For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Dd1 is making a birthday cake for dp. Dd2 is helping. And licking spoons.
Dd1: DON'T lick the spoon, the mixture will get spitty.
Dd2: But the spoon is messy.
Dd1: Mum, she keeps licking the spoon!
Me: Well, it's going to be cooked.

Good luck, Franny. I don't recall the sweep being that bad, well, the midwife examined me and said afterwards that she had done one. I hadn't noticed, or indeed given permission but the point is I thought it was just an exam.

Be very nice to yourself indeed. I recognise that not ringing the doula feeling, sometimes you just need to be. You will call her when the time is right.

A chocolate cookie. That's it. Took ds2 to the doctor as his rash looks weird and a bit weepy and she said it is a mess of things, a virus (not slapcheek) has started it, this has triggered his excema and then a crack has got infected. He looks like he has every kind of rash disease, poor thing. We also had a word about his lack of vaccinations and extended bf. Sigh. She was nice though.

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 12:31

Oh dear, poor ds2
Would a rooibos bath help or are you supposed to keep him dry?
Glad the doctor was nice anyway.

poor ds2, Loopy, skin things always look so bad and you can't forget they have got them, even if they are not feeling too bad at that moment

Boco don't be daft (about my cervix, etc). I would be going spare if someone was being vague like that and time was ticking on

please don't all think of me too vividly and factually . think of me doing something really glamorous instead

like walking without waddling
not looking pg from the back
or weighing less than THIRTEEN AND A HALF STONE

Guadalupe · 14/07/2008 13:02

she's always nice but I think she thinks I'm a bit barking

rooibos tea? Never heard of that. she said to put oilatum in the bath and e45 on his face but I probably won't. I have a calendular cream somewhere.

Boco - I would ring him and say you NEED to know today about the tickets. Can you ring and investigate if he won't. Do not stand for vagueness.

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2008 13:04

oh dear Avi
dp says "omg she was a financial advisor for TEN YEARS"
I said "she just says she was in finance, she might not have been an FA"
dp says "she has, she has just said it, look, I know, how do you think I got into it? Tell her I only got stuck doing it for TWO years so I am much cleverer than her.........although she could be said to have moved on a little further than I have managed "

Guadalupe · 14/07/2008 13:04

TooTicky · 14/07/2008 13:45

Dd2 has developed a habit of walking off with whatever I happen to be eating. Which is fine, and it's good that she is eating well, but I am hungry.
