For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I have just done some very scary fog driving. I have perfected the hunch-squint-frown.

Hi avi!

SuperBunny · 09/01/2009 00:08

Evening

Banana
blueberries
raisins
sultanas
Tomatoey sauce
juice
tangerine
apple

A bit heavy on the fruit, I think.

dooneygirl · 09/01/2009 04:01

Grapes (2) They're gone now
cranberries
juice
sweet potato
Asparagus (2)

Oops. DH decided to take us out to dinner, so wasn't able to make it. I was a good girl and had the steamed veggies instead of garlic mashed potatoes. I love garlic mashed potatoes.

Avi, DS (5) is also delightful, and the whole testosterone kicking in thing is happening, I do believe. He's still delightful, but is constantly whining and cries at everything.

It must be something in the air with the kids day. My BF's DD was a holy terror, and my two were constantly busy and chattery. Thank goodness they have each other, and aren't on me the whole time.

SuperBunny · 09/01/2009 04:05

I'm feeling funny. A bit pathetic and needy, unsettled and sad and worried and stuff. I am going to go to bed in the hope that it goes away but could you please think good thoughts for me so that when I wake up things are ok?

please. thanks.

TooTicky · 09/01/2009 07:46

Oh SB
You know where I am if you want a chat. I will look out for you.

SB, sorry you are feeling like this. Really really hope you have woken up feeling better, but if not you know where I am also. Can you text us? Or one of us. Texting a friend recently has been a big help to me.

And I know I always say this, but try and get out for that run, it is the first step to feeling bettter,
I am running this morning and will do a couple of miles for you.

Don't disappear...{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} and xx's

FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2009 09:06

lots of good thoughts flying over to you sb

ds1 trying to solve world's drought problems
which is laudable but tbh getting tedious
he keeps saying "aHA they can grow oranges and drink orange juice! hooray!" etc etc

ds2 i think has thrush
ruddy antibiotics
anyway i have tried calendula and no luck, they wouldn't sell me canesten, so i have to go to baby clinic and i am expecting to get a load of grief re: breastfeeding, weight, solids, purees, slingwearing etc
oh and probably vests
unless things have changed a lot in 5 years [sceptical]

we slept in this morning though! well ds1 did
i was lying quietly thinking "ahhh peace"

Tatties · 09/01/2009 09:13

Oh dear about thrush Franny. Do you feel sore or anything?

FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2009 09:36

no it's round his bottom - well mostly round his penis, poor thing
i have had it terribly, but seem to have got under control
i presume this is from his last lot of antibiotics? we seem to have been battling thrush since he was born
glowy lady keeps saying i must stop eating sugar
oh it makes me very sighy to think of it - i did it easily a couple of years ago!

FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2009 09:37

FrannyandZooey · 09/01/2009 09:37

do you think i could claim to have lost his red book?
or is that worse than all the other things put together?

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 09:39

I always lose the red book.

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 09:40

Vinegar is very good for thrush, Franny.

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 09:50

Ds2 not had his vacc yet either.

I got my vault smear results back yesterday. Negative. Very good and obviously I am pleased.

However, despite me complaining when they called me for a cervical smear as I had 'an abnormal result last January' , in a lazy shite can't be bothered to send me a specific letter so I get an inappropriate general one, I received my results and it said, your cervical smear was negative, this means you have a low chance of having cervical cancer and you are due another cervical smear test in six months as you have had abnormal results. .

I have complained again. Maybe they need to save ink.
