We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Franny, we'd miss the photos if you have a break.

Boco (and 100) - we watched The Wire back to bcak for about 100 days, and were so addicted

There is another series called The Corner that is also in Blatimore, but is true story. was good, but quite depressing.

You must watch The Shield next, tis v v v good too.

OB, when do you go on holiday?

It is sunny today
The washing looks nice on the line.

OsmosisBanana · 06/09/2008 14:29

6am.

It isn't sunny here. Am missing Soil Assoc food fest cos it's horrid.

SuperBunny · 06/09/2008 15:57

I don't play the cello, TF. I was given one a couple of weeks ago so I am trying to learn. I suspect the neighbours are not thrilled. The people who gave it to me also have a spare violin that I'd like to aqcuire. I've always wanted to do folky fiddling too.

OB, I'll ask BF about the comic. Haven't heard of it. I want to read Midnight's children.

Hope you are ok Franny. You didn't sound tetchy but hope you feel more like yourself soon. Take good care of yourself.

I read the corner. It's a lot like the surrounding neighbourhoods here. Very sad.

I haven't ever seen a slug in the US. My allotment is looking a bit sad- tomatoes on their last legs after too much heat. Lettuce and spinach refusing to grow. Must pull up some leeks.

MimsieNet · 06/09/2008 17:13

Franny, wasn't aware of you being tetchy mate, but far better to come and be tetchy on here than be tetchy in RL...

we luuurve you x

not doing to well today on F&V front. Raspberries, tomatoes and an apple. But I didn't have an ice cream when we were out. Does that count for goodness?

Home made pizza for tea with salad so will attempt 7 portions then!

FrannyandZooey · 06/09/2008 18:23

this is impossible
I eat veg and think of you
I can't not come and report my huge plate of carrots and sweetcorn I just ate
but I am tetchy and Mn is making me tetchier and I am looking for things from it that it is not giving me atm

and am pissed off you only miss me for the PHOTOS waaaaaaah

OsmosisBanana · 06/09/2008 18:34

don't be like that! You're funny and wry and kick start conversations when we all fall silent or have nothing to talk about except bottom matters.

Just because MN doesn't provide what you need atm, doesn't mean it's not there. You've had a baby FGS (just in case you hadn't been made aware ) nothing is anything and anything is nothing.

Gibberish i know but I hope that comes across as a virtual stroke.

They are playing 'Hallelujah' on Shrek. listen to it.

OsmosisBanana · 06/09/2008 18:35

Oh dear, now I'm crying. I love 'Hallelujah'

Tatties · 06/09/2008 18:35

Is the life coach the same thing as the bus trip to wales? Arf.

Tatties · 06/09/2008 18:41

I had some counselling recently, and there was a bit of what I imagine life coaching to be like. I didn't like that bit, don't like being told what to do

littlerach · 06/09/2008 18:47

Didn't do the beans (in case you were worried )

Homemade pizza.
Pear
apple x2
grapes
tomatoes

Raining now.

We're supposed ot be going to BBQ later - noit likely!!

BBBee · 06/09/2008 18:47

lettuce
onion
carrot
sweetcorn
olives
coconut (?)

fz - i ate an extra apple last night after you told me - so there.

have been pondering prozac thing all day. I was still awake at three last night and felt so stressed with it all. I thought I would have a drink but haven;t drunk for ages and then found some abstinte (sp) that DP had and had a glass of that. I don;t think it helped but I did go to sleep and woke up with a headache.

Tatties · 06/09/2008 18:48

Franny did you get that gorgeous stripey blanket?

Lullabyloo · 06/09/2008 19:07

Hello

Franny thankyou,you are lovely

bit glum, but will go & read thread

SuperBunny · 06/09/2008 19:15

Hello Lully

Glad you are safe from the beans, LR.

When my insomnia first started, I'd drink to help me sleep. It worked. But then didn't so I had to drink more to fall asleep. And so it continued to the point where I could drink quite a lot and still be wide awake. One day, I though, this is not very good, so I stopped drinking. I have tried the sleep hygiene thing, ADs and sleeping pills. Nothing really helps. But I have realised that I have never slept well. I remember being 7 and asking my 5 yr old sister how to fall asleep. She said, "you lie down and close your eyes" It works for her...

Anyway, my point is that I don't know what will help you. But that something might and that you are not alone. Doesn't help, I know. The problem is, worrying about it makes it worse.

SuperBunny · 06/09/2008 19:16

My laptop burnt my leg last night It's a proper burn, like from a flame

It's probably my fault for spending too long on here

Guadalupe · 06/09/2008 19:28

Hello, Lully. I have wondered where you were.

Franny - welcome back.

Dh and I had a bickery sort of day so when I went into town to post a parcel for FMV I decided to go alone to the cinema, unarranged, unorganised, unrequested and quite unheard of. Reader, I recommend it.

No lunch. Dinner is steak with watercress, balsamic beetroot and oyster mushrooms.

FrayedKnot · 06/09/2008 20:03

Guad what a marvellous idea. What did you see?

Franny please hover....we need you. At least check in once or twice a day? Otherwise you know what this lot are like, they'll be right off the wagon, indulging in their cheese fetishes....

UR, ouch, put it on a cushion Mine gets pretty hot too.

I have to admit to one of those lap trays you can order from the Sunday telegraph supplement magazine with the cushion underneath - but an ordinary cushion works too.

Have tried hard not to have anything too sugary today. Did have a few sultanas in my muesli and two squares of dark chocolate. And an apple and a clementine.

Still as itchy as f*ck

Have also been realy wiped out, DH keeps asking me what the matter is, I think I have explained about 7 times now

Hope you feel better soon OB, don;t stop taking stuff if you start, it's not worth it. And enjoy Portugal. Whatever the weather it could surely not possibly be as dismal as England this weekend

Sorry to everyone who has insomnia. I see first hand how it affects DH

filthymindedvixen · 06/09/2008 20:28

I've just bneen edited by tech - I feel strangely proud

I have also made 20 chr**tmas cards

OsmosisBanana · 06/09/2008 20:50

will anyone admit to watching X Factor? Only the auditions mind.....

Bought fab jumper in TK maxx today. DH was stunned. I don't do TK Maxx, as soon as I ger home i start looking up grenade launchers on ebay.

Will fit right in with the kidz. Without looking too much like one. Have been warned off this approach.

filthymindedvixen · 06/09/2008 20:52

dewscribe jumpers..

SuperBunny · 06/09/2008 21:02

What did you see, Guad?

FMF, why were you edited?

Dinner made, cupcakes done (they're the best I've ever made and they are egg and dairy free), been to garden, cleaned, sorted storage area, had bath. Now waiting for BF who said he'd be here at 5. I have resolved to go out without him if he isn't here by six. I haven't told him that I should probably put some lipstick on so that, if he does show up, I won't frighten him.

Must paint toenails and play cello. Am a busy bee today

filthymindedvixen · 06/09/2008 21:06

tee hee
