For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 13:42

But fmv is a serial namechanger....

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 13:46

Ha! it is fmv, I spotted her on another thread.

filthymindedvixen · 02/11/2008 13:48

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 13:49

Really? That's very good!

littlerach · 02/11/2008 15:08

Mou, that is both odd and entertaining. In a slightly shudder way .

Dh cooked lunch for us all (ILs are here).
Roast chicken (for them)

french beans

Plus roatsies and yorkies

Then I made apple crumble

They have gone shoppiong now and I am watching the X Facor and trying to stay awake.

umo · 02/11/2008 17:04

SuperBunny · 02/11/2008 17:16

KanyedFrot · 02/11/2008 19:41

Lol at Umo and ewwwww at Runny Pubes

I have been poorly too with a stonking migraine which started yesterday afternoon and carried on well into last night...won;t go into details but it affected my tummy as well as my head

Today's food intake mostly dry toast, and apple, and then have managed to cook & eat some supper.

Feel pants though.

Sorry everyone else has been under the weather too

It must be something in the air

BBBee · 02/11/2008 19:43

i don;t understand your name FK.

sorry you are poorly. time of year an' all.

SuperBunny · 02/11/2008 19:51

Gosh, all these poorly peeps. Sending healthy get well vibes to you all

I have a q: if juice can only count once, what about soup? Can i count it more than once? And how much pumpkin do you think counts as a portion?

KanyedFrot · 02/11/2008 20:06

BBBee am too tired to work out if I have a proper anagram hidden in there

Oh meant to say I read an article in a local free magazine this week about a couple who live in a yurt - really, in fact a series of interconnected yurts, and then they have a big separate yurt that they hold yoga & meditation classes in.

It looks idyllic

Although I would probably be freezing

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 20:10

SB, I think soup would count more than once if it wasn't whizzed. Don't know about portions I'm afraid.

FK - or KF - sorry you've been feeling so bad

Bee - eat something or you will float away on your wave of drugs!

My anagramming didn't go well. IckyToot, CootyKit, TokyoTic and KittyCoo just didn't inspire me.

Stewed apple. Veg and lentil stew with dumplings.

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 20:11

Ds1 is going through hell

filthymindedvixen · 02/11/2008 20:13

oh what hs happened?

filthymindedvixen · 02/11/2008 20:15

if I don't come back to thread is not because I am ignoring, just that I need to spend sme quality time with dh...

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 20:15

His very overcrowded teeth are hurting like mad. Will phone orthodontist tomorrow and see if they can shunt him up the list. He's been in agony on and off for days.

filthymindedvixen · 02/11/2008 20:16

ouch. Have you got any cloves? Boil some up in a small amount of water and let him sloosh with the fluid. Is good for achey teeth.

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 20:18

I don't think he could do it. He is v. sensitive to smells/tastes. But thanks

SuperBunny · 02/11/2008 20:36

Oh, poor DS1, toot. Tooth pain is horrible. I didn't know about cloves. Good idea

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 20:45

It seems to be causing monstrous headaches too

mou · 02/11/2008 21:42

Oh, KF, i had a migraine like that last weekend, you poor thing, and it upsets my tummy as well. No helpfull suggestions as I am still trying to nail them but thinking of you, and your Ds1 toot, the poor mite.

Kittycoo made me lol!

Weekends crap for F&V. but don't eat much at all as H cooks and I don't like to fuss about the fact that I prefer a healthier diet.

Apricots, x2
tomatoes,
banana,
juice,

A good good run, could have just kept on going. H asked me if I wanted to go out....

Fruitcake!!
H just passed me a slice, now I am getting nervous.

Did DS a manicure earlier, sometimes he can be so lovely.
