For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Tiny, twitch is gone...thank god!
Oh, and which website? [nosy emoticon]
And very un-mumsnettish [hugs] for you!

dooney...oh dear at you downing that terrible spinach just for teh sake of 10/10....what sort of recipe was it...I mena, can it have been that bad...?

OH, Toot, meant to say last night, but forgot...sorry your dd is being clalled a nerd , not easy when they are being teased

Mango...eating nothing is NOT good....but if you have a sore scratchy throat, I suppose eating isn't much of a pleasure....have you tried freshly squeezed lemone topped up with hot water and with some honey to taste...it really does help!

stuffit that post it thing sounds good....might start it with my es, as he finds it hard at times to express himself, especially when he is angry with me, etc...
Oh, and what is/are Kilims????

Well, as for me, I have had so far 1 Banana, 2 Clementines (and yes, I did say we usually have Satsumas, lol...but realised today, that I grabbed Clementines instead, so, how do you say it now, is there a common consensus?), Chickpease, 2 portions of Pineapple...so...5 so far...and there are Strawberries in the Fridge and I am making an Omelette later with lots of vegetables...

as for Clique eing pronounced Click..I suppose it doesn't sound so odd to my german ears as Clique is pronounced Click-ay in german, lol!

TigerFeet · 13/01/2009 13:56

Hi everyone

TWF I read your thread but didn't really have any constructive advice. Poor ds and poor you, hope he starts to feel better soon.

I have no idea what a Kilim is either, will google presently

Its clementyne and cleek

apple
2 small citrussy fruits of an orange colour
banana
apple & grapes all chopped up

so five but all fruit

must do better on the veg front. I need more low GI stuff. I may chop up some carrots for snacking on tomorrow.

I WANT CHOCOLATE CAKE GODDAM IT

TigerFeet · 13/01/2009 13:59

Well it would seem that a kilim is a patterned rug/carpetty thing

I thought it was an exotic fruit!

Well I suppose it has fibre but could be lacking in vitamins. If one ate one washed down with a glass of orange juice it could be counted as a portion according to TigerFeet's Patented F&V Cheats (TM)

FairLadyRantALot · 13/01/2009 14:14

TF...I somehow expected Kilim to be something awfully healthy, lol

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 14:15

herbs don't really count because you'd have to eat an entire bush to get a portion. I counyt coriander in the summe5r if i put tons of it in a saload or something.

Kilims - rugs or fruit?

I accidentally slept with the windows open and it was so cold this morning, I couldn't move. It's about minus 18 and I have to take DS to music. I think we'll go the the sled but i'm cold just thinking about it.

littlerach · 13/01/2009 14:18

SB, brrrr!

Sled sounds cool though.

Um, grapes.

It is sunny and the washing is on the line

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 14:18

Wow, what happened to my typimg>

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 14:21

I miss my washing line so much. Even people with gardens don't hang washing out here. It always goes in a dryer.

Guadalupe · 13/01/2009 14:23

We have completed!!!

Just going to get the keys in a bit. We're going there with a bottle of champagne. Dh wanted to take a table and have dinner there. Er, why? It's bloody freezing and dirty. He says I'm boring.

littlerach · 13/01/2009 14:25

Oooh, Guad, that is exciting.

Hurrah!!!!

littlerach · 13/01/2009 14:26

SB, I know.
When we've stayde with ILs, I've been horrified that it is hot yet no washing on lines.

I'm sure it dries quicker ont he line.

FairLadyRantALot · 13/01/2009 14:34

lol Guad...congratulations and lol at your dh

I hate hanging out washing and I find it all goes terrible hard and rough...shudder...but I reallllllly should put the washing out when it is sunny and dry (I suppose my excuse is, that the weatehr changes so often and so quickly throughout the day, you just never know )

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 14:35

Guad, very exciting! Hooray!

I'm sure washing dries quicker on the line. And is cheaper. And less static and smells better. Very odd that they don't do it.

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 14:37

Fairlady, I like hanging it out because I get to select matching pegs and it all looks so orderly

TinyWhiteFeather · 13/01/2009 14:51

FairLady......

Oh errrr, 'tis just this one, nothing much but if you have a spare moment...

here

I did know what kilims were but just liked the idea of going shopping with stuffit.

Oh god is that the time...I have a docs appointment in just over an hour.

FairLadyRantALot · 13/01/2009 14:51

lol...now there is a perect reason than, sb

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 14:54

TWF, I hope you are seeing dr about the thing you mentioned on your other thread. Hope all goes well.

TinyWhiteFeather · 13/01/2009 14:55

Fabulous Guad...about time for you

TinyWhiteFeather · 13/01/2009 14:55

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 14:57
SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 15:00

TWF do you know someone named T e r r y S h a v e?

littlerach · 13/01/2009 15:11
TooTicky · 13/01/2009 16:07

Feather, you will have to grow some extra hands so we can all hold one.

TooTicky · 13/01/2009 16:08

LR, it is in T, between the train station and the lock-up.
