Pak choi to the world - the gourd is come! 10/10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I love gherkins, we've still got some left over from Christmas and I sneak a few out of the jar every now and then. They are the mini one's and are really crunchy.

OJ
Carrot
Cucumber
Chickpeas
Apple
Beans
Grapes

The shopping has arrived today, so the f&V count should start going up again.

SuperBunny · 12/01/2009 19:38

We're watching Madagascar - we saw the 1st part last week and are finishing it now. It's great!

TigerFeet · 12/01/2009 19:49

We've watched it 492794 times since we went to the cinema to see M2... Lemur your dancing skills are far superior in the original imvho

pinkspottywellies · 12/01/2009 20:14

I've not been at home today. (I've been avoiding home cause of the state of it but decorators should be all finished tomorrow!) So all I've eaten is a couple of satsumas. RRRRRRubbish.

I'm seeing the Midwife in the morning and am going to ask for an extra scan to check my placenta.

My mum is here. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

TinyWhiteFeather · 12/01/2009 20:41

SB, big sympathies over DS. Sorry I didn't post on your thread. I am going through same with DD (6). I am trying to appeal to her sense of how lovely and close we are and what a shame it is when she shouts at mummy because it makes mummy cross sad. And I remind her that I won't do anything for anybody unless I am asked nicely.

(and then I hide in the bedroom).

Glances over to Franny's vacant chair and strokes bottle of diet coke lovingly.

Amnionic surfactants. One of my favourite words. Don't think they are very healthy though.

I made the sorbet and it was disgusting. Followed the recipe but have no idea how anybody eats that much sugar.

FairLadyRantALot · 12/01/2009 20:50

Hello again...all I can say is, thta I am having a nervous twitch under my right eye and it is driving me absolutely bonkers!

Spoke to 100 the other day, and she recognized me by the way I write...very good observational skills she has....
it is all those...that gave away, lol!

OH, and on the other thread, I don't think they were saying 10/10 is a clique, just a smaeminded group, but in a positive way...or maybe I read it to kindly minded!

TinyWhiteFeather · 12/01/2009 21:05

Pink, you are sounding brighter, I hope your mum gives you lots of TLC, xx

Guadalupe · 12/01/2009 21:08

Your posting style is distinctive, Fairlady. I didn't guess who you were though.

A small-minded quiche, my, we do sound appealing.

We are not cliquey here, I don't think. 20p for a cup of tea but shut the door, there's a draught.

pinkspottywellies · 12/01/2009 21:15

I think they said we are a group not a quiche and groups are nice and quiches are bitchy.

pinkspottywellies · 12/01/2009 21:16

3and used to have a very distinctive posting style which has changed a little since she's returned. I didn't guess.

Guadalupe · 12/01/2009 21:25

I know, I was just joking.

I can't belive you are about to have a baby, pink. The time has flown by.

FairLadyRantALot · 12/01/2009 21:27

lol that was same minded, btw, not small minded...

lol pink...I suppose sometimes I do more ......than other times
I was quite when 100 asked me if I was 3andnomore...god, I would make a terrible troll, wouldn't I...troll wiht signature, lol!

Guadalupe · 12/01/2009 21:30

all the lols and dots are coming back now, lol.

FairLadyRantALot · 12/01/2009 21:37

lol

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 01:59

No-one has ever identified me when I have namechanged but I am usually careful about how I post as I only namechange for sensitive things.

Apple
Banana
Quinoa salad (with olives, tomatoes, spinach, pesto, seeds)

We have a foot of snow from the weekend and are in the midst of yet another blizzard

TinyWhiteFeather · 13/01/2009 02:01

Fairy..I have even banned myself from namechanging as I have left a little slug trail of my identity every time I do it, am completely hopeless.
Am very discreet in RL but think I am lulled into a false sense of security by the peculiar anonymity of a public forum.
Having exorcised at least some of the skeletons in my closet, I may ask the kindly ladies at mumsnet towers to remove all traces of previous identities at some point.
I'd like to broadcast my website on the broader world of MN at some point so will probably do it then.

I hope the twitch goes away, I get a similar thing with the side of my face when I am stressed and it is driving me potty.

TinyWhiteFeather · 13/01/2009 02:12

Unfortunately so do I SB!! but as I am usually stressed up to the eyeballs when I do it, my mind scrambles. I backread some of my postings yesterday and it was like taking the lid off my brain and having a peep! Was ,,and at the bollox I write.

Sorry about the snow, you must be getting tired of it by now.

SuperBunny · 13/01/2009 02:26

Ah, I always write total rubbish, TWF.

Snow is silly now. It's very pretty but there is so much now that it is nigh on impossible to go out. Certainly no driving and since the pavements are not always ploughed, it makes walking places tricky. I reckon it'll be 2 feet deep by the morning, if it continues at this rate and I can't wade through that!

dooneygirl · 13/01/2009 02:38

Banana
Apple
Blueberries X2
Juice
Sweet Potato Fries (Baked oven chips)
Cooked Spinach X2
1/2 Onion
1/2 Red Pepper

Close but not quite again. I had a recipe for spinach, and it wasn't a good one. It was bad. Really bad. Even DH didn't eat his. I kept on eating for the sake of 10/10.

Agree with the fact they were saying 10/10 is a group and not a quiche. I'm glad I'm not the only one who used the word quiche in their thoughts.

Happy snow, Bunny!!! I guess DH should be happy he won't be going to Chicago any time soon.

stuffitllama · 13/01/2009 02:42

SB it is like Little House in the Big Woods ..what a lovely excuse to stay in and do your photo albums

this can't be clique because I would not ever be in a clique

TWF an excellent amount of blither, how are you doing? and BBEE I thought of you this morning and hope you are ok

Toot, for dd, I suspect she is of course fabulous and not a nerd! Being called a nerd is not fun (that was me until the age of about 17) but you know, who wants their social success to peak at 13? Of course this will mean nothing to her as it's such torture at the time. But (apart from me) nerds do have a habit of doing quite well in life.

(My dd hasn't been on fb yet btw, we just started back at school)

yesterday I ate broccoli 2, carrots 1, a satsuma, onion, ginger and garlic and a satsuma. and some raw cabbage too. I need more fibre.

stuffitllama · 13/01/2009 02:51

Oh Tiny I have just read your thread. You poor sweetheart, I feel for you and your son and I wish I could help.

A hug for both of you.
