For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Aaahhh. . . thanks for your post of 14:54, Franny. I was wondering if I made my own smoothie that had a handful of cranberries, a handful of blueberries, and a handful of marionberries why it would only count as 1. I see now.

I'm seriously going to slow down today. I was a very windy person last night and DH and I giggled uncontrollably. The whole grape thing just kind of accidentally happened.

FairLadyRantALot · 08/01/2009 15:48

lol at teh mentioning of windyness....because, erm....I was rather windy myself...Chickpeas and Sweetcorn do that to me, lol...I mean, either or does really....

dooneygirl · 08/01/2009 15:52

I figured if poo was allowed to be mentioned, windiness would be just fine.

TinyWhiteFeather · 08/01/2009 16:03

Fairlady....I made the mistake of smiling because I thought he must be winding me up...but apparently not.

Anyway, his loss, all the raspberries will go in the sorbet now. I am learning Pink.

How are you? and MamaG?
I don't have a broody bone in my body, but it is lovely to hear of soon to be and not very old babies.

MamaG, I got a fabulous Ruby and Millie make-up set for christmas....it is very luxurious. Strokes shiny patent case lovingly.

Oh well, shall go and get shouted at some more. (But won't take any notice, I am in a Happy place in my head at the moment where negativity is banished )

FairLadyRantALot · 08/01/2009 16:05

oh dear Tiny! that is hte problems isn't it...but himmmm....sorbet...that sounds lovely!

dooney, iirc almost anything is mentionable here...it's a special place, I think!

stuffitllama · 08/01/2009 16:24

a lot of cabbage
carrots
garlic
coriander salad
six veggie sushi with mushrooms, cuc, beans, cabbage stuff, they were quite chunky so I would say half each
so only five, gawd, useless

hi all
Toot dd hasn't been on facebook since but YES! she will be pleased..it's her birthday tomorrow btw she is 12 ..they are roughly the same, no? your children kids are delicious looking

Tiny you are infectiously cheerful and I hope you haven't really been shouted at

spent six hours at the computer doing a photobook last night -- I stupidly asked for my sisters' opinions and unfortunately they had some

TinyWhiteFeather · 08/01/2009 17:25

stuffit....I have really been shouted at .. We have 'issues' in this family, and my cheerfullness at times is a way of combatting it. Thank-you for the comment though.

And now I am having things thrown at me....sigh. Time to exit I think. You guys help a lot.

stuffitllama · 08/01/2009 17:32

Feather here's a for you .. issues here too .. in fact we are going to see a counsellor about ds1 quite soon. I hope none of the thrown things were either valuable or painful ..

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 18:27

Oh Feather I am sorry. I am around if you want hugs/a chat.

Goodness, all these angsty boys.

Llama - great

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 18:51

Ooo, I get to be portion Sergeant monitor! It is one of my few life-skills. Other people can paint or dance but I know how many strawberries one must eat (7) Depends on soup and amount of lentils, sinking. Same as LR said! I like Avi's reasoning. I'm going with that.

Tiny, your DS sounds quite scary. Sorry he wasn't nice.

Toot, why did you not sleep well again? And why are your hips bothering you. I am wondering if you should see someone about your aliments, I'm worried - lack of sleep, weight loss, painful hips... not good.

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 18:54

Oh, my eyelids have gone all red and yucky again. Just in time for the weekend and I have a date. Fabulous.

Banana
blueberries
sultanas
Tomatoey sauce (tomatoes, onions, olives)

Only 4. Crapola.

Tatties · 08/01/2009 18:54

Hey Veggers

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 18:57

SB, I'm okay. I didn't sleep well last night because of my hips. They're just knackered through lots of pregnancy.
How are you?

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 18:59

I am in a hideous mood. DS has been fractious and, well, we've not had a good morning. I am always shouting at him and am so impatient

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 19:00

Ok Toot. But please take care of yourself.

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 19:00

Hey Tatties
How are you?
Have a look at my photos, there is a pic of dd2 in the coat and shoes just after they arrived.

SB, what is wrong with your eyelids? Not the cold weather?

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 19:02

Oh I'm sorry SB. It is so hard to be patient and nice sometimes, isn't it?

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 19:03

Apparently I may be allergic to something but no-one knows what. And it seems to be triggered by stress.

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 19:05

Yes, it's hard to be nice I used to be. And I want to be I just have no patience for being shouted at, for constant demands and continual chattering. Which is totally unreasonable of me.

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 19:05

Oh dear. Allergic to something foodish or something in the atmosphere? Seems rather specific for food. Are you rubbing your eyes after touching something in particular or is that just too obvious?

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 19:06

It's not unreasonable. It's just how it is sometimes.

FrannyandZooey · 08/01/2009 19:16

god been there done that sb
i am constantly working on how to be less grumpy with ds1 and it was sometimes much worse when he was younger

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 08/01/2009 19:17

ds2 is tired and grumpy and trumpy
but still grinning like loon when i sing his favourite song

SuperBunny · 08/01/2009 19:19

Not food, i don't think. No idea what. Dermatiologist thought it might be nail varnish but I have none on and am sure it isn't that.

I try to be nice. It's just too hard. And, when things are nice it only takes something small to make it all feel pointless. Will play a boardgame with DS when he gets up to make myself feel better.

TooTicky · 08/01/2009 19:19

Computer goingvvveeerryyy ssllooowwllyyy

My children are being odd today.
Earlier dd2 gave me a big hug, looked at me lovingly, and said, "You are the mum of doom".

And ds2 has just said, " Mum, can I show you something? But you wouldn't appreciate it. Just my two heels on the sideboard, and I jumped right to the floor!"
