's not as grand as it may sound. It's currently a 2 bedroom chalet bungalow. I can't wait for more space and an upstairs bathroom!

Franny - I really don't know much about Warhol, just Campbells soup and the Marilyn print. I really need to become more cultured. Have you seen the film Factory Girl about Edie Sedgewick? Tis very good and v sad.
