For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg herehere and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ROLF at biting the doula

The children are asking what's for breakfast and I am waving them away and saying flapjacks. They have run off in delight!

Born in the caul, that's amazingly lucky isn't it? And at 3am, only a few hours after you weren't even sure it was the real thing!! See your body knew EXACTLY what to do.

Boco says FANTASTIC she is going to tell BBEE as I can't find her number.

berolina · 18/07/2008 08:21

35cm! ds1's head was 35cm (at 38 weeks! my goodness I'm glad he was early), but I had epidural.

Coming out in the caul is supposed to be great good luck

FrannyandZooey · 18/07/2008 08:22

yes we had already decided to call him Lucky for a sort of joke nickname
"Lucky Lucian"

he wasn't actually in the caul because they ruptured it to get him out
but near as makes no difference IMO

right must go and

not sure
he is fast asleep
not to do here atm!

FourArms · 18/07/2008 08:22

Congratulations F&Z

FourArms · 18/07/2008 08:23

pinkspottywellies · 18/07/2008 08:38

I sat in hospital and put my make up on about this long after dd was born. She was asleep and I had nothing else to do

pinkspottywellies · 18/07/2008 08:39

We need a new thread soon. Poor TooT will still be waiting for it to load after her last message!

Fantastic news, and what a lovely name

Oh how very splendid! A gorgeous new baby is enough to make me start eating veg again

(btw I mooed with dd too )

OsmosisBanana · 18/07/2008 09:18

Awesome! Well done Franny!

Is flapjacks for breakfast not usual fare?

My first hours after DD were born were worse than the birth.

For some reason I took my contact lenses out (blind as a bat) and then couldn't find my glasses in my ridiculously overpacked PFB nightbag. I didn't want to make too much noise rummaging around as I didn't want to wake her up as I knew I wouldn't be able to see what I was doing if I had to try and BF her on my own. So I sat there blind for 4 hours waiting for DH to turn up.

And also incredibly itchy from the pethidine wearing off.

Prob quite lame but felt hellish at the time.

No more babies for me.

Tatties · 18/07/2008 09:46

dd is delighted with his gorgous name, possibly because her name is Lucy

she blows kisses

DH was incredibly bemused as to why I was logging on first thing this morning before I even had a coffee... I said "Franny was 2 weeks overdue but has had her baby overnight" and he was that she had posted within hours to let us know. He just doesn't get MN at all .

Is less than 3 hours after the birth some kind of MN record?

Tatties · 18/07/2008 09:53

Oh, well done Franny and welcome Lucian.

Guadalupe · 18/07/2008 10:16

I almost feel as if I gave birth last night, probably because I was thinking about it so much when I went to bed.

I half expected people to say congratulations on the school run.
