We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Are there brown children on my yellow box yet? If it doesn't appear I can't be bothered to go through all that palaver I never understand. It's not a very interesting photograph though, to anyone except me, dh and possibly a grandmother. If it's there though you all have to go, 'Oh' and then think of something charming to say. [test]

BBBee · 04/09/2008 19:16

um, the relevance of that post ecapes me now.

BBBee · 04/09/2008 19:18

hello 100

i can see it - it is lovely. I like ds1 looking off camera in a big t-shirt.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:21

Thank you Bee. [bows] You pass the test. DS1 is probably worried about losing his glasses I expect.

I have skimmed thread. If Zippi tells us how she lost weight I'll join you. I am dreadfully fat at present. Despite the swimming but possibly because of the pizza. I saw a friend today who has just had her fourth baby, she looked about 12 from behind. I told her this and said I wished I looked like that. She burst into tears and said she wished she had a dog. So I gave her a hug, and we agreed that you couldn't have everything.

tell more about the brothers fighting - were they drunk? did theyh hug after? did you and MIL do a looking at each other and then looking at your drinks thing?

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 19:27

That's a lovely picture. What pretty brown children you have. They all look blondish in that picture, and you and your dh are dark aren't you? I am waiting for my children's hair to turn black.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:28

Oh it was very exciting, because dh's family are all very well behaved all the time, which I find surprising as mine are spectacularly badly behaved.

So it was all wonderful, and was all to do with the Mozart baby. And the father who Franny called a fucker came out shouting about how dh and other brother had taken the baby for a walk because they'd gone back to sleep, and dh shrugged and looked at a tree but other brother said 'you fucking arsehole, we've been looking after your fucking baby. get out of your pit if you're not happy about it' and fucker brother ignored him and he blew up and said 'DON'T FUCKING IGNORE ME.'

MIL did sucking of teeth, and when brother shouted that he got out of his seat and that was when I thought there would be a fight, but there wasn't, sadly.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:31

DS's are blonde, always have been but shouldn't be because yes, we are both dark. DD is usually dark but gets expensive looking highlights in the sun. I like that photo mostly I think because ds1 and dd look nice in it, whereas usually ds2 is the one who looks like a movie star and we all look like his misfit relations. Is refreshing.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:34

Is revenge.

Well thank you for letting me brag and boast and generally show off. I do like doing that.

But it seems we are back at school now and dd says I have to listen to her read. Don't see why, have managed not to do that for months now.

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 19:35

Yes, I remember he looked like thingy from trainspotting in the other photo, what was his name? Johnny lee Miller, that was it.

Avi, what do you mean, 'Obama has had it now'? at Titty's wanting to be Baracked

I have rugby player legs. I blame my Welsh genes. The rest of my body seems to be trying to match them now which is not good. Doesn't help that as soon as I put DS to bed I want to eat and eat and eat. The vegan thing doesn't help me lose weight. I suspect if I added exercise again it would. But I'm lazy...

Hooray for lovely restaurant staff.

@ ahundred

Congrats on bikini shopping OB

How do you know when everyone's birthday is? Happy Birthday Slur

It's raining here. Lots. It reminds me of England

Banana, raisins, apple, mushroom barley risotto and a pile of broccoli (4 and a bit?)

SuperBunny · 04/09/2008 19:52

Guadalupe, you should come here for hot hot summers and cold cold winters Why are none of us happy in the climate we are in?

ahundred, your children look lovely

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:53

Do you think so Franny? I have a v. movie star picture of the two of them together. Shall I put it on?

God, why am I doing this? lolol

FrayedKnot · 04/09/2008 19:57

Happy Birthday Slur! I hope you have a nice meal tonight

Dedication to DS (and Veggers) was a lovely story

100x I'm afraid you have made me very I lived in Italy for a year as a student and never quite fell out of love with it

Tonight I ate the first of my homegrown aubergines, it was delicious. Another couple are struggling masterfully with the lack of sun

I don;t like boiling heat but I love balmy June in the med type weather

Next year I have promised myself we will save and go somehwere...has anyone been to Dubrovnik? people keep telling me how lovely it is.

zippitippitoes · 04/09/2008 19:58

i am off to wales tomorrow it was on tv tonight ds rang up to tell me on the one show did anyone watch

SuperBunny · 04/09/2008 20:00

Oh I never remember anything

What was on telly, zippi?

littlerach · 04/09/2008 20:12

I heart Italy.

My friend moved there a couple of years ago and we visited last year and it felt like home.

Their beautiful house did help a lot.

Dd1's school bus forgot to drop her home this afternoon.

It just drove past whilst i stood open mouthed. I was rather worried and consequently rather angry too.

Fortunately, once I manage do catch up, dd1 was fine, and was thinking it was an adventure
(She has started reading The Secret Seven over the hols)

IdrisTheDragon · 04/09/2008 20:18

Hello

I can't see your pictures 100x [sulk]
