For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I am 10 days over
she said she wasn't surprised as with subsequent pgs things often tend to stay shut and then just go whoosh when you are in labour
she is trying hard to be nice
she did have a good old rummage for sure
what a job for a nice lady

UnderRated · 14/07/2008 18:06

I love those toastie makers too. They don't do them over here. When they make toasties they use that plastic cheese and sort of fry it in a pan

UnderRated · 14/07/2008 18:07

Sorry about defaced cervix. Perhaps is will just pop open in the next day or two?

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:10

Franny, if it's any help at all, my cervix was as tough as old boots with every pg. Until the very last moment.

In fact, with dd2, they were all for sending me home. Midwife examined me, then asked me why I was there.
I said I was going to have a baby.
I had to fight to stay at all, then not to be sent up to the ward.
Midwife was very but dd2 appeared within the hour.
I was on my own for that one as dp was with dcs.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:13

What I would suggest Franny, if you can bear it , is as soon as you have a twinge, keep walking. I did this with dd2. She would quite happily have gone back to sleep and stayed put but I walked and walked around my lonely hospital room, stopping only to hang onto the walls, and lo she came.

oh GOD this thread is nearly finished
quick quick we need a title that doesn't make me feel inadequate every time I look at it

Boco · 14/07/2008 18:15

Hmm. So 'LETS GET THIS DONE!' would be wrong, and not motivating at all?

Ok, maybe a distracting, fruity title, and we should all look the other way and think of something else and then it will happen.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:15

Actually, that is probably blindingly obvious.

Bloody hell, we need a new thread.

I don't think I can, TooT, it hurts too much to walk really
well I mean I could do it, but if the baby didn't arrive, I will be that much more immobile tomorrow if I have been walking and standing a lot today, and I can't stand it getting worse
I could be here having to take ds to nursery and stuff for another week - it is getting a bit grim some days anyway tbh (I know not compared to your poor old pelvis but am wimp)

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 18:17

LOL let's get this done

NO

asparagus - 2 portions?
grapes and a crunchy nectarine
peanut butter on toast, scrambled eggs, new potatoes
I know those aren't f+v but I thought it might sound like I haven't eaten and I most certainly have

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:18

Sorry, I am running several minutes behind the rest of you.

OP posts:
Boco · 14/07/2008 18:18

How sad that dp couldn't be there Toot, did you mind a lot? Could no one else have had the kids? You're very brave, I needed dp so that I could dig my nails into his arm and mouth vile threats at him.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:19

Yes, I thought it might be impractical for you Franny. Poor old you.
Can't anybody else take ds to nursery?

Some things are worth the weight. 10/10 thread.

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 18:20

Sorry, that's my title suggestion.

Or Fruity Btiches at your cervix.

Actually, no, not that one.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:21

He was transferring children to my mother at the time.
Actually, it was quite liberating. Y'know.

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 18:23

oh GOD I want to do the at your cervix one
but I won't
will I?

Boco · 14/07/2008 18:24

Lol, I like fruity bitches at your cervix very much. Lets get this done.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:26

Oh, I was slow getting it. But do it. Or do you want somebody else to?

OP posts:
littlerach · 14/07/2008 18:28

Franny, my cervix wasn like yours

I had 2 sweeeps and my mum predicted i would have dd2 on the day that I did have her - mum's birthday!!
And dd1 had been 5 and a bit weeks early, so it felt like dd2 was almost 2 months late!!

I have the interview tomorrow - wish me luck.

Teeny new potatoes
teeny carrots - both form my friend's garden.
brocolli
tomatoes
cucmber
dried fruit in musleli
grapes

What do I do with dd2's pumpkin plant? it is taking over our littl eplot. Can I trim it? If so, where????

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 18:28

I couldn't POSSIBLY do it myself

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 18:34

I will if nobody else has yet
