For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No don't lose the red book, they will just write things on bits of paper and raise their eyebrows. I'd listen to your glowy lady if I were you. For general skin soothing you can't beat Tui Bee Balme.

I feel as if I haven't slept although I have. I woke up quite a lot though.

There you go SB.....one hours running (tiny bit of walking). Not just cleared the cobwebs away, the spiders have packed their bags and left!!
Up on the misty moors, hauntingly beautiful, and so peaceful. Would have loved company this morning.
Now I have a day of sorting things, popping into town (with the essential Latte!) and generally pottering.
Catch up with thread later.
Hugs to all.....xx

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 09:58

Did you see Cathy, Mou?

I say lose the red book and stuff the eyebrows. I love meeting eyebrows back with a double lift. You are his mother fgs, you don't need to chart him on a line or note down his pooing habits.

TooTicky · 09/01/2009 09:58

Oh dear Guad, it is a crap system.
Good news though

Right, must go and stop toddler eating crap off floore

TinyWhiteFeather · 09/01/2009 09:59

Hey Toot....!

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 10:02

It is crap, Toot. The receptionist said, 'did you actually have cancer then?'. Yes, I did, and I don't have a fucking cervix any more so you would think I might get a different letter. Sorry rant over.

Er, the morning gloweth and the mists rolleth round these parts while the cats chrorus, or something.

TooTicky · 09/01/2009 10:11

Not just crap Guad, tactless and deplorabl;e

Feather

Tatties · 09/01/2009 10:12

Franny when we had it, it only showed up on ds's bottom. So we did the cream for my nipples, and oral drops for him at the same time - his sore bottom cleared up within days. But I had to tell the doctor what treatment we needed! I also cut out sugar and yeast (as best I could) for a while, until we were over the worst.

Tatties · 09/01/2009 10:13

God Guad that's awful, you would think they would have more sense

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 10:14

Hello, Tatties, I always seem to miss you these days.

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 10:15

I suppose it's not a big deal in the scheme of things, but it feels really thoughtless and is a bit upsetting.

How are things up your way? Have you settled in well?

I think I have just left a message telling a stranger that their ironing is ready for collection...lol

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 10:38

Thank, Avi. The practise are going to take it up with the whatever it is that send the letters.

Hope your house thing gets sorted out. Three days until we complete now. I'm getting quite excited! I keep walking past there, I could get the keys but I want to wait just in case.

TinyWhiteFeather · 09/01/2009 10:40

And Guad, that is awful, I think it is a big deal. They are working in a business where people's feelings are paramount and it should be part of the job description to keep that in mind. Very for you.

And I agree you should do something about it, even with a polite, succinctly written letter (I'll write it for you, I seem to have a knack for these things).

And apart from that go and eat something sticky, non 10/10 and treat yourself to something that makes you feel better, whether it is curling up with a good book, or something 'pretty'.

stuffitllama · 09/01/2009 10:44

Guad.. how useless and upsetting. But good news about the result.

Franny I disagree with Toot and advise forgetting the red book. I also advise making an appt for vaccs for next week "when he's better" and then cancelling over the phone.
I do not advise raising it as an issue for discussion.

SB I am thinking good and cheering thoughts for you. Perhaps it will turn into a moment of quiet "me" time instead of sad time. I hope so.

lettuce -- perhaps that's why I feel sleepy in the middle of the afternoon

I'm going to investigate the person who eats vaseline, apparently it's very good for you

stuffitllama · 09/01/2009 10:44

tiny how are things

Guadalupe · 09/01/2009 10:45

Thanks, Mou. I'll see what the response from them to the surgery is and maybe I'll write if it's inadequate.

Stuffit - urrgh, how can it be good for you? Isn't it a by product of petrol industry?

stuffitllama · 09/01/2009 10:45

ps Toot am just recovering from disagreeing with you. how is your igloo

stuffitllama · 09/01/2009 10:46

i don't know Guad I think it was an aged person
am going to search

stuffitllama · 09/01/2009 10:52

well that was quick
it was Mr Chesebrough, he invented it, ate it everyday and lived to 96
apparently it is non toxic but not I suspect full of nutrients
it's so good for everything else though, it is my desert island luxury

TinyWhiteFeather · 09/01/2009 11:05

Okay, stuffit, thank-you. It is a fine balance sometimes and although I am generally on top of things, I do have days when it throws me. Running helps though , and meditating and focussing on things and people that inspire me so I don't get dragged into a downward spiral.

EATING VASELINE? No. No. No. No. No.
Even if it made me look and feel 20 years younger. No.

Bleeeuurrrggghhh!

FrayedKnot · 09/01/2009 11:29
