For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

FK, how much did you shave off?

daisy99divine · 10/11/2008 16:43

FK laughing at Dried Fruit tummy

Hello Toot, I am a bit of a hopeless weekend poster but back now, since I am at work footling at the computer

CIC and at little christmas stockings - this is a craft thread as much as an F&V one!

TooTicky · 10/11/2008 18:02

I marvelled at the 25 stockings too. Well done Charlee

OsmosisBOOnana · 10/11/2008 18:29

I did 500 words today on battery caged chooks. That is v impressive for 1.5 hours by my standards. Am on course to finish by Friday. The essay at least....

I don't reckon i can justify any out of bristol excursions till the week after the 27th of Nov TooT. After that all assignments will be in and hopefully all painting and sanding too.

Had sworn off the gin tonight but am exuberant with work done. And there is no electricity anywhere in the house except the sitting room, so trickt to do anything except lounge about.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 18:30

Lots of lovely things, mou

OB sounds very busy.

Charlee, you should post pics of your stockings .

FK, is your tummy better? Was the cake good?

BF did get out of the store room but I'm still laughing about it. Will think about thanksgiving - I feel a bit weird introducing DS to my BF & all his family. It seems like a big thing to do.

I'm going to have a look for roasty things for christmas in the Whole food shop.

Israeli couscous with broccoli, peas and peppers (3)
Banana muffins

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 18:32

Good reasoning, OB. Why no leccy? Well done on essay.

OsmosisBOOnana · 10/11/2008 18:46

bacause we've just had the whole ground floor plastered, so just wires dangling from ceiling and empty socket boxes. It's cold, wet and dark.

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 19:07

Sounds very primitive, ob!

littlerach · 10/11/2008 19:22

TooTicky, my Ils are fab. They leave tomorrow
They are hoping to move back here next year, so that woul dbe nice.

Carrots
Brocollo
Green beans
Parsnip
Butternut squash
More carrts
Banana
Lemon cake
Peppers
Black beans

Blow me, have I got 10?

Where's Franny when you need her with stickers??

Mou, your business sounds good. Do you enjoy it?

I had a bit of a horrid day yesterday, but today was good.

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 19:26

Well done, LR

Where are Bee and Boco?

pinkspottywellies · 10/11/2008 20:06

Well done LR I award the stickers really. Franny rather scoffs at them.

Charlee the stockings sound wonderful! Nice to do something different

Mou, list of wonderful things is fab! I was a bit that dying ends of hair orange was on it but to each her own

SB has bf not met ds at all yet? I guess as a first meeting it would be a biggie. Would you talk to exH before introducing them?

TooT, what on earth is Redwood Celebration Roast? Oh don't worry I'll google it. Urgh!!! No Fake turkey, sausages, bacon and gravy Sounds awful. I'd rather have nut roast. Or macaroni cheese to be fair!

OsBa enjoy lounging with the gin. I think I'm going to go and lounge in bed with hot choc and biscuits in a minute.

Daisy I always come on the next day to see that you'd been kicking about on your own, waiting for someone to talk to. I always feel really sad for you cause I hate it when I post and no-one else is around ((hug))

My baby is 2 [don't know which smiley to choose ]

Night lovely veggers.

pinkspottywellies · 10/11/2008 20:09

BBB is a little cross. Just seen her Facebook status. Haven't seen Boco f'rages.

FrayedKnot · 10/11/2008 20:15

Not that much, TooT! I ma very sensitive to fruit cake...and things like dried apricots.

Christmas cake last night coupled with trying the mincemeat, and then muesli this morning with quite a bit of dried fruit, seems to have tipped me over the edge.

It's gone off now. I think it's an intolerance to sorbitol.

I turned my tummy into a brewery

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 20:16

Why is Bee cross?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY babywellies

BF did meet DS unofficially but we were out and about and it was no big deal and they weren't introduced as BF & DS iyswim. I think I'd have to tell ex but I don't know.

TooTicky · 10/11/2008 20:28

That must have been most unpleasant FK!

SB, presumably bf knows you have a ds?

Celeriac, carrot, turnip. Apple crumble.

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 20:42

Yes, he knows. They occasionally speak on the phone but only because DS is nosey and thinks he should be able to talk to anyone I am speaking with.

Pumpkin cake
Lemon Tea

Ten

mou · 10/11/2008 21:12

Impressed by stockings too CC. Brill and something the DC's will always remember about christmas.

Where I grew up and my M & P still live, we regularly had no electricity (midlands, not some remote island!!) so my sympathies Osba.....got my note book and new pen!!

My painting is my big dream, but yes, I do love my little business Lr, and I have, and have had some lovely customers. I think I am now unemployable though as I love being my own boss!

I shaved the orange bits off but I looked like Aygnes Dean had had a fight in a paint factory!

Does Ds insist on talking to the bank and things SB? Mine did, some people are lovely though.

Babywellies is two...wow..aaahhhhhh! My DD likes to award stickers. I have been known to walk into the local shop with them all over my face!

Good with F&V but too lazy tired to list.

FrayedKnot · 10/11/2008 22:26

Hello

Hope DD had a lovely day Pink, and you too

Am just off to bed, thought i would say night night.

You know, I heard it might not rain tomorrow

Woohoo!

mou · 11/11/2008 06:50

Toot, we are near a river as well, but I always seem to wind up by the canal, it is so calm and quiet, and you actually see more wildlife by the canal. I love the feeling of history, with all the left over details from when it was used for industry.

I have decided to have a few days off over the next few weeks, pre christmas, and have some me time.

Mum and Dad popped in to see me yesterday which they never do..it was lovely.

Lovely day to all.

daisy99divine · 11/11/2008 09:56

Happy Birthday BabyPink!!! hope it was lovely. I loved DS 2 birthday because he was old enough to enjoy but young enough to still do what I wanted

don't feel sorry for me, Pink, how sweet you are, I just keep odd hours. I like to catch up on my vegger friends and get a bit shocked when I get an immediate answer

Osba hope the gin kept you going, you seem to be cracking on with the work

LR glad you ahve had fun with inlaws and tra la la for your 10. Yes, we are a sticker family too. DS mostly gets his for pooing now though which can lead to some funny answers/ conversations in the shop when DS proudly announces the fact

Glad tummy better FK - how are DS teeth Toot?

SB maybe BF and DS for thanksgiving would be a bit heavy for a "first" and if your DS talks to everyone perhaps you need to tell his dad, if they speak regularly (sorry, don't know all background)

daisy99divine · 11/11/2008 09:57

Why is BBB cross?

TigerFeet · 11/11/2008 11:06

Gosh what a lot of busyness is going on here

Happy birthday Pinklette

FK I've shaved one side of my Christmas cake thus far - I had to see if it had turned out all right (which it has). I am going to chop it up into smaller cakes once I've finished feeding it so I thought a missing side wouldn't hurt.

SB could BF and DS meet before Thanksgiving? Then it wouldn't be such a big deal on the day.

Me time sounds good Mou - I am

littlerach · 11/11/2008 13:08

It is sunny here today.

But v windy.

My washing blew off the line

Tomato soup
banana

ILs leaving in an hour or so. We are picking Dd1 up early from school so she can say goodbye (probably be at least a year, maybe 2, before we see them again).
You'll all hear the wailing and sobbing from the girls when they leave.

MIL bought me a Vegeatraian Xmas magazine this morning (may be a hint ot cook different things!!!).

daisy99divine · 11/11/2008 13:22

LR, so sorry about wailing and renting clothes always a down side for good times, iyswim!

TF, lol at pinklette

TooTicky · 11/11/2008 13:23
