For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

it's your fault we are boaking, Boco

IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 21:00

I didn't realise my periods had started (was 14 so you would think I would have realised - maybe I thought they would never start) and they were very light and my mum had to point it out to me .

Boco · 13/07/2008 21:00

Exactly 100x, brothers make it worse, and my step-dad would come in and always go straight to the ago to prod with a poker and rake about and my cheeks would burn and I'd feel desperately embarrassed.

(oh, I'm going to tell you this bit anyway, even though it's one of those things that wakes me up in the night 20 years later) So, one month, I couldn't do this anymore, so I hid them all in a bag and took the bag out to the dustbin in the farm yard. And that night there was a gale, and all the rubbish was blown all over the place. And my step father had to pick it all up, from hedges and the lawn and the yard. Towels with wings, in branches. After that I never complained because the memory was so much worse.

Guadalupe · 13/07/2008 21:00

time really

well, I only bought it last week. I thought it would be ok as there are lots of pictures in it but I just haven't been able to pick it up.

I need to eat something but can't muster up the enthusiasm to go and find something. Other than rock cakes.

Guadalupe · 13/07/2008 21:02

I might read more if I spent less time on here.

Boco - I feel your pain. Truly I do.

Boco · 13/07/2008 21:03

Guada I shared my worst story - what was yours?

Guadalupe · 13/07/2008 21:03

It was worse.

avi, you are a gem and I am an ungrateful skinless drunk.

I will enlist your help / advice tomorrow if poss.

ahundredtimes · 13/07/2008 21:05

Tell us yours.

I kept mine under the bed because I couldn't bear the burning and my fathers 'what the fuck is this' and the fetching of the tongs for further inspection.

Then my mother found them. That wasn't good.

Bbbee · 13/07/2008 21:07

oh boco - that is like something out of a gritty kind of enid blyton story.

no baby?

we are sad as we found out today that our little ginger cat was run over and killed (and I don;t usually do the faces)

Guadalupe · 13/07/2008 21:08

oh, Bbee, that's really sad. Poor you and dcs.

IdrisTheDragon · 13/07/2008 21:08

BBbee that is very sad

Bbbee · 13/07/2008 21:08

dcs really devastated - ds amazingly dramatic - we had 'it is better to have loved than lost...'

ahundredtimes · 13/07/2008 21:09

Oh Bee. That is very sad. I am sorry. Are you going to have a burial?

Bbbee · 13/07/2008 21:12

we can't bury him as someoen found him and took him to the veys who'disposed'. We are going to bury his cat bowl tomorrow and put flowers by the road (but am going to take wild flowers so people don't think someone has been killed!)

LullyOfShallot · 13/07/2008 21:12

Bee

Tatties · 13/07/2008 21:13

Oh Bee how awful I am truly very sad to hear that

ahundredtimes · 13/07/2008 21:13

Oh how awful. Everyone must be devastated. It's horrible isn't it?

filthymindedvixen · 13/07/2008 21:16

Bbbeee - I ried for 3 days whne my last cat was killed

I was so skinny and underdeveoped...I actually bought tampons for about 2 years before my periods started so no-one would know. And when they finally did start, I couldn't tell a soul, not even my mum.

Boco · 13/07/2008 21:17

Sorry Bee, that's really sad.

FrayedKnot · 13/07/2008 21:36

Oh BBBee, how sad for you all

Did the vet contact you to tell you? I mean did she have a microchip, or collar?

I can;t think of aNY horrible moments with STs...the burning in teh aga is revolting

I'm not sure what happened to ours, actually thinking about it possibly my Dad did burn them, he is a bit of a pyromaniac

FrayedKnot · 13/07/2008 21:36

Soory, BBBee, I didn;t read properly.

Him.
