For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg herehere and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello Lucky Lucien!

I am a bit overwhelmed - at work and can;t be teary or whoop round the office which are both things I feel like doing right now

How wonderful you had him at home and everything went so fantastically well...I'm sure the doula's hand will recover

pinkspottywellies · 18/07/2008 10:40

DH rang from work this morning to ask me to look on the internet and I obviously did it a bit too quickly cause he asked why it was already on!! He says Congrats too Franny x

Swedes · 18/07/2008 10:41

Franny - Congratulations and welcome to Lucien.

Also born on the 18th July:
Nelson Mandela (1918)
William Thackaray (1811)
Sir Richard Branson (1950)

None of them born in caul to my knowledge though.

Swedes · 18/07/2008 10:44

OsmosisBanana · 18/07/2008 13:45

oh yeah... veg...

pecorino salad with spinach, onion, SD toms
butterbean salad
leaves n stuff
artichoke hearts

easily 5

and a banana

and 3 cans of diet coke .

Am back on wagon AGAIN. Fell off quite badly last weekend, mostly as result of falling off my other wagon. Arf. Have been angry and weird all week though as result... Or that is what I blamed it on. I have since realised it is because DH has finished college and is now at home. All... the... time....

I think I need to ask him if he would vacate the premises between 7-8pm. I am used to being on my own most of the wk and doing y'know... stuff.

TigerFeet · 18/07/2008 14:12

veg soup - this week's batch not as good as usual tbh

2 apples

no cherries today. I had about a kilo yesterday (no exaggeration) and I have been paying for my piggery in most explosive gaseous style.

So 5 I reckon

Oh. Oh. [wistful] I want a brand new hours old baby to cuddle. All warm and sleepy and squishy and smelling of milk. Somebody slap me. Please.

OB I have only had one can of diet coke today [proud]

OsmosisBanana · 18/07/2008 14:19

Good work TF.

I have also had 3 cups of tea.

My fingers are drumming on the desk in between typing. No wonder my fingernails are so long - I was fearful I might be pregnonzo but must just be excessive caffeine related finger drumming

FrannyandZooey · 18/07/2008 14:19
