We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hello 100, you lucky Italy-holidaying thing Although I admit I'm not hugely fond of heat. The Berlin climate is just a tiny bit too continental for me.

I have had a day of revelations re ds1. Went to pick him up from LK at about 1.30 and he had been delightfully happy since about 9.30 when dh left him. Now he was fine at his old kindergaten after a couple of weeks of settling in with one of us there, but this was his third day. Kindergarten teachers were full of praise for him Then we stopped at the playground. Now ds1 is (was?) not hugely physically confident, although he has really taken to his LikeaBike, and really doesn't (didn't?) go on climby stuff in playgrounds at all. I sat and looked away for a bit and he called 'Mama, I'm up here' and there he was on this 6ft platform thing. I had the sense to restrain myself from going over and hovering. I watched him climb down then and he was very careful, but calm and secure careful, not nervous careful. Then we went for a walk and coffee and I took him to a yoga class, first time, in a room belonging to a very lovely slings-wooden-toys-and-organic-baby-clothes shop near us. The woman running it said it would be better fot the whole group's focusing and stuff if I didn't stay. I was most and couldn't hep thinking of Franny's mad gym woman. But ds1, after announcing 'I'm thinking', said he'd be okay with me going out, so I went out into the shop and looked at stuff and waited, expecting him to need me any minute, really. And I heard his happy voice a couple of times and he came out at the end and the woman said he'd watched for half an hour and joined in at the end and had been fab. I am very proud and glowy and sort-of reassured of my mothering skills.

How was your day, Slur? And everyone, of course, but I wanted to ask the birthday girl.

Saw a desk chair today that I desperately want - I've currently got a creaky old non-ergonomic non-desk chair from (probably) the 60s that dh rescued from his institute 8 years ago, and am getting cobcerned that if I carry on neglecting my back my luck will run out on it and I won't be able to be a doula. But it costs 380 euros.

Rocket, cucumber, banana, veg lasagne leftovers, baked courgette, apple juice, pear.

avi and TooT can I ask about spd? things are so much better for everyday activities, in fact I wouldn't know there was anything wrong, but when I do the specific things you are not meant to do, it all feels strained and wonky again the next day
we rubbed hands in a doorway last night and today half my pelvis feels like it might decide to wander off in another direction
it doesn't HURT as such, but it isn't right
did you have any effects after the birth and if so for how long? I have heard it can last as long as you bf for bit of a bugger for us lentilly types

Sorry about SPD discomfort Fra. Is it a bit early for it to be completely right though? [waits for Avi and FK emoticon]

I put on movie star then took it off because dh wandered over and said 'Wtf are you doing?' and I said 'I'm showing my nice internet friends a picture of you and ds2 looking like movie stars' and he did mucho sighing and staring and scratching of head. You'd have liked it Fra. But he's not here so I'll try and do it again.

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 21:32

arf at doorway antics.

I managed to eat just half a pack of halloumi and stuffed in extra salad. This is progress.

I am watching Good Will Hunting. It is such a satisfying film except for Minnie's jowels. Those are annoying. I keep expecting her to spit out some seed.

I'll bring photographs.

I didn't put it on because dh came by and said 'wtf are you doing?' and I said 'I'm showing my nice internet friends a photo of you and ds2 looking like movie stars' and he said 'Did you say I looked like a movie star' and I nodded all pleased and he said 'I don't look like a movie star. I look like a prick' and then did sighing and rueful looks and I said 'well, look, the movie star thing isn't important, actually I think ds2 looks more like a move star' and he said 'Do you think we'll get tickets for the Olympics in 2012?' and I said 'So I have to upload this' and he said 'Don't do that. Let's play cards' and I said 'I don't want to play cards really' and he did more sighing.

So I didn't play cards, but I also didn't put up pictures.

I am reading various threads on MN now though. It's quite odd after you've been away for a bit isn't it? You wonder.

Hello!

A tad short notice for me I'm afraid Fran, which is a shame because I'm sure I'd love ds2 and ds1 obv .

I just came back from lovely meal out, which included lots of nice things like roasted peppers and carrots and leeks and onions and tomatoes and red cabbage, ooh it was scrummy.

And then we strolled back through the park on the way home (ours is a very local Italian restaurant) and the children whooped and went wild giggling and chasing each other in the semi dark, feeling a bit unconventional and rebellious as the only people in the playground. That was especially nice, definately better for them, ds was not very esay to contain in restaurant, he does well outside.

And I have lovely gifts and five cards from dcs - I think they got carried away a bit.

Happy sigh. A good day

Tittybangbang · 04/09/2008 21:51

LOL at Minnie's annoying jowels....

2 apples
3 dried prunes
3 dried apricots
veg pasta with portion of brocolli on the side
pear
packet of dried pineapple
handful of mini carrots

That's 8 I think

ds2 (the curly one) who's 3 starts at nursery next Wednesday. He's doing 9.30 - 3.30. Very anxious right now. We've not really been apart at all, except when my mum's had him for the odd night (he's been away from me for 3 nights altogether I think). I can't think how he's going to be, away from me for all that time. If I had to show you an image that sums up our relationship it's this one:

F&Z - have you tried binding your pelvis to help stabilise it? You know - with one of those elastic belt thingies?
