We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I thought your vainy penis was hilarious Franny. I couldn't think of anything though.

Guadalupe · 05/09/2008 16:50

Am I very good for thrush?

Guadalupe · 05/09/2008 16:51

I was very pleased with my tiger who came in the tea but sadly for me, soupy posted her rather good epic straight after.

FrannyandZooey · 05/09/2008 17:12

aren't you, MrsC? I thought you were anti-yeast expert

"I hate it when everyone is listening and your skills all fall off."

I read that as your skirts all fall off
I hate that too

ds1 is trying to amuse ds2 with some buttons and some spaghetti (his obsessions for the last two days)

Yay! We are off the hook w/r amusement park in pouring rain! I kept looking out of he window at work and imaging how I would feel tomorrow after 6 hours wandering round in perpetual stair-roddy precipitation....

I am now planning world's cosiest duvet day with dvds, popcrn, bacon sarnies etc. Oh and lots of fruit, of course

Shall I traumatise the boys totally by making them watch Watership Down?

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 17:23

Oh dear, I'm sorry everyone is ill and fed up and things. That's no good at all. I am going to organize a bus trip for you all somewhere. Somewhere where there will be fruit and comfortable chairs. It'll be a bit like a Sunshine bus. Actually, we could hire one of TooTs from her village couldn't we.

Am interested to hear about Life Coaching things.

Your name is funny FMV. Because I have convinced myself that I am not posting much on MN I have taken it off my bookmarks, so now have to Google it everytime I am not on it. Anyway, it always comes up and says 'Do You Mean Misnet?' which makes me laugh.

But there will be no more Misnet. Oh no. A day away in my bus will cheer us all up. I expect. Perhaps. Mebbe. [mumbles]

fruit and comfortable chairs?? Dear lord, you'll be suggesting jigsaws of Windsor castle and a good old sing-song next
we are depressed, not 104....!

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 17:29

Oh god, it's just everyone seemed fed up. So, I thought 'fruit' you know to be topical. Then I thought about people at the back like BBee and Boco saying 'Where are we going to sit down? Will there be elevenses? This is a rubbish trip. I want a better trip' and so I threw in some chairs for them.

It'll be fine. There will be sing-songs.

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 17:31

Hope TooT hasn't double-booked or messed up with her bus bookings again.

I might find points of interest along the way. Might. If you're nice.

MimsieNet · 05/09/2008 17:31

(I actually like a good old sing-song. And comfy chairs. And elevenses. Where do I sign up?)

BBBee · 05/09/2008 17:35

but will there be elevenses?

MimsieNet · 05/09/2008 17:37

Oh and perhaps a High Tea somewhere? I have very fond memories of going on a pensioners' bus trip with my granmother when I was 10. They never stopped eating all day!. Morning coffee and biscuits at one place. Some gentle scenery.
''Eeeh, Edna, look at them trees.''
'' Ooh yes Mary luv. Lorra trees.''
''Eeeeh, would you look at all that grass.''
''ooohhh yes Mary. Can't abide the stuff, nasty damp mess if you ark me...''
etc etc
Then a hearty fish and chip lunch..Then a gentle shuffle round some gardens. Then tea and biscuits. Then a little more picturesque scenery. Then a proper High Tea. Then home.

It made me long to be old and go on bus trips.

SuperBunny · 05/09/2008 18:07

FMF, that is the autumn I remember from my childhood. Was it really like that or have we all made it up?

How was swimming, Boco? I like the 'virtuous things I have done' thing. I am going to start a list.

I have a pale green coat. Sory of Sagey colour. Might not be able to wear it for a few weeks because it is fitted and I am bigger than the coat would like. h

MimsieNet · 05/09/2008 18:12

no SB, that is what Autumn was like. Until quite recently. A couple of years ago?

(oh, tis me, fmf)

SuperBunny · 05/09/2008 18:17

Oh, see, I forget about Autumn. We don't have much of one here, not like at home where you see the spiders webs covered in dew. I t is nice and damp and cooler here now and smells all yummy. No woodsmoke in the city though just fumes and wet concerete.

What can I make people for xmas? Mum, sister, Dad, S-Dad. Something crochet-able? Not scarfs.

SuperBunny · 05/09/2008 18:18

And we don't really have conkers

Guadalupe · 05/09/2008 18:24

Oh I see, Franny. I am not good at eating yeast, no, but I don't have good remedies. It doesn't affect me in that way.

We are having chinese takeaway for dinner. I can't be faffed to cook. It is cold and wet and our friends have gone camping without us. I couldn't face it in the rain. I am feeling lazy today.

Where is our trip going to be? Can it be the Carribean, please, with a barbeque and sizzling crevettes and langoustine and champagne and white sand and a sunset and everything will magically look balmy and everyone will look happy and rudely good in their swimwear?

berolina · 05/09/2008 18:24

Glad you are cheerier OB and UR.

I am in a very odd mentally-alert-but-physically-knackered state. Most of the knackeredness comes from lugging ds1's solid wood LikeaBike several kilometres when he refused to ride it for most of the way from kindergarten to and round the botanic garden to the bus to second-hand shop where I hoped in vain to get him a cheap second set of waterproofs. Also dh had used my baby carrier and for some reason I couldn't get it adjusted back the way I needed it, but I only noticed when I was too far away from home to turn back and get the sling instead. So that was heavy, rucksack was heavy, bike was heavy, ds1 was dawdly and I am aching.

ds1 accidentally trapped another child's fingers in the door of Lovely Kindergarten while I was picking him up I felt very bad and very embarrassed towards the girl's very nice Papa who was picking her up too. He was lovely about it but I can't stop thinking 'goodness what if they got home and realised they're broken or something?' Poor ds1 went all snaily (into his shell).

Oh I will come on the day trip. I like elevenses and bus sing-songs and bandstands and comfortable chairs and of course fruit.

berolina · 05/09/2008 18:27

oh Guad stop it, I would have to not go, I never look good in swimwear.

FrannyandZooey · 05/09/2008 18:37
