For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Oh dear SB, that does sound hard. Can you go to either place withn or without ds? My gut instinct would be to avoid the odd meany.

SuperBunny · 09/11/2008 23:58

DS is invited to both places, but morally, I probably shouldn't take DS to BF's, should I? I don't know. Stress, stress, stress!

What do you eat for xmas, Toot? I'm going to do an early yule/christmas when my sister is here and need inspiration. I was thinking of mushroom wellington or similar and roast veg or something.

Where's everyone been today? No Daisy or OB or the anyone. Has Tatties left us? What about ahundred? Is Lully ok?

daisy99divine · 10/11/2008 00:01

Hello all!!! I never seem to manage to post on weekend and then spend ages trying to catch up when you are all in bed!

Mou, big hugs and fluffy mangoes dear girl, we are here and the yurt loves you

Pink - fab castle and happy birthday for little pink, have a wonderful time!

SB - babysitter sounds odd. Wouldn't mind about bowl, would mind a lot about front door and not back with DS....

And I would have thanksgiving with BF not Friend Who Has Been Funny - building bridges on High Pressure evenings is never great imo

Toot hello and FMV hope you are all well and LittleRach glad you hhave had lovely family

And in our home? Big News is that DS has Pooed!! A LOT - he has earned about 3 Thomas Tank Engine Books - that Movicol does what it says on the packet....

daisy99divine · 10/11/2008 00:05

Oh, SB, hadn't thought of the moral side of going go BF for thanksgiving, it is indeed tough... not sure what would help?

Are you still there daisy?

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 00:16

Mou! Daisy! Hello!

Ye splease to recipe.

Yay for poo!

You ok, mou?

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 00:18

MY BF to just called me from work and, when we went to hang up, he realised he was locked in the store room. ROFL. I should have been sympathetic but I couldn't say goodbye for laughing.

mou · 10/11/2008 00:34

I'm ok SB, think I've been through the worst. I know I have to make changes but it is all so hard.

I am going to set myself some new challenges to throw myself into which will help.

1/really work at debts.
2/photograph my portfolio and measure and describe all of my paintings.
3/research starting a weblog.

Lol at your BF.....

I am thinking about doing the CAT thing. I can't explain why but I get really nervous about doing stuff like that.

Don't know what to suggest about your Thanksgiving plans. 'Odd' friend..it may be a way of peacemaking especially if overall you value her friendship.

Pink, your castle is brilliant!

Belated Happy Birthday Guad, you wee young thing you (pushing 40 here ).

Have been running my little business for 10yrs now so am going to make home-made truffles for my customers for christmas.

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 00:44

Ooo, homemade truffles, how lovely. Good idea. I'm still curious about what you do.

Glad you are ok atm. It's hard to know where to start when you have so much to sort out, isn't it? But I do think breaking it down like you already have is a good way to start. And accepting that it will be hard and will take time is important too. But I think you know that.

If you want to email (not that I can do anything) my address is: busy mamama @ gmail.com

mou · 10/11/2008 00:45

I also have a massive thanks for everyones kindness and support. I feel, calmer and needed to let go a bit. Seeing my mum really helped as well, she has a gentle soul.
I felt so helpless last week and I think it helped to admit it.

mou · 10/11/2008 00:50

I run a home services business......cleaning, ironing, childminding, housesitting. It isn't my life's destiny but I actually quite enjoy it. And I love being self-employed.

Once upon a time my painting was starting to take off with exhibitions and commissions, but as life fell apart, so did it. It is still my dream though. I am going to do some business cards soon and start rebuilding my reputation bit by bit.

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 01:10

Actually, it sounds like a really nice job. It's something I think I'd be good at and would quite enjoy doing.

I'm off to make christmas cards. Hopefully. I keep distracting myself.

mou · 10/11/2008 01:19

Mmmm. I am going back to bed.

Night SB, and thank-you.

lostatsea · 10/11/2008 11:06

Things that helped cheer me up this weekend;

Decided to lurk on MN to try and get some positive vibes, and seeing how much people cared.

Going out for a run, I try to look a bit 'blokey' if I am running in the dark, and someone coming out of a local pub called me 'dude'.

I decided to dye my hair blonde, but there must have been some black tips left from the last time I dyed it and all the ends went bright orange!

My mum.

Walking by the local canal and seeing a weasel/stoat(?)

Hearing Al green sing on Jules Holland show.

Have been inspired by Osba's tales of university and am writing an essay to reawaken my brain. (on Aztec Art).

Giving my DD a makeover and going for night bike-ride with my DS and wearing him out!

Little steps, long road but.....

xxxxxx

OsmosisBOOnana · 10/11/2008 12:25

Good for you. That's a good list.

Am not going to be around much this week (yeah yeah, sure!) as have scary amounts of work to do by the end of the week.

And I have to paint the whole ground floor of the house by Monday.

And I need to do all my family xmas present shopping on Wednesday as they are coming to stay for the w/e and that means avoiding postage costs in a few weeks.

Oh yeah, and it's DD's birthday party on Saturday.

Argh! What am I doing here! Must fly.

daisy99divine · 10/11/2008 16:13

Mou
sorry to miss you last night but glad that you are feeling a bit better - a plan is always a good place to start and your decision to have another go with the painting sounds excellent

I send you a warm and fruity hug and if you want to email me do anytime

SB - ROFL at bf, where is he now, do tell, did he get out???

Osba. Go and get busy!!! sounds a lot to pack in

My day so far? going to work. getting exceptionally wet. coming home. DS clinging to me because he "wanted to do a bit work with Mummy" but I can hear him now singing downstairs and painting, so I shall get off here, finish work and go and join in

fruity hugs to all

CharleeInChains · 10/11/2008 16:19

Sorry i have been muchos slack on posting on here.

Nothing even remotley fun or exciting has happened i have just been busy with mundane household guff.

I have however made 25 delightfull chrismas stockings which i am going to put on some ribbon and use as the boys advent calendar every year. How crafty am i!

FrayedKnot · 10/11/2008 16:24

Hello

Have just about dried out from school run...it's eased up a little bit now but it just bucketed down and crossing our road was like wading thorugh a torrent.

SB...have you heard whether he has got out ?

I don ;t see what morally wrong about taking DS to BF & family. But has BF met DS? Had you planned for him to?

I have had terrible tummy ache all day as a result of ingesting too many dried fruits. That's what comes of shaving the sides off a christmas cake and scoffing them before bed.

Mou - am so pleased you feel a bit brighter. Did talking about things help? I hope so...I'm sorry I didn;t get to posting on your otehr thread but I did read it. Truffles sound lovely

OB...good luck

mou · 10/11/2008 16:26

Big yurt embracing hug....I thought I had scared you all off.

Have been doing well on F & V. Am making exceedingly good cakes at the moment. Banana loaf on the go, mmmm warm with butter low fat spread.

TooTicky · 10/11/2008 16:34

You won't be popping in this week then OsBa

Mou, we are by the canal too. We have so much in common! Your list sounds v. good. Keep it up girl!

SB, at Christmas we usually have a Redwood Celebration Roast which is okay. I will hopefully have nut roast as well, which I prefer. Have nothiung that grinds nuts effectively atm though and pre-ground ones don't taste of anything.

Daisy - hello I was wondering where you were.
