For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hi Sunshine.
I would have thought you'd have had the opposite problem really.
Um, don't really know, sorry.

TinyWhiteFeather · 06/01/2009 15:37

Hello sunshine, a bit like LittleR, not sure.

What were you consuming before?
Could you go back to 5 and build up bit by bit. Maybe 10 is a shock to your system.

Something peppermint based for bloatedness, and I have warm water at this time of year as cold upsets my tummy.

I would bear with it though as the rewards are worth it in the end. welcome though!

Had a pretty good day in the end, all things considered. (bump on head!). Even more loopy than usual, also managed to walk into a branch whilst texting a friend. lol.

wanders into bathroom to fry an egg!

pinkspottywellies · 06/01/2009 16:01

TWF I blended the bouquet garni into the soup last night and started a fire in the kitchen today!! Hope your head's ok.

Welcome Sunshine

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:06

pear, raisins, dried apricots, soup (non-whizzed) containing watercress, onion, carrot, hint of jerusalem artichoke, 2 bowls.
Bit of apple.
This is the best I have done since Christmas day I think so could I please have a sticker?

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:07

Pink, are you safe?

TinyWhiteFeather · 06/01/2009 16:12

Lolol Pink, glad it is not just me.

Are you OK otherwise though? Getting enough rest, or some at any rate.

Head actually still really hurts, and have a bit of a headache. I feel distracted and jittery, but can't decide if it is just me or the effects of the knock.

Might have a herbal tea and try and sit down for 5 minutes, but DS is on one, which is like the tasmanian devil on Coca-cola and smarties!!!

TinyWhiteFeather · 06/01/2009 16:16

Does anyone think that Franny is 'butter-upable' about the nut thing?
Accept bribes or anything?

littlerach · 06/01/2009 16:27

WEll done TooT.

Today is the first day without any children for hiundreds fo years.
And i have done a load of washing, hoovered (inc upstairs), made scones, made soup, worked for an hour , tidied all the toys away and tidied the bathroom.

Pear

For dinner will also have

Hmm, that's quite good.

And no seeds

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:34

Good going LR

Dd1 should be home and she's not.

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:35
TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:36

LR, have you been into T? There has been an incident off the Newtown mini roundabout. Lots of police and people in white suits and a white tent in front of a house

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:47

Any of you psychic? Where is dd1 please?

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:48

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 16:56

I have her
Her bus was v late and she gave up on it and then it came and she missed it and had to wait ages.

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2009 17:17

you nut eating bastards

we have this argument every freaking year and you WILL NOT LEARN

i will not bend; in fact it's THE PIT for anyone who I suspect of eating nuts for the rest of the day

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2009 17:20

sunshine I think the advice about changing your diet gradually is good
the only thing i can think of is that you are bloating up with wind from the excess fibre, which is to be expected, but the constipation is surprising -

(sensitive souls who don't like poo talk look away)

do you think you could have been bunged up from before you started eating all the f+v? i mean, do you think there might be a blockage there?
if so there is a thing in a sachet you can get
erm
i always forget the name
not lactulose
the other one

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 17:20
TooTicky · 06/01/2009 17:22

Franny you have to be nice to me because nobody else will talk poo with you. Nobody else requested a chart [devoted]

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2009 17:22

oh i have been noticing rumblings about soup, and smoothies, and juice
you can only count ONE lot of juice per day
because it hasn't got any fibre in it
you can count as much soup and in theory as many smoothies as you want, but just make a mental note that eating the whole fruit or vegetable is apparently better for you, healthwise
ditto on balance you should have more veg than fruit on your list
apparently
this is really just for hardcore veggers - you can eat any old thing as far as I am concerned

but NO NUTS

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2009 17:23

gawd we need a TITLE
TooT we need a TITLE RIGHT NOWWWW

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 17:24

Feather had a nice one Franny, just scroll down a bit...it starts with pak choi

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2009 17:25

sunshine is going to talk poo with me, TooT
she's got a lot of poo to tell me about

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2009 17:25

i can't spell pak choi
oh actually i am lying

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 17:25
