For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Bero I'll miss you

Daisy, have you really taken up fencing?

Had a lovely Samhain lunch today but bittersweet because it is my last day with my mum here and it's been lovely having her here this week. It makes such a difference having another adult around and it's lovely to be spoiled for a bit. She even made me a cup of tea. No-one ever does that.

Food bit rubbish really other than pumpkin soup and mixed berries.

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2008 08:01

Morning! I've been awake since about 4 and couldn't get back to sleep.

Crap food. 4 slices of cuc yesterday and a pot of mushy peas Had a piece of toast and some hot chocolate this morning. Will try harder.

Need to start steppering. I think every other day is a good target to start with. And I'd better aim for 500 cause it takes me as long to do that as it used to do 1000! Will you all nag me when you see me on here and make me do it

I had a plumber here all day yesterday so sent dd to nan's cause the door was open and we had noisy machines on. She had a wonderful time. They made a sylvanian aeroplane out of a loo roll, carved a pumpkin, went to the park, got a new Thomas the Tank comic with a train conductor's ticket belt! She wanted it on first thing this morning and now I'm wearing it on my head and I'm a princess who lives in a castle

pinkspottywellies · 01/11/2008 08:03

SB, glad you had a lovely time with your mum. It's horrid when it has to end isn't it.

BBBeeast · 01/11/2008 11:00

HELLO!

i hope you all are still and continue to remain delightful and lovely.

I am ill and have a list of 100 things to do but am here instead.

FrightKnot · 01/11/2008 11:09

Morning everyone

Sorry you are ill BBBee...what's up?

Pink, have you done the stepper yet?

SB glad you've had a lovely time with your Mum...sorry you are about her leaving though obv.

I'm going out tonight to a social event with DH. I won;t know anyone there.

I haven;t done this for years

It's kind of scary

TooTIfYouAreScared · 01/11/2008 14:49

Pink - step to it!!

Bee, you okay?

It is FREEZING here.

Came back with headache from hell yesterday and had to go straight to bed. Am feeling rather queasy today so wonder if it was migraine or something.

for Lully.

BBBee · 01/11/2008 14:57

i am being a bit drama queenish about it all i feel. started as a cold and headache but did martyr like soildering on over half term and now feel like i have run into a wall.

have lemsip, left over trick or treats and harry potter. feeling very sorry for myself.

BBBee · 01/11/2008 14:58

toot - do you get migraines? I don;t remember you mentioning them before - i really hope it wasn't - they are vile. Maybe you have one of these bugs like me.

I think we should eat chilli tonight.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 01/11/2008 14:59

Lie down while I massage manuka honey into your temples and anoint you with the sacred lemon whilst reciting vegger blessings.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 01/11/2008 15:01

No, I don't think I do get migraines. The headache was largely brought on by dehydration and night driving but the queasiness - which I do get with bad headaches - m,ade me wonder.
I can always sleep them off though, given the opportunity.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 01/11/2008 15:02

I think I'll make stew'n'dumplings tonight.

BBBee · 01/11/2008 15:20

a hot toddy is actually a bad idea when you are ill isn't it.

toot - hope someone else will cook it for you.

TooTicky · 01/11/2008 15:24

Yes. Especially if you are feverish.

Somebody else cook?? Ha!!
I'm okay really, just not sure if I should eat. The headache itself has gone.

TooTicky · 01/11/2008 15:26

Ds1 is in almost constant pain with his teeth and head

filthymindedSixSixSixen · 01/11/2008 15:27

sorry for poorly people.

The house id still a dump filled with sweety papers and pumpkin seeds, but the boys ghave gone to park with DH and I am writing a shopping list. and MNetting

Big bonfire and fireworks tonight! I'm so esxcited.....

Guadalupe · 01/11/2008 15:31

I have hoovered twice today trying to get all the halloween confetti and silly string up. It keeps reappearing from somewhere.

Why can't you have a hot toddy? Is it the alcohol? I always have brandy when I'm ill.

TooTicky · 01/11/2008 15:32

I think it's one of those things that feels medicinal but actually isn't.

OsmosisBOOnana · 01/11/2008 15:40

Oh buns TooT, Bocster and assorted other ill / sad folk. It's no good. I will cast your ills into the cauldron tonight, am off to samhain thingummy in about 10 mins.

I am taking last years payslip as my bad thing to burn, a wooden spoon as my hope for next year ( for my course, geddit?!) and Isla is taking a teddy I don't like. It has no meaning, apparently I can't chuck a nasty nappy on the bonfire!

Am feeling good about my essay. Don't know if I told you I'd made a Terrible Mistakow sorted.

TooTicky · 01/11/2008 15:45

The wrong end of the stick? Glad you got it turned around.
How was the presentation?

Boco · 01/11/2008 16:12

Hope you feel better soon Bee. I'm feeling alright today, antibiotics working. It's freeezing. Have lit the fire. Dp gone to a wedding, my brother came to stay but buggered off because he was cold - wuss.

littlerach · 01/11/2008 16:20

WE (stupidly) went out for the day.
It wasn't raining at firts, then it pired, and was so cold.
WE went ot a farm type place, but the girls were terrified as the rams and goats kept ramming the gates and the pigs were grunting so loud.
They managed a pony ride then we stayed indoors all of the time
Nice macaroni cheese and chips
and hallowe'en cookies.

Enjoy the samhain thingummy OB.

Hope all ill veggers feel better soon.

TooTicky · 01/11/2008 17:07

WHY IS IT SO COLD??

I should be cooking but dd2 is sleeping warmly in my lap.

MamaG · 01/11/2008 17:08

BBBee · 01/11/2008 17:10
