For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

des1 is off school - he woke us up with his howls and sobs at 5am with stomach pains and a high temp! Ended up taking him down to out of hours gp at 7 as he was in so much pain. He has no obvious other symptoms (ie D&V, earache etc) so they told me to keep an eye out in case it is appendicitis! He is very quiet but quite ok now.
We are watching the Box Of Delights. Gosh but it's wierder than I remembered the book being

filthymindedvixen · 14/07/2008 13:47

franny I was 13 stone with ds2. Seriously it will go eventually

Boco · 14/07/2008 13:51

Am trying NOT to think about Franny and the rummaging.

Ticket problem solved - they were away last week, ticket arrived and had to be signed for, they only just found the post office card saying that they had to pick something up, it was under a pile of things - (see, vague) so will go and get tickets from PO later and bring them round. Phew.

Ok that's 3 major obstacles overcome so far to get to this event, can that be it please?

Boco · 14/07/2008 13:52

Where is Idris? Am hoping she hears from her dh soon as she's worrying on another thread somewhere.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 13:52

Poor ds1

I remember the Box of Delights being on when I was little - Sundays at 5 or something? I remember liking it. I think I read it as well but my memory is worryingly bad.

Must be okay now Boco. Things happen in threes.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 13:55

What happening with Idris?

Tatties · 14/07/2008 13:56

Oh no FMV! Hope he improves soon

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 13:59

I came to see about the sweeping which I see is right now.

I'm now imagining Franny on a yacht in Monte Carlo.

filthymindedvixen · 14/07/2008 14:00

I think he's ok, everything seems bleak at 5am doesn't it?

I am slightly fretful as I cannot have much time off work at the moment, as I need all my time-off for the impending hols...that sounds awful, doesn't it?

Boco · 14/07/2008 14:06

Hope he's ok filthy - and no, doesn't sound awful, these arrangements are complicated aren't they. I'm looking forward to school break but also selfishly wishing that I'd get a day or two to myself - I'll lose all that time to mn paint or just get things done or be by myself. Still, it'll whizz by and then i'll miss them.

Am sharing 100s Monte Carlo fantasy. Franny is wearing a big hat and sipping a cocktail.

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 14:37

Doesn't sound awful at all, sounds completely normal to me. I hope he is feeling better, and it isn't appendicitis or something grim. Hope too that small spotty Lupe is feeling better.

Franny has a big yellow bag at her feet, one foot firmly on it. It contains her money for the casino tonight.

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 14:38

all done
you can stop thinking about yachts now
good lord she was THOROUGH

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 14:39

why didn't I get a young waiter bringing me the cocktails?
can I have him now?

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 14:39

Frannyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 14:43

Did they say something useful like 'Oh my, yes, it won't be long now' or did they say 'you're as closed as a closed thing'?

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 14:43

I had a sweep with ds1. I've just remembered.

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 14:44

[stares at Franny]

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 14:44

I'm going away tomorrow until Friday. This is dreadful. We won't be here. [wail]

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 14:45

she said there is nothing doing up there
but that with a 2nd pg she would have been surprised if there was
ie she was being kind
she said "I would not normally do this so FIRMLY but I know it is very important to you"
LOL
I feel violated
in a very firm way

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 14:45

when are you going 100?

ahundredtimes · 14/07/2008 14:47

lol at firm violations. [crosses legs]

Tomorrow lunchtime.

What do you reckon? Boco's away on Thursday you know.
