For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Good morning!

Franny you still have a beautiful bump Hope the headache passes

'Handrubbling' never got me into labour, even after having a sweep.. I think ds was quite happy where he was

Ds had a better night and the sun is shining.. hope everyone has a good day

TigerFeet · 01/07/2008 08:57

Well done Mr Fra

Bump still gorgeous but you are right - it is about time baby arrived. Today is Toot's dd2's birthday (Happy BIrthday ) and tomorrow is my dd's birthday so bub would be in good company

I have been very productive this morning - two loads of washing hung out, another load in the washer, tidied kitchen, fed and watered dd, watered garden. There is a mahoosive pile of ironing glowering in the corner. It keeps reaching out to grab me but I am being brave and ignoring it.

No food yet, of any persuasion; animal, vegetable or mineral.

Handrubbing may well have worked for me, the deed was done the evening before labour started. I remain unconvinced though - for all I know it would have started anyway. I'd had a couple of hours of fairly painful braxton hicks a couple of days previously so I reckon she was on her way anyway.

hello happy birthday toots dd and fruity vibes to all

am here only to give pat on back to Fran
all the best dearie

do i join in the chorus of "open up you lazy fucker"

no but seriously it's just you know if it's today then all the best

(i think you should get the tickets to the fair,it will ensure your waters break after you have finished making the packed lunches on friday morning)

TigerFeet · 01/07/2008 09:16

DD was awake and raring to go at 6am ergo so was I . Ironing - well I hate it but I love ironed clothes so I tolerate it. I only do shirts, tshirts, trousers, dd's dresses, that's about it... I know people that do sheets and teatowels. Life is too short imvho.

Washer about finished so I will hang that out and then we are off out for the day - swimming, lunch and park then animal farm thingy - dd's birthday treat day has been brought forward from tomorrow as I have my gall bladder scan tomorrow and also it's going to piss down all day whereas it's glorious today. Terrible sentence construction there but hey-ho, I have already been awake a loooooooong time

lionheart · 01/07/2008 09:17

Happy birthday Tootle.

Clearly, we need to work on the visualisation thing (serial killer) .

Made an easy 10 yesterday.

Tatties · 01/07/2008 09:18

Avi if you have your mobile while you are away I will text you if there is any news

Now you see, wrt 'handrubbing', I have heard that you need to do it rather a lot for it to have any effect. I think at that stage of pregnancy you would rather just wait

IdrisTheDragon · 01/07/2008 09:53

Hello

Happy birthday Tootlet

Happy Birthday to my DH as well

Strawberries (in pancakes, for DH's birthday)

F&Z, that is the neatest bump I have ever seen.

There is a mum at preschool who has gone in ofr her CS today - she is massive, and all around.

My sister is more like oyu, though she has 3 and half weeks to go - all neat and tidy.
My poor SIL is due in 10 days and my MIL was telling me that she looks like a barrel

FrannyandZooey · 01/07/2008 12:49

how much is 'a lot'?

perhaps the answer is just to get Mr TigerFeet to do it as he seems more effective on this score than the other 10 / 10 husbands?

I had better stop talking about it, this pg will no doubt last another week or two and even though it is ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT I see no reason why it should be inflicted on you non stop also [gloom]

ds ridiculously, illegally perky
thank god well enough for nursery and a teenage friend to come and take him out

dp says a bird has been eating our lettuces [outrage]
I said perhaps it was eating a slug that was eating the lettuces, and dp said "I thought that too until it flew off with a load of lettuce in its mouth."

LOL Franny

A lot... hmmm I don't know exactly, just sure I have heard/read (most likely on here) that you would need a succession of orgasms to get your uterus contracting. Or something Sorry if TMI for lunchtime [double blush]

LullyOfShallot · 01/07/2008 14:30

nipple tweaking franny... whilst going for a ride down a very bumpy country road, eating pineapple & drinking raspberry tea & having multiple orgasms
tis the way to go

hello chaps

TooTicky · 01/07/2008 16:33

Hello everybody, thanks for birthday wishes
Dd2 having a wonderful day.
Didn't quite suss tricycle handle until I had walked a couple of miles almost doubled over BUT she enjoyed the trip.
She has play doughed and sand-and-watered and said, "I am having a pretty time!" and read her birthday cards aloud - apparently one of them said, "Birthday dd2, she is three at the moment"

Dd1 has had a splendid day at secondary school and can't wait until September

Oh, due to difficulty in obtaining beetle-free natural red food colouring I made fresh raspberry icing and it is jolly good!
Will post pics when dp can make the camera lead work.

I sent Franny an encouraging email earlier, wonder how she's doing....

TooTicky · 01/07/2008 16:42

Ds1 has just invited me to pat some very wet sand and said, "It feels just like your tummy in the mornings"

UnderRated · 01/07/2008 17:12

Where's Franny? I bet she's following Lully's advice

Am glad all the Toot family are having such a lovely day. When asked how old he is, DS says, "I'll be three in a minute. In September." Good news re DD1 and school. at tummy feeling like wet sand!

DS stroppy again. Overtired, complaining lots, refusing to nap and remarkably stubborn. I have no idea where he gets it from. I am not like this. Not at all. Never.
