We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oooh, you smug old snake!

You've been gone ages. Have you had fun?

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 18:48

[intercepts plums. EATS]

filthymindedvixen · 04/09/2008 18:48

hello hundred!!

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 18:49

Yes, yes. We came back two days ago I think.

Oh the sky was blue. The sun was hot. The coffee was good. There were swimming pools. It was tip top.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 18:50

[eats pea]

I cried when I walked off the airplane. Really, I did. It was just so wonderful, and no clouds, just dark blue sky and sunshine. God it was great.

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 18:51

Two days ago? I thought you had name-changed in the last week. I think someone must have sounded like you.

Where was hot? Not this bloody country. Was it Italy? You lucky things. I have been saying that we can't go anywhere hot as the flight will be too long for ds2 but ffs, we sat in the car for eleven hours to cornwall, a four hour flight will be a breeze in comparison.

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 18:52

I need to sit in the sun with a cocktail and a book. Oh yes I do.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 18:52

And actually you know what, that week with dh's family really was okay. Really, it was. There was one exciting moment when one of his brother's shouted that another one was a fucking arsehole - I enjoyed this v. much and was v. wide-eyed and excited and thought there might be a fight. But there wasn't.

But it was actually okay, and whenever my MIL started to drive me crazy I walked away. Which was grown up I think. And children played with cousins and stopped fighting each other.

And then we went to Sienna. [sigh]

Would you like to know more?

Yep.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 18:55

It's only two hours Guad. Two hours away there is a bright warm sunshine, cheap wine, proper pasta and proper coffee. And dusty tracks and olive groves and warm tomatoes.

We stayed at an Agritourismo during our Grand Tour which made its own olive soap. Thought I'd share that.

Will stop going on about it now.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2008 18:57

Hello 100. Did you cry getting off the plane at this end too? I would have done. It's FREEEEZING here. I want to put the heating on. Is not allowed. Dp offering to burn things instead. I'm jealous of bronzedness and dark blue sky.

FrannyandZooey · 04/09/2008 19:00

i am jealous of the tomatoes
that's it

100 can i tell you ds2 is on the 98th centile for weight now
i may have mentioned it once or twice to these good people

Oh I like the sun. I'm think I'm a flower perhaps, which surprises me almost as much as it must surprise you. I open up in the sun and smile a lot.

But yes, boasting dreadful as a rule, agree.

No felt quite ready to come back in a way. Everyone did, dcs off to school the next day. All keen about that, so that was good.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:04

Now that is impressive boasting. 98th percentile? We never get near that. Am impressed.

Came back though to v. sniffy copyeditor notes which I've spent the last two days going through, and bristling and muttering under my breath. Lots of 'why?'s written in the margin, and I mutter 'because I made it up.' Annoyingly sniffy copyeditor is right ALL THE TIME. I hate pedants, but am grateful too which is hard for me.

That's it really. Any news? How are you all?

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 19:05

I have a missing post. Where did it go?

Only two hours away. Is that really true? Bugger farms and peaks and districts. I need continental.

I feel slothful in the sun, and always look forward to Autumn coming, but a week somewhere hot sounds VERY appealing indeed.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:07

Yes, really. I need to see the sun I've decided. I've explained to dh that I might write that down in a contract but he just sniffed at me. Hang on, I have a picture of dcs which he's sent me from the main computer. It's not v. interesting, just dcs with sun tans actually, no views or anything.

Boco · 04/09/2008 19:09

I love the sun, am much much happier in the sun. I would like to live in a hot country and then I'd be ridiculously happy all the time. dp hates it, he likes cold and dank.

ahundredtimes · 04/09/2008 19:12

I always think I like the cold, but I don't. I want to live in the heat too. Also I go brown really quickly, like that's what my skin has been waiting for.

However, I live in a damp place. So there we go.

What news with you Boco? Have you booked your driving test?

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 19:12

I like both. I like extremes of everything. I would be happiest with a hot dry wispy summer and desperately cold and dark barren winter. Of course we get neither.

Guadalupe · 04/09/2008 19:14

We go brown too. Everyone asks if we've been abroad and I say no, we've been to cornwall and it rained.

BBBee · 04/09/2008 19:15

you have an orange belt though boco
