For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Me too, SB.
dds seem to talk all the time, and ask things.

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 19:22

Well done LR!

What funny children, Toot

stuffitllama · 08/01/2009 19:23

hope your eyes get better sb, sounds absolutely awful
not surprised you're grumpy if your eyes are bad

Toot you sound quite frail at the moment, you sound like you need a huge warming stew with lots of dumplings followed by a huge one of these all to yourself and lots of cocoa

tiny another I feel your pain

night all x

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 19:27

Ooh Stuffit, can it be a vegan one? It looks good!!

LR, that is an impressive list.
Btw, you must tell me where you live one day, preferably before I go insane through wondering

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 19:31

Oh, that cake looks amazing. Maybe I should bake. But I am out of flour, almost

littlerach · 08/01/2009 19:32

SB, I had red eyelids from make up remover once.

And my mum had them from Clinique make up.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 08/01/2009 19:34

Do you think there is something in the air today? DS has been quite grizzly today, which isn't like him at all. He's also been a bit of a nightmare to settle to sleep. I shouldn't get cross because he's a really placid little thing really, and he's probably teething or something, but aaarrrgggghhhhhh!!!!

grapefruit
pear
oj
beans
salad
carrots
cauliflower
grapes
peppers
s weetcorn
tomatoes

The exercise isn't going quite so well, but we did go out for a walk today.

Oh, and I had a sausage roll when I was in town. Damn those bakers and their lovely baked goods!

Apart from the sausage roll I'm feeling really positive about my f&v intake. It defo seems to stop me from snacking on shite.

FrannyandZooey · 08/01/2009 19:42

oh bother i keep forgetting what i want to post [sleep deprived]

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 08/01/2009 19:44

OJ
satsuma
banana
grapes/blueberries
kiwi
dried apricots
mixed bean and veg stew/chilli (not much chilli in this time) 2-3 portions

  1. Not bad considering how I've been doing lately. I might go and have a raw carrot to balance my fruit:veg ratio.

Then I'm going to have a bath and an early night! Oh the excitement

Glad you're all talking about how angsty it is with boys

FrannyandZooey · 08/01/2009 19:44

oh i know
odd children
ds1 said "I want to be a baby again so I can be a baby with ds2. I am so sad I can't be a baby....I am so sad that...I think you had better buy me a spiderman outfit....and a wooden pigeon."

but am sorry i am snickering at the sticker queen turning alfie kohn disciple
god unconditional parenting is like a far off dream to me now
i barely manage parenting full stop some days

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 08/01/2009 20:14

TBH I don't know much about it. Like I said I read a thread but basically letting her have choices, explaining why we do things... have i totally missed the point?

(And I do stickers for me not children )

FrannyandZooey · 08/01/2009 20:17

yes and stickers for me!
oh i don't know pink
i am rubbish at it i know that

Hello, you have been argumentative haven't you?

I had an orange juice today, but it had loads of bits in. Can I count that on top of my smooth juice?

Apple
Salad
TOmatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onion
Pomegranate

v poor

of to eat some raisins or something to atone

Toot I like your new pics very much

FrannyandZooey · 08/01/2009 20:40

yes, sorry, was that me being argumentative? not my greatest day

FrayedKnot · 08/01/2009 20:54

LOL at vestgate. Your Mum is clearly better

DS will sit playing in just his PJ bottoms until midday at weekends, while I shiver in ten layers including a vest.

Apple
Satsuma
Butternut squash & leek soup
Large portion of veg curry with cauliflower, celery, peas and lentils
Onion bhajee x 2

I have finally learned how to cook basmati rice properly

pinkspottywellies · 08/01/2009 21:05

Ah maybe that's it. She knew how worried you'd been about the flu but wouldn't directly acknowledge it (and therefore how ill she'd been) so did a 'Franny's mum-ism' to let you know that she's fine

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 21:19

LOL @ a wooden pigeon. DS requested a sword 'because it is the only thing that will make me not sad'

12 - v good Franny!

DS has never ever worn a vest. I had one til I was about 6, I think. I liked them, they were pretty.

What is unconditional parenting?

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 21:24

Ah, LR. I have new moisturizer - that could well be the problem with my eyes. It's Clarins and my mum gave it to me for xmas, knowing full well I am allergic to a lot of clarins stuff and lotions in general. I used it anyway
