For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

No mention of the Mozart though.

FrannyandZooey · 02/08/2008 17:01

oh hoorah hoorah
I am glad to hear that

so what is up with the holiday? have you toold us about this?

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 17:02

I fed all mine for about a year or so. It drove her mad. She said to SIL when she was pregnant, with me there:

'I don't think you should bf. All the babies I know who have been bf always seen to WANT something when they're older'

lolol.

Amazing.

She also 'doesn't believe in olive oil'

I am going on holiday with this woman FOR A WEEK.

[represses again]

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 17:08

To Italy.

lolol

The whole trip is going to push her powers of belief in olive oil isn't it?

No, I'm not talking about it because it isn't really happening and if I believe that then it might not really happen.

Tra la la la la

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 17:14

[talks to self, quite happily and endlessly, punctuated by lolols like 3andnomore used to do]

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 17:20

Also dh - being shrewd and placatory fellow - realized that if we got tickets flying wed to wed it was cheaper than sat to sat. So we are going - just us - to a farm for three days, then The Week With His Family, and then us again for three days in an apartment in Sienna.

So not really complaining Am lucky and will behave.

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 17:21

Ish

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 17:22

[bows]

[bows to self]

[falls over]

FrannyandZooey · 02/08/2008 17:24

gracious

littlerach · 02/08/2008 17:28

Still, at least it's Italy.

I love Italy. Sigh.

We are off to France in 2 weeks.
Do you think it'll be warm? Like Hot? Or just like here?

Banana bread
Peas (from garden)
Tomaotes

Have also just made scones.

Am virtuouous goddess like today.

And dh isn't even here to appreciate.
More fool him.

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 18:04

Would you like to know more?

[floodgates open]

It's all my fault. Because if you remember dh had a 40th in three phases. One phase was a pub nr Wales for lunch and a walk at a place of Local Beauty after.

This was an eye-opener for MIL. She said 'Well, this has been a good day' and I said 'Yes'. She said 'I'd like to do something like this for FIL's 70th.' And I said 'Okay' and she said 'We could stay overnight somewhere?' and I said 'How novel. We could have a long weekend somewhere?' and she said 'Will you organise it.'

Then dh got woebegone. He wouldn't go to Wales with them, he'd rather kill himself. Then he brightened up and said 'I know let's go somewhere nice with them all. Let's rent a villa in Italy' and I said 'No. They don't believe in olive oil or Europe. They won't like it' and he said 'They will' and waved his arms around 'It'll be great. It'll be new' and I said 'No, lunch in a pub near Wales was new. Italy will be overboard' and he said 'I'm going to do it'. And I washed my hands.

[collapses]

Thank you for listening.

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 18:07

Then MIL bought picture books on Italy for everyone for Christmas. So we could 'acquaint ourselves with the place.'

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 18:10

[snob emoticon]

It'll be fine. He's right - though I have had to point out to him that whenever we have moved somewhere - his parents always turn up and moan and complain and are v. rude until after about 3 visits and then they say 'it's quite nice here isn't it?'

Enough.

FrannyandZooey · 02/08/2008 18:13

yikes
well rather you than me
I have decided I don't want to be married to your dh after all
it was a foolish fancy
his family are too much of a liability

FrannyandZooey · 02/08/2008 18:13

we need a new title soon

MamaG · 02/08/2008 18:24

Last Mango in Paris

I have had cherries today. Thats it, sum total of my f&v

filthymindedvixen · 02/08/2008 18:53

oh hundred, I love the olive oil/italy thing. I love your gently wittering dh. I love your amazing monologue. i love that I have learned more about you in the past 3 mins than in the past year!
You shared!!!

Is it Pimms'o'clock down there?

dh and I are preparing vegetable sabzi in coconut milk and sag aloo. And did I mention we are child-freee??

ahundredtimes · 02/08/2008 19:32

No am just feeling garrulous. Drinking gin now though, so hang on to your hat.

DS1 and I are making toffee.

You know, I actually don't think there is any aspect of my life that any of you are unaware of. I am frightfully forthcoming these days.

berolina · 02/08/2008 20:07

LOL at not believing in olive oil

yum FMV - guten Appetit.

We have a rearranged flat. The bed is the other way round and ds1's table and chairs are in the living room and not in the children's room any more and I have created a sitting corner in the kitchen (not tiny but - bane of my life - too small to fit a table in) and the bedside mini-cotlet someone is coming to pick up tomorrow is dismantled. I am still kicking myself about that flat We probably wouldn't have taken it for all sortzs of reasons but now I am imagining it as the sort of place I could have really felt settled in. I said to dh that I needed to go and see it just to get it out of my system and he more or less told me not to be so ridiculous. Harrumph.

FrannyandZooey · 02/08/2008 20:40

we have had last mango in paris sorry

Tatties · 02/08/2008 21:14

Serial mover here too...

Bero, I thought the flat looked lovely... but rearranging is good, can be rather energising

Today we went to TKMaxx, and I looked at clothes, BY MYSELF, while the boys looked at toys. I felt like a teenager again. It seems so long since I bought any clothes for myself and actually enjoyed the experience!! (The last time I was trying clothes on somewhere, ds shot out of the cubicle and into someone else's )

Franny what did you wear in the end, and was lunch nice?

FMV a child free week - wow! Enjoy!

pinkspottywellies · 02/08/2008 21:24

"only recently not up the duff" Franny I have that sticker! Shall I send you one?!

Thanks for being nice to pg lady BBB. I'm sure it will come round to me

Tatties · 02/08/2008 21:30

Hi pink How are you? Really tired I bet

fishie · 02/08/2008 21:37

something with cherries in would be a good name. i seem to have no ability to help beyond that. will try harder.

dh's pulverised fruit thing (strawb pineapple apple blackberry i think)
tomatoes
lettuce
beans of my own growing
sweetcorn

40min run
2 hour chopping down jasmine which doesn't flower.

pinkspottywellies · 02/08/2008 22:17

Fine thanks Tatts, but yes so tired I don't know whether to cry or throw up. But when I try to sleep I can't! Going to bed now. 10 o'clock's about my limit.

Been out for nice dinner with Dad and Step-mum. DD was fab. I thought she'd be waaaay to tired but she ran round outside with dh following (and me a few times) and ate dinner and did really well!

I had some peas, mushrooms, onion rings, tomato, andabigfatsteak.
