For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Wow, Toot, that is delicious

thanks!

what else are you having for DS party tea?

TooTIfYouAreScared · 25/10/2008 00:43

Pizza(homemade) and crisps and biscuits (shop bought and maybe some carrot sticks. I usually make everything myself but I looked at the biscuits and thought, I am knackered. For minimal expense and no effort I can save myself a lot of work. And how many parents will actually care anyway?

daisy99divine · 25/10/2008 00:45

oh, I quite agree re the biscuits, there is no point in being so knackered you have nothing left for the actual party!

and there are so many really nice biscuits now, not totally packed with sugar etc

sounds lovely I hope you have a wonderful time

TooTIfYouAreScared · 25/10/2008 00:53

Thanks. They're actually not that great, but no hydrog fats or gelatine. Not vegan though

Am slightly anxious about tomorrow. I mean, the theory is that we collect wood, build shelter and eat tea in it. In reality, it may be an uncontrollable mass of 6 and 7 year old hysteria with lots of mud. Hmm.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 25/10/2008 00:57

WHEN WILL THIS CAKE BE COOKED???????

daisy99divine · 25/10/2008 01:08

oh. I think the party will be fab. Are you going to take some ropes and stuff or is that just tempting fate

I think you said no fires so that's out

is a guitar and singing too sad?

sorry bickies aren't vegan, it must be depressing

daisy99divine · 25/10/2008 01:09

oh, yes, the cake will be cooked precisely 5 minutes after you last look at it and it is raw in the middle and 5 minutes before you next look at it

so you can spend 30 minutes scraping black bits off the top

well that's what always happens to me!!!

daisy99divine · 25/10/2008 01:09
TooTIfYouAreScared · 25/10/2008 01:16

I don't think we have ropes. We have string.
Oh, they will be making wooden name badges.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 25/10/2008 01:26

All done, off to bed. Good night!!

fullmoonfiendbloodcurdlinghowl · 25/10/2008 09:46

I expect you are ankle deep in childrena dn mud today TooT, but happy birthday ds and hope you have a happy, wholesome day

I have wriggled out of petri-dish swimming and am allowed to sit in cafe, read my book, do some knitting and listen to some music
Yay!

Happy Saturday to you all x

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 25/10/2008 10:01

Hello veggers - suspect all your dancing with tin trays and cutlery caused us to have a rubbish night's sleep, TooT (are you normally Too Ticky?)!

DP is ill so spent the night sweating and moaning and coughing and then got up at 4am to watch telly for a bit, DS wanted to come into our bed, coughed continuously until I roused myself enough to get the knock-em-out cough medicine, took all my side of the bed up, kicked the bump several times and then had a nappy leak at about 5am onto freshly washed sheets (always on my side of the bed, why god why?).

We're now on the sofa watching an industrial amount of CBeebies....

And I'm meant to be going to a black tie dinner tonight and have nothing to wear over a bump!

No F&V yet today - tea and crunchy nut cornflakes only.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 25/10/2008 10:02

Happy Birthday to your DS, Toot!

pinkspottywellies · 25/10/2008 10:07

Lucky you Moony!

Hope you all have a fab day TooT sounds like a lovely spread.

Do cornflakes count in my 10? No? Wrong kind of corn? Arse.

pinkspottywellies · 25/10/2008 10:11

LMD! You've left it a bit last minute! Can you go shopping today? Have you got anyone you can borrow from? Where in the country are you? I have a nice mat dress!

fullmoonfiendbloodcurdlinghowl · 25/10/2008 10:11

TooT - my mum may, allegedly, have had a flirtation with Carthy way back in the 70s. I wish she had hooked up with him instead of my birth father...then I might have had violin talents and been able to sing....

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 25/10/2008 10:18

I'm in Bristol - I did order a dress from Next but it arrived and it looks dreadful. It has a huge bow on the front which I was hoping was removable, but it isn't, not without major dress surgery, and it makes me look like a fat box of chocolates.

I do have a black number but it's more of a work dress. Still, maybe with spangly jewellery and high shoes? Otherwise it's down to the new shopping centre for me. Wonder if Harvey Nicks sell maternity wear?

Ghouladalupe · 25/10/2008 10:30

Good luck today, Toot, hope it goes well. I can't believe you went for shop bought biscuits, it will be Tesco's disney princess sponge and fondant icing next.

I am addcited to marmite on toast atm, I suspect this is not great as there doesn't seem to be much room for anything else fruit and veg wise.

I have a pagan friend. She always used to connect it with her artwork. There seemed to be a lot of salt involved and I remember her telling us when it was the different festivals and celebrations. I went to her wedding a couple of years ago which was interesting. We had to jump over a broom stick to leave the circle after the ceremony, for fertility I think. I was holding a small ds2 so I stepped over politely.

Today is a day of chores. How dull. I might prolong the onset a little more and refresh active convos.

Ghouladalupe · 25/10/2008 10:32

I have a cd of hers, FMV.

Littlemy dancing - go for jazzing up the black dress, I would. Save your energy!

berolina · 25/10/2008 11:40

TooT and TooTBoy2, have a lovely party!

Dreess up black number, LMD, unless you feel like shopping. I am not a clothes-shopping person.

Now Twiglett is leaving

OsmosisBOOnana · 25/10/2008 11:42

LittleMy, you live near St A... Park yes? Can you not pop into Born? Do they sell such garb? (I'm not a stalker just remember from the convo with Riven!)

I am going to Cabot Circus later, do you want me to look for summat? Saw some ok looking mat stuff in Topshop earlier....

Ghouladalupe · 25/10/2008 11:45

You'll probably be glad you didn't buy anything afterwards.

Ghouladalupe · 25/10/2008 11:46

Unless, like bero says, you feel like a shop.

Ghouladalupe · 25/10/2008 12:46

Oh for fucks sake. Dh has worked away most of this term, hardly been here this week and I was looking forward to a nice afternoon walk, I am going to a friend's book launch tonight and tomorrow we were cooking a nice lunch. Now something else has gone wrong and he has to go to Amsterdam in a minute.

And I can't even fucking moan because it's work and we need the money, except I am moaning and swearing on here. Grrrrrr.

OsmosisBOOnana · 25/10/2008 13:12

Arse. That is most irritating.
