For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Sounds as if you've had a good day Mou

Right, I need opinions. My next project is this but I can't decide which colour to go for.
I don't tend to wear bright colours. Well, apart from the odd rainbow

SuperBunny · 02/11/2008 23:05

Oooo, I love that, Toot. I'd do it in grey but I'm quite dull. I actually like the purple in the picture.

TooTicky · 03/11/2008 08:18

Ooh how annoying, my link to the colour page doesn't work

SB, I hadn't thought about grey. I was toying with blue marl but it might be a bit daring for me.

TooTicky · 03/11/2008 08:21

Okay, the colours are actually here

TooTicky · 03/11/2008 08:22

I'm tempted by purple...

MamaG · 03/11/2008 08:42

I like "mauve mix" and "saxe" colours

I wish I'd stuck with knitting, sometimes. I learned as a child and made endless scarves but have forgotten everything now

MamaG · 03/11/2008 08:44

ooh I like denim too

Do we need a bonfirey/autumny thread name? We're still doing halloween which is so last month

mou · 03/11/2008 08:49

Wayheeeyyyy!!!! The litle darlings are back at school.

Mou dances around the yurt, knocking over tidy piles and disrupting the mangoes.

Where's daisy these days or has she name changed and I am too dense to work it out?

Go purpole (gonna leave that typo. I like it), Toot. A soft one wouldn't be too brash if you avoid bright colours.
I love grey, especially the pale grey-mahl, you're not dull SB!

I'm going to eat nothing but F&V today as I like a bit if a detox after the weekend. If I get my work done, I might get an hour on my bike.

Will leave the yurt in serenity and peace........

Good day to all and healing vibes to poorly peeps.

TooTicky · 03/11/2008 08:55

MamaG, this is crochet, and a thousand times more fun than knitting. It's much more portable for a start, and you don't have to worry about losing stitches every time you put it down.

I'm leaning in the mauve mix direction....

Dd1 goes back to school on Weds, the boys on Thurs, although ds1 won't be going if he's still in pain.

Yes, where is Daisy?

And OB for that matter.

mou · 03/11/2008 09:18

..just seen my diet coke break crush, can I lurk in here until my temperature goes down and my breathing goes back to normal,

slinks into corner with a 2 litre bottle of diet coke with a guilty smirk, avoiding eye contact with all

CharleeInChains · 03/11/2008 09:27

Just popping in to say hello. No news here of any kind. Still eating F&V when i can, kids driving me mad!

I have a v.busy day today! yay

I hope everyone is ok.

MamaG · 03/11/2008 09:45

Well that just shows how good I am at identifying wool stuff doesn't it

I really like the mauve mix, do that one.

I too am pleased that the DC are back at school [guilty] - TBH they've had a CRAP half term with me at home. My mum offered to have htem for a few days but I selfishly refused. Ireally should have let them go to her, they would have had much more fun. I was just a tired blob in the chair making meals and asking them to play quietly

TooTicky · 03/11/2008 10:40

Mou, you can only drink that in the yurt IF you write an essay about what it is doing to your insides [stern]

Oh poor you MamaG - still, it won't be long now [bright]
(hang on, Franny used to go slightly loopy when anybody said that...uh-oh)

Hello Charlee, have a good day

I am waiting for the Dental Surgeon to phone.

mou · 03/11/2008 11:03

Can I write an essay on what seeing my diet coke crush is doing to my insides instead Toot? !!

On a serious note, I really hope DS is on the mend soon

daisy99malign · 03/11/2008 11:11

daisy99divine · 03/11/2008 11:14

poop poop!!
back as self!

Halloween is so over (weed would have helped tbh )

did trick or treat, herding cats more like it. when we got to our house one small boy/ghost came straight in and sat on sofa and refused to go out again! it was cold

DS still refused to wear costume, so I wore it....

daisy99divine · 03/11/2008 11:14

Toot
what about a greeny colour for the cardigan?

TigerFeet · 03/11/2008 11:14

I have a confession.

I have drunk diet coke in the yurt before now. I got a bit of organic brown paper and wrote "fruit juice" on it and wrapped it round the can so you wouldn't know.

My name is TigerFeet. I am a DietCokeAholic. Good veggers, I need your help.

Right, I'm off to read the thread properly now, will be back in a bit. Laptop still poorly - am back in the office today for the first time in over a week and am making full use of internet connection working very very hard. T'would appear I'm back in time to post on MamaG's labour thread though

daisy99divine · 03/11/2008 11:16

oh, yes, F&V

cauli
apple
banana
blueberries
pumpkin
parsnip soup
orange juice
carrot
sweetcorn (baby ones)
sugar snap peas
satsuma
mushroom
grapes

but that is over the whole weekend!

daisy99divine · 03/11/2008 11:16

oh, yes, and big stir fry or noodly stuff in wagamama

daisy99divine · 03/11/2008 11:18

TF, I too am back at work after busy weekend, hence being busy

Mou and TF I think you have to be in the Pit to drink your diet coke

but of course it's not the same in there without FMV, is she still frollicking with her DH???

daisy99divine · 03/11/2008 11:20

I left "posting on MN" out of last post, so it didn't make much sense

but I guess you guessed that!

mou · 03/11/2008 11:22

ROFL at diet coke confession TF.

Everybody shout at me if I come back on MN before 3.00pm. I am SUPPOSED to be working. But am feeling giddy with (too much diet coke) the joys of life!

MamaG · 03/11/2008 11:25

oh God I'm currently drinking Diet Coke but I have cut down massively whilst pg

From at least on can/bottle a day to one or two a week

I'VE HAD A SHOW EVERYBODY!!!!!

mou · 03/11/2008 11:40

Mama G.......

Lol that everybody is making diet coke confessions but nobody batted an eyelid at my confession at having the hots for another man!

I'm going.
