For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

More hugs.....mmmmmmmmm, smiles a bit more, feeling comforted.

Have just woken up which helps, as long as I get my work done.

And my Webby man says my site might be ready by the end of the week.

Oh Franny, concentrating hard on get well vibes for you, (and all other poorly people)..>>>>
It is so draining for carers, however much love you do it with.

Think I am awake enough to work now...
lovely, lovely veggers, thank-you.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 01/12/2008 14:14

I have also just received a local advertising thingy in which I have a small ad for my other business and am abnormally pleased...god I am a simple soul

SmilesLikeNoOther · 01/12/2008 14:14

Oh yes......work!!!!!!!(giggling now!)

SuperBunny · 01/12/2008 14:24

Oh no Franny. Hope he wakes up and is much much better.

My DS has an Playmobil advent calendar. But my sister bought me a Maltesers one (despite me asking for no chocolate, especially advent calendars) and doesn't seem to understand that I will have to share it. Ah well.

pinkspottywellies · 01/12/2008 14:53

((((((((big hug for smiles)))))))) even if it's too late

Guad fingers crossed still on the house. Sorry you won't have the card to hang in it! How much did they all raise in the end?

We went to the park this morning. It was FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually frozen. Had to wipe the ice off things with my gloves before dd went on! Very foolishinvigorating!!!

Prunes, cuc/tom, oh dear. Have a mango to cut up - wish me luck.

Hope all are well in the TooT household. TF how's dd getting on at school? Still having problems? Anything we can collectively think on for you?

pinkspottywellies · 01/12/2008 14:54

Oh and Franny, meant to give get well vobes for Lucky xxxxxx

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2008 14:57

he is a smiley boy again
god it's grim when they are ill
thinking of you and dd Boco
and TooT and clan
and everyone!

TigerFeet · 01/12/2008 15:04

Good luck with the mango Pink - I had one last week that was awful and tbh it has put me off a bit. DD is OK ish, tears when she had to go to school today as it's a work day for me and therefore childminder for her. According to CM she is fine until about 5ish when the other mindees go home - she hates being left to be the last to be collected . I've spoken to my lovely understanding boss today and she has agreed that I can fiddle my hours again so I can finish an hour earlier every day and make the time up on a Friday morning, ie 3.5 days a week. DD won't be the last to be collected and hopefully that'll work fine.

Poor ds2 Franny Vibes aplenty from here for him. And the TooTs as well. There is some nasty stuff going round atm.

DD has a fabric advent calendar with pockets in which we have put some chocolate Santas. THis year is the first year she has grasped that she can only have one a day! Progress!

Glad you are feeling chirpier Mou.

TigerFeet · 01/12/2008 15:07

Oh Franny x post - glad he is better for a sleep. Have some vibes anyway, for continued improvement.

Is Boco's dd ill too? It's not the pneumonia again is it? Oh no

pinkspottywellies · 01/12/2008 15:09

We have a advent train with a drawer for each day. I'm going to do some chocolate (1 each and dd can hand them round!) and some little notes for things like 'Christmas Party at Toddlers' 'make biscuits with Mummy' 'hang decorations'. Dh and I just scoffed chocs from it last year!

pinkspottywellies · 01/12/2008 15:11

I'll report back later on the mango. Must turn laptop off now or I'll get nothing else done all day!

SmilesLikeNoOther · 01/12/2008 15:52

Contemplates wrestling pink back but happily accepts hug.

TooTicky · 01/12/2008 16:46

{{{hugs everybody}}}

TooTicky · 01/12/2008 16:47

Okay Smiles, noted. Will try again

TooTicky · 01/12/2008 19:04

Where is everybody? [lonely]

TooTicky · 01/12/2008 19:06

I am rather daringly trying to heat the water. I do hope it will be kind. I really want a bath. Especially as my shower was cold this morning

littlerach · 01/12/2008 19:10

I had ot wash my hair with cold water this morning - it really woke me up.

It is COLD today. Really.

Smiles, hope you are okay.

Wagamama for lunch (with no children) and had veg katsu curry. Delicious.
My car is finally fixed (again) so fingers crossed it will last this tiome. I hate cars.

FrannyandZooey · 01/12/2008 19:20

ds2 pretending nothing is wrong now
dp asking have i got munchausens by proxy

do you think i was right giving him the antibs? there seems nothing wrong with him now, honestly
ds1 has never had antibiotics in his life and ds2 is 4 months old and has had 2 lots, one intravenously

SmilesLikeNoOther · 01/12/2008 19:26

Toot....hi .

I am not really here as I am really busy with work, which is fab, I get to see all my lovely customers a lot before Christamas and even ones I don't see very often pop up.
Hope there are signs of recovery in the Toot household.

Everybody wants to be on the computer as well.

My body hurts (whimper). I am not complaining really but it just doesn't do cold weather and I feel old.
I get very emotional when everybody is nice when I am having a hard time..this thread is really lovely. Like my fluffy 'cup a soup' hug coat. ( I have a coat that is like that furry hug in the cup-a-soup adverts....mmmmmmm)

Might catch up again later.

filthymindedvixen · 01/12/2008 20:06

Gah! GAH! we keep being beaten by a couple of quid on ebay for laptops for ds's present.
Before you all think he is a spolied brat it is birthday and xmas combined and he absolutely has to have one as he has to type all his homework and he cannot write

fmv, have you tried local paper ads? I looked in one recently and was surprised at reasonableness of prices for certain things (including a blue violin for £40 )
I wonder if people don't think of them so much since ebay.
Also worth asking in small friendly reconditioning type shops.

Franny, ABs are hard. I avoided them altogether with dcs until ds2's eye injury when I felt too caught up in the system to refuse.
When ds1 had his abscess recently the dentist prescribed ABs and I gave hgim the first few but they were doing nothing for him. Homoeopath came up trumps though but I gave ds1 a few more capsules (carefully emptied ) in case they were useful placebo.
I did confess later.
It is very very hard to make these decisions.

Smiles - I want a furry hug coat

TooTicky · 01/12/2008 20:56

Avi is here again - this is delightful

LR - yes, washing hair in cold water is truly invigorating

Water didn't heat. Blah.
