For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Juice,

pear,
a gallon of tea.

I love wednesdays and DS is in a good mood. .

So are you writing a book to illustrate yet Boco? (whispers 'I am', but completely different style to you..)

Fab day to all, comforting hugs and munchies to Guad and the kitchenless one ( can't get off this page without deleting my message!).

Ghouladalupe · 29/10/2008 09:06

It is FREEEEZING and I feel rough today, probably due to standing by the road for so bloody long. It was quite scary actually, this car swung abruptly on to our side and we had to pull up the verge to avoid it. I saw he was quite old and thought maybe he was ill at first but he'd just hit another car, complete write off, and the poor boy was only 18 and in shorts. DH had to drive their crunchy cars off the road and they were all in such a state, the old man had just lost his father and his wife said he shouldn't really have driven. The dh drove the boy to his girlfriends mums house while I waited with the old couple and then the police came and we had to wait AGES as the man was using my phone and eventually the police got out phone back and let them use theirs so we could go.

The odd thing was the lady gave me a half eaten box of turkish delight that she said they had bought for a turkish family that didn't want it because they said it was disgusting but would our children like it seen as they hadn't had any tea. I said no thanks and the policeman was trying not to laugh but she was very sweet.

Anyway, I had a very nice day and I am going to try and make tiffin as it it is bloody lovely. I need honey and lemon first though, my chest aches and ds2 is erupting in chicken pox. Sigh.

hammouhouseofhorror · 29/10/2008 09:36

Oh Guad, take it easy today, if you can. Wish there was something I could do for you.

CharleeInChains · 29/10/2008 09:41

Gaud

I hope things start looking up for you soon.

Ghouladalupe · 29/10/2008 10:05

Oh, it will be fine, thanks. I will make chicken soup for lunch and all will be well. Maybe we'll have tiffin for pudding because er, sugar boosts the immune system doesn't it.

When do the spots stop appearing? I can't remember. They seem to be multiplying as we watch.

Boco - Peppa pig won't work in our dvd player. I think I'm the most disappointed.

Boco · 29/10/2008 10:09

I definitely have flu - have the skin crawly achey temperature thing, and v sore throat and headache. I am only up because dp blinking useless at getting the girls ready. They've just gone off to friends house with no breakfast - why could dp not have considered feeding them? They're going to tell friend they've not been fed in style of poor neglected children. He's going straight on to work and I'm going to bed.

Boco · 29/10/2008 10:13

Hah, only just worked out who loveandrockets is! Hello x

Ghouladalupe · 29/10/2008 10:21

Oh no. Hope you feel better after a day in bed. Swallow garlic, gargle cider and get dp to make you chicken soup. I am hoping mine is just a cold.

filthymindedSixSixSixen · 29/10/2008 10:27

ugh Boco...cider vinegar with honey! Gargle, now!

hammouhouseofhorror · 29/10/2008 11:35

DS is out, DD playing with a friend upstairs.

I am listening to Bloc party, footling about, going for a walk with girls in fabulous autumn weather shortly.

aahhh!

All I need now is a good run later, have got a good well lit route for dark autumn evenings and am going to start timing myself to increase the challenge.

OsmosisBOOnana · 29/10/2008 12:18

hammouhouseofhorror · 29/10/2008 12:33

Does putting music on my new phone, reading Marie Claire, MNing and keeping general eye on two delightful girls (playing with pepper pig figures) count as multitasking?

Childrens breakfast!! duh I knew I was supposed to do something important...thanks Boco. Get well soon.
